Garret grinned at the cheeky Squirrelmaid.
"It's nice to see you too, Tamar. I'm afraid I can't leave, however, until I'm sure that me and my friends here, as well as the hired one", he paused, and Jaysn bowed "aren't nessesary."
"I'll give it to you strait, Tamar, I can't lie to a friend... or his wife?" He said, seeing the ring glinting on her claw.
"Well, congratulations, both of you! As I was saying, though, there's a possibility that Reggie is alive, and coming here. I'll need to try and get reenforcements here, so if you'll permit me to use your secure phone line, I can get a few beasts on standby." Garret explained, looking toward the abbey, and noting the badgermaid staring at him, in a distrusting manner.
"What? Seriously?"

Tamar went through a series of emotions as Garret spoke. First was pride and joy when he noticed the ring on her claw, and she looked up at Silas happily. Then there was fear and anger when he mentioned the name of Reggie. They had always known it was possible that this day might come but now that it was here she could only think of the safety of her beloved abbey. For this reason she was glad that Garret had brought his 'friends.' She noticed his look at Conium and said distractedly, "Oh don't mind her. The badgermaid just came from America. She's young but she seems to be quite smart." They couldn't possibly know that while she looked distrustfully at the fox what was actually disturbing the badgermaid were the American uniforms on the soldiers behind him. They reminded her of the ones who had raided her lab.

Jasyn looked around at the fabled Abbey. He had heard tales, of course, but had never been there himself. When Garret called and hired him for 300 grand, he was glad he deigned to accept. To see this place held so much in history... The fox stepped away from the grounds and looked at the red stone walls, almost scarred by time and endless wars. The day was a hot one, yet the merc felt at ease in his kevlar-lined trenchcoat and dark grey fatigues. He checked his duel-wield Desert Eagles with incendary rounds as well as the posion vial daggers lining the right side of his coat. All was in order. His skull-painted face and grey eyes suddenly rose as pawsteps sounded near. He turned.

Garret glanced at Silas, who nodded. He turned to the soldiers he'd brought, and nodded toward the abbey. "Make yourselves comfortable. With any luck, I was wrong, and we'll be out of here in a week. No offence." He added, glancing at Silas and Tamar.
"I hope so, Garret, I really do." Leon Renges, Leading member of the A5 squad, said. "Let's go, guys. Get situated. 15 minutes, then we start devising a plan should this place be attacked. We'll need to get everybeast out, and have a safe and fast way to do it."
They nodded, and followed him in, past the badgermaid, whose gaze lingered on the door they'd gone through.
Garret walked up to Conium.
"Sorry, ma'am, but I haven't been to the abbey in a long time... can you direct me to the transmissions room?" He said, ever the gentlebeast.

Jasyn was sartled to see a .45 magnum pushed under his snout. "What are you doing here, merc?" The fox followed the barrel to a chocolate brown paw, and followed that to the hostile face of a female otter. She glared at him with her hazel eyes. "We have no need for your kind."
Jasyn smiled. "I've sucessfully completed 9 missions in Iraq, 3 in Africa, and 5 in Japan. Not to mention one very vital one in South America. I think I know what to o with a corrupt politician. The question I have for you, how do you know me, and why do you hate me?" the fox pushed aside the gun and looked at her. She grimaced.
"My husband hired you to protect him in Egypt. He died. He sounded so excited about you, and then he parished. I will not welcome you, merc." She turned and strode away, tightly controlling her rage. Jasyn merely looked puzzled, then walked up next to his employer. "So, when do we start, Boss?"

Conium frowned first at the fox who had spoken to her and then at the other one and her paw went reflexively to the cord around her neck to make sure it was still there. At the end of this cord tucked beneath her shirt was a small vile. She had taken to keeping it with her at all times. It wouldn't do to loose it, not only because if would cause an outbreak of something very nasty if it got out but also because it was the only reminder of the work she had done back in the States. Her eyes flitted back once again to the speaker, the one Tamar had called Garret. "Yeah, it's just this way." She turned and began to lead the way feeling very young and out of place.

