It was then that Urthblayde realized his blunder. "Er....no sir. T'wernt me! I was just discussing my battle plans 'ere with my new pal, Garret. Must have been the winds." While it is true Urthblayde would prove to be match for the Colonel, he could tell the hare is no spring chicken when it came to fighting.

"Hmmm......the wind seems to be very active now. I would have sworn it just said that you had a big droopy nose! Ah well, the wind is the wind and there's no way to change it!" retorted Sev.

In the relative solitude of the hallway, Tamar suddenly felt a bit shy. She looked down at her paw linked with Silas's and smiled. "I missed you." It was a true statement. Even thought they hadn't been out of each other's sight for most of the day what she really missed was being alone with him. She had started to think that this moment would never come and now that it was here she didn't know what to do or say. ((My apologies for neglecting my postings...)) Silas smiled as well, looking into the sqirrelmaid's pretty hazel eyes, replying, "I missed you too, Tamar." He stood there a moment, then continued, "Um..." Though now he was also faced with the same problem of what to say. ((Muse/whatever = dead))

Urthblayde let out a low gruff, chuckle. The sensation of being in a place full of such peace and humor made the large badger feel at ease. In light of himself, he was even starting to get comfterable standing next to Garret. But he wondered just how long the peace will last. Urthblayde shifted his attention to the woods, keeping his eye pealed for any unusual movement.

Tamar looked down at her footpaws, flustered, then she looked back up at Silas. "Maybe we could go for a walk out in the orchard?" She had forgotten that Elthia asked them to do anything or for that matter that there was a vermin horde outside the gates. Nothing seemed to matter now that she was with Silas again. Bryan smiled at Tom. "I'll be fine, thanks. I'm guessing it won't be more than a couple of days before I'm fit for duty agian." Elthia smiled she figured that Tom was the source of the friendly fire and decided to try to make things easier on him. "That's right we'll have this boy-o up on his footpaws in no time. You'll be side by side up on that wall battlin' vermin as soon as Bryan's had a good nights rest and some fillin' scof."

"Boyo?" Bryan said incredulously. "I still have to fix my weapons anyway. Maybe I can do that now, while I'm down for a bit. Would that be permitted, ma'am?" he asked Elthia.

Elthia looked on him keenly. "Hmm I think sleep would be the best medicine just now. Then maybe when you've rested a bit I can have somecreature bring up your weapons and you can get to work on them so they'll be ready when your back up and around."

Bryan sighed, resigned. "All right then. I guess I better get some rest then. Good night." With that, Bryan rolled over and was soon sound asleep, thankfully without snoring.

"Yeah... That sounds nice." Silas agreed, forgetting the task they were appointed as well. "Might as well be out there, you know..." He reasoned with a shrug.
Just in case.
His thoughts briefly turned to what hadhappened earlier in the orchard, with that fox... But he ignored it. It was in the past, and Tamar was here with him to enjoy the evening after a rather hectic day.
-------------------------------------------------------
"I could get 'em, if ye want." Tom offered to Bryan, reassured by Elthia yet still wanting to repay the injured mouse somewhat.

It didn't take long for Tamar to remember the reality of the situation as they stepped out into the Abbey grounds. There were hares and other defenders stationed all around the wall tops. She also remembered the earlier events in the orchard but now under the stars with Silas beside her it didn't seem quite so sinister. Still she couldn't keep the forthcoming battle out of her thoughts and she spoke of it. "So do you think there will really be an attack tomorrow?"
-------------------------------------
Elthia put a paw to her lips and led Tom away from the sleeping mouse. "I think he would really appreciate it and if you'd like you can stay up here till he wakes and give the weapons to him yourself."

Silas did think upon this as they walked, padding through the snow towards the orchards. Then, after a second, he responded, looking back to Tamar after glancing up at the sky. "Well, I hope that there won't be an attack tomorrow, or at all, but I bet they're planning something awful soon. We'll be ready, though." He said in reassurance as they walked.
----------------------------------
"That'd be just fine, marm." Tom replied, looking back at Bryan a second, "It's the least I could do, y'know?" He said, subtlely affirming Elthia's assumption that he caused the injury to Bryan.

Tamar nodded solemnly and then she thought of something else it was something that had been nagging at her for a while now. The Abbey had always been her home but after all that had happened she was wondering about what the world was like outside of Mossflower. "After it's all over, when the Abbey's not in danger anymore, what then? I mean, will you stay here or will you go away again?"

"Well, I was thinking of heading out again a long time ago..." He replied as they reached the treeline, strolling through the pillars of wood, their branches filled with snow. Thank goodness I stayed past October... He thought, for then he wouldn't have even met Tamar to begin with. He grinned. "...Heh, I guess I couldn't leave as easy as I came. Though, I'd like to get out there sometime.'' First he gestured over the walltops with an ear, then moved closer to the squirrelmaid as the cold air began to seep in, attempting to keep her warm in the chilly night.
"I won't leave you behind, though." He said, looking back into her eyes again.

A shiver ran down Tamar's spine but it had nothing to do with the chill in the air. Much more to blame was the closeness of the squirrel warrior and the way his blue eyes were gazing into her own. Her heart pounded and the words tumbled out of her mouth as she breathed, "I'd go anywhere with you."

Sev was back to patrolling the battlements. Reassuring the Redwallers as he went, Sev eventually found himself standing next to Phil. "How goes it Phil? Everything quiet over here?" he asked.
