Age: 31 seasons (31 year equivalent)Species: Red Squirrel
Gender: Male
Allegiance: Evil
Appearance:
Hemlock is a sturdily built and highly muscular squirrel with auburn-colored fur. His eyes are an acid green hue, but they also have grey flecks in them. His tail is very large and covered in flowing fur that is dull brown on top and a brilliant scarlet underneath.Belongings:
He wears a long coat of well-stitched and elegant maroon cloth, trimmed at the collar with downy feathers. A green sash of barkcloth secures this garment and holds the sheath for his sword. Often he wears his issued set of spiked steel platemail that protects his chest, back, shoulders, head, shins, and forearms. On his right ear he wears a brass hoop earring set with a small topaz. This signifies his rank in the Red Horde.
His armor set and clothing, plus a square buckler and curved sword with crosshilts that are also curled and pointed. He also carries a long whip wrapped about his shoulders that he uses to frighten and punish slaves.Job or Position:
And since Hemlock is in charge of many of the Red Horde's battle-trained slaves, he considers them his property.
He is one of five Field Marshals in the Red Horde that command a portion of its field army and battleslave force.Personality:
Hemlock would be a shock to any decent Redwaller. He is incredibly stern, strict and pitiless, disciplining his troops almost as harshly as he beats his slaves. The squirrel doesn't put any value on life(save his own) unless that life can serve some stategic purpose. He is not morally limited to some standard of justness;he follows orders from his higher-ups and carries them out swiftly, efficiently, and emotionlessly.History and Background Information:
Hemlock was the heir to Cheiftanship in a tribe of squirrels in the Southern forest, and he quickly showed that he was not cut out for looking after the welfare of others. However, his tribe still trusted him since his father had been such a great leader. One Spring a contigent of Red Horde soldiers came upon Hemlock's village. They began to threaten and harass the squirrels, enslaving any young that wandered too far.Any other details:
That moment was a prime chance for Hemlock to show his character, but in the opposite way that his loyal followers expected: Instead of mustering up his warriors he fled the village in the night, dooming his unalert tribe to immediate capture and horrific fates of slavery and slow death under the lash. He, too, was captured later, and was given a choice: Join his tribe in slavery or join the Red Horde as a ranking officer. Further abandoning his family and friends, he chose the latter, even claiming that he simply did not know them. Since then Hemlock Yewtree has worked on many sinister Red Horde agendas, particularly Gen. Gherru's battleslave project.