Garret turned to Jasyn, and shrugged. "I'm hoping we don't. I owe these beasts, these... friends of mine, and they're now at risk due to my actions. And you don't need to be formal about it, as far as I'm concerned, you're a friend that I need to pay." He said, following the badgermaid down the main foyer/corridor, and then he looked through a door into Great Hall, where A5 was most enjoying the food.
"If you want to busy yourself, then I suggest you talk to Leon. He's the most tactically oriented one here. I just pay for stuff and kick ***." The Soldier joked, a following Conium down another hall, where she indicated a door. He went in.
"Or you can do... something else. I'll be in here for a while."

Jasyn sighed. "Allright then Bo-I mean Garret." The merc turned to go and noticed the otter in a corner, hatred filling up her entire being. The fox instinctively felt for his Desert Eagles, before he caught himself. It would do him no good to be found with a drawn weapon on an abbey dweller. He would be kicked out and maybe thrown in jail. More importantly, he would lose his payment. That is something he would not take a risk for. He turned again to the other fox. "Who's Leon?'

"Leon is the big fox in Great Hall, the one with an XM8 LMG slung across his back. He's the squad leader of USSFESTA5, the best military unit since the Spartans." Garret said, closing the door to the room he was in.
"That we are." Called Leon, who had managed to hear the last sentence.
He picked up a headset, and settled into a chair. He set the radio to a secure channel.
"Identify yourself."
"Garret G. Strife."
"Oh, sorry Mr. Strife. I'll patch you right through to command."

Jasyn looked impressed. " The USSFESTA5? You guys have plenty succsessfull missions under your belts. Especially that touchy problem with Russia 5 years ago. Well, if you guys are in charge, then I'm happy." The merc went over and grinned at the other fox. "Mercenary Jasyn Kaiden at you service, then. What can I do?" The merc had a whit paw held out, his face had returned to his normal somber mode.

"You have no idea, trust me." Leon said, turning slightly to reveal a large scar going across his face, something that you didn't get in modern war, then taking the paw and shaking it haughtily. "What you can do... depends on what you can do. What is your greatest area of combat expertise, Mr. Kaiden?" The bulky fox asked.
"I've heard good things about you as well, but you know rumors. They're never quite true."

Kaiden's eyes shone as he spoke without hesitation. "My areas of specialty are Bodyguarding and Assassinations. I have had martial arts training of Kung Fu, Karate, Tai Chi, Ninjutsu, kickboxing, wrestling. Weapons training include dual pistols, daggers, quarterstaff, sniper rifle, automatic rifle, and garrote. I've had survival training from the best, and I have a conditioned body. The best areas for me are hot humid, next to that, forests. I have somewhat limited skill in tactics, though."

"Well, you ARE a piece of work. Remind me of myself a bit, with all the **** you can do." Leon said. "Hmm... YOu know how to use a Barret M107, Formerly reffered to as the M82A1? Our sharpshooter was injured, and we had to sub him for... that guy..." He trailed off, pointing at a ferret who was trowing his combat knife into the air and catching it by the tip, repeatedly, without looking.
"Creeps me out when he does that. Though... well, I hope he can put that thing to good use if need be." Leon said, now hefting a large duffel bag onto the table. "M107's in there. Enjoy."

Jasyn unzipped the duffle bag and pulled out the large sniper rifle. He hefted it, fealing it's weight and mass, and he checked the magazine for ammo. He searched again in the duffle bag and pulled out one of the clips. He attatched it, then jacked a round into the magazine. He lifted it to his shoulder, sighted, and then took it down. With deft motions, he dissasembled the gun, replaced the round in the clip, then put the M107 back together. He layed it it the duffle then looked at Leon. "Do I know how to use it? No, not at all...." A double tooth grin then he lifted the duffle and slung it across his shoulders.
