Appearance:
Age: 22 years
Species: River Otter
Gender: Male
Allegiance: Evil
Appearance:
Toriphess is tall, more so then any other beast on his ship, and full of wiry, steel muscle. His back gives sad testiment to his slavery days long past, and he is very reluctant to show them. They are increasingly visible on his blue-grey fur, and they are still a tender reminder of his past. His eyes are a pale gold, and radiate a cold, unmerciless nature. Few dare to even meet those eyes for even a scant second for fear of what they find.Belongings:
His clothes are simple, and not reminisce of a well-feared pirate captain, yet they don't diverge his fearsome presence. He has a coat of black that ends slightly above his knees. The edges of the coat(collar, hem, sleeves, etc.) are cobalt, and tribalistic-style designs along the fabric of the coat are in maroon. The coat, while held close to his waist by a black sharkskin belt, reveals some of his silver chest near his head. He has one onyx hoop on each ear, but that is all the jewelry he has. His armor, on the other hand, is slightly more than that. Two pauldrons of burnished steel rest on his shoulders, and two vambraces encase his for-arms. The armor on his right arm is completely form-fitting, but the one on the leff extends past the elbow and forms a diamond-like shield.
The Swiftraider A triple-deck, double masted ship of oak. A rail surrounds the top deck, and a large cabin sits in the rear with the tillar at the bow. The cabin is split in half, one end is his, and the other is his sisters. The mid-deck is the crew's quarters, and the lowest deck is the oar galley. Food and munitions lockers are in the bow of the crews quarters, but only the captains have the keys. The kitchen is also in the crew's quarters, in front of the lockers but behind the hammocks that the vermin crew sleep.Job or Position:
Leather Pouch A medium-sized, tanned leather pouch with leather ties rests on Toriphess' right hip. Inside are; flint, a coiled length of rope, a square of cloth, keys to his ship, a throwing dagger that doubles as a utility knife, and a polishing fluid.
Scythe His main weapon is a fearsome armament that is wielded with deadly efficiency. Its made of a single strip of steel, wrapped tightly around so it vaguely resembles a narwhale horn. At the very tip, it extends to a curved, and sharpened blade of two feet in length.
Dagger A cleaver-like blade of dark-grey steel. The sheath and the grip are of black leather, and a red garnet sets as a pommel stone. It's only his secondary weapon, so it's not used much.
Corsair Co-captainPersonality:
Closed and enigmatic to say the least. There are only two beasts on the ship that know him well, and they don't even know the full extent of his personality. He remains close-lipped most of the time, perfering actions over words, and finds trading insults unnecessary and too immaturish. Nary a curse word passes his lips, so one wonders whether or not he really is cut out to be the fearsome captain his reputation detains for him. Thos who are recruited newly on the ship make rumors and gossip umungst themselves. Older pirates often find themselves joining in whith great vigor, yet they are not, as of yet, bold enough to allow him to catch a single whisper of the rumors. Torriphess respects his sister deeply for what she did on the ship all that long ago, but love between siblings has never been aroused whithin his cold heart. His fear is of the dark, and he is horrible at negotiations(he prefers to leave it to Tori) but he is a genious tactician and finds the strategy of raids and gurilla warfare to be better than straight out battles. He imbues this doctrine on his crew, and they are starting to see the glimmer of wisdom in his words.History and Background Information:
Torriphess was born in a river holt, some three miles away from the coast, and found the love his parents heaped upon him nourishing and gratifying. But then, Tori was born. He was jelous of her, because he became all but invisible to those of his holt as they coddled the young otter babe. His envy carried him way to far, one day. He gathered his little sister up and ran the long miles to the coast, where he planned to leaver her in front of another holt(he didn't despise Tori, he didn't want her dead. He just wanted her out of his holt) However, fate conspired against him. The fierce Captain Swordfang took them aboard the Gerralis and stuffed Toriphess in the slave galley. Tori, on the other hand, was loosly shackled and left to be an overall servant to the crew.Any other details:
Toriphess spent all of his childhood in the cold, dark of the slave gally. Little food and water, no other slave seemed willing to talk to him, and his muscles were sore from hours of rowing his own, large oar. The overseer was particularly harsh on the young otter, whipping him with the bullwhip for inconsequential reasons and spilling food and drink. Starved, beaten, and weak; Toriphess would have parished in the galley were it not for the actions of Steelfur, then called Ashy, and Tori. Steelfur snuck down late at night and talked to the otter, while Tori came down at a different time and soothed his wounds, gave him sips of water, and tidbits of food. Finally, the three planned a mutiny, and little 'Ashy' began it. In the ensuing chaos, Tori stole weapons for her(a wicked knife) and her brother(his scythe) as well as the few spirited slaves. Swordfang and most of his most loyal crew were cast overboard(dead) and Toriphess took the ship as a joint ownership between him and his sister. He decided to pay back those who wouldn't stand against Swordfang when he came through the Moss, and so became a Corsair
His first mate is Steelfur
His Co-captain and sister is Tori
