"Alright. Bread it is. But don't leave leftovers to the pike again or someone will be feeding the pike while in the water with them! It's going to be awhile before we get this bird ti trust us enough to send the message and the last thing we need is supplies running out!" In truth. There were a lot of supplies. But Hans was in a stressful mood. The fact he might get stuck on the very land he took over was making him stressed and angry. Mainly because of the pike. Sure. They were a plus at home Defense. But what good is that if they come at EVERYONE INCLUDING HIM!

Toboe nodded in agreement with his king's words. They didn't have a whole lot of time to lose. Especially with the pike eating all of their soldiers and workers...

The High King relaxed a little and asked for his servant. A water rat came with a chalice of Damson Wine.
"Here you go Your Marlfox Mightiness."
Hans almost laughed. Marlfox? He had heard of marlfoxes before. But he never believed them to be real. But to the water rats. They believe every bit of this Legend. And seeing Hans' fur colors. They mistook the Arctic Fox for a Marlfox. Mainly because they never saw a Arctic Fox in their entire lives! Though when winter came. His fur would change White. Meaning he might have to "Hide off" In his chamber for a while until he got his other coat back. Why? Because this Marlfox Legend is helping with his control over the water rats. They think HE is a Marlfox! And if that scares them and makes them more obedient. By all means. Call him A Marlfox King!
He grabed the Chalice and took a drink out of it.

Toboe chuckled amusedly at hearing the rat call Hans a Marlfox. He'd seen one before and knew that Hans was no Marlfox. Still, if it helped Hans maintain control, he'd keep his mouth shut and play along. He didn't really care. He stared pensievely up at his king and new friend, thinking of ways to help him keep up his facade as a supposed Marlfox.

When the Rat left. Hans mumbled.
"Stupid Rat."
He chuckled.
"Marlfoxes. Thats even more ridiculous than the Martin The Warrior sword story."
He burst out in laughter.

Toboe raised an eyebrow silently. You can laugh all you want, Sire, but I've seen that sword for myself. I've also seen what it can do now that it's been resharpened. Anyhow, I've been thinking... Should we go along with this whole Marlfox thing?

The Fox smiled.
"Sure. But hopefully when my forces are bigger and stronger than ever before. I might tell them to truth. Besides if i ever had to be referred to as a Marlfox instead of my own kind i think i would lose my mind."
Yes. That would drive him insane indeed...

Toboe laughed and patted his friend's paw understandingly. I know what you mean, mate. I get confused with quite a few different creatures and it drives me batty every time. So... any ideas on how we're going to keep up this little charade?

"These rats are not really that smart. I think simply lying to them will work every time."
Hans thought about this Marlfox thing. All he heard was stories. Like those Of Queen Silth and her childern. There was a library in this castle. Maybe he would read some of the book there to see what they have about Marlfoxes...

Toboe nodded thoughtfully. I suppose it would work. All the same, I'll keep a sharp eye on them just in case. If they start to suspect something then we'll need a back-up plan.

Hans sighed and looked at the floor.
"There is no back up plan. Our only hope is if that damn bird is not really mute and we can gain it's trust and friendship or at lest make a deal with it so it can send the message. If that fails. We have no choice but to try to go by cog....."

Toboe stared at the floor for a moment before suddenly perking up as an idea reached him. Why don't you let me try to talk to the robin and see if I can convince him to carry the letter for us?

"Worth a try. Be even better if in not involved. I bet that robin would shoot out of it's feathers if it saw me ever again."
The Fox yawned. Than got up to head for one of the few armories in this castle. He was wondering what kind of weapons were in them....

Toboe rose, bowing respectfully, and walked out of the room quietly. He sniffed the air for a moment before setting off for the room that the bird was in. He knocked on the bird's door quietly before entering.

Hans entered the nearest Armory and saw many different weapons. Curved swords, halberds, spears, sabers, axes, All kinds of weapons! Hans was pleased. Lest they never had any worries about running out of weapons..
