It's that time of year again! The regular season of the NFL is about to kick off! So I thought it was fitting to bring back the football debate thread.
After an extremely sharp and perfect preseason, my team, the Seattle Seahawks seem poised to retake their crown and dominate the NFC West. Matt Hasselbeck is healthy, and looked really good when he played in the preseason, the defense was forcing lots of turnovers, putting pressure on the quarterback, and our receiving core is very strong, not to forget Justin Forset and John Carlson, (Running back, and Tight end, which are both assets to the passing game.)
So, to sum that up, I think the 'Hawks are going to take the NFC by storm again, (like in 2005, till the Steelers payed the refs in superbowl 40 *growls.*) Anyway, my team looks poised to get going again. The Emerald City is getting ready for some serious football, so am I.
In conclusion.....
GO 12TH MAN!!!!!!!!!!! GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In response: Steelers kick butt yet again. The only game they didn't win this preseason is when Ben didn't suit up and Batch was injured.
THe first-line defense is perfect, no touchdowns allowed, and Harrison didn't even suit up for the last game

Kick butt? The Steelers haven't kicked butt fairly since the 70s! LOL!
I just hope that Ben gets destroyed this season, and some defensive guys step it up and place some illegal hits on the Steelers like the Steelers gave to everybody that played them. I know you didn't, but when big ole Darnell Docket hit Ben, I was cheering. Too bad the refs only fine real teams that play fair, and let all those dirty hits and end zone celebrations go without penalty for the Steelers. Lets just hope the better team wins in the AFC and Ray Lewis gets the second ring he deserves.

Ray Lewis doesn't deserve jack.
Besides, I hate Ben too.......he's a tool.
And what illegal hits? Ward's hit was legal! Of course it's not now, thanks to more rules turning this into a pansy-league

Ray Lewis is one of the best linebackers EVER! Come on, Kal! You've got to give him that. He's a future Hall Of Famer, and tougher than any of those dirty Steelers. Except maybe that linebacker from the 70s, I think his name was Jack Lambert. Now that guy was a true in your face kind of defensive player, one of the best ever, even though he played on the Steelers.
But, YEAH! Ben stinks. I'm glad Matt Hasselbeck is healthy again, now the coolest guy in the NFL can bring his team back to victory. Matt isn't trash like Big Ben and you couldn't compare his skills to Peyton Manning, but he's got to be the most decent guy in football. Especially compared to all those other retarded people that play the game.
I'm talking about how Steelers players put all these big hits on people year long, and in the superbowl, the Cardinals DT, (I think it was Darnell Docket) made one hit on Ben and the stupid refs called it roughing the passer! I mean come on, the Steelers did that year round and the one time somebody else does it the cheating refs throw the flag!

Um, for the record, Ben is the most knocked-around QB in the league. If they called everytime he got hit, they wouldn't even have to actually make a play. Besides, Harrion's amazing, Farrior's amazing, Porter's amazing, Gildon's amazing.....(or were, before they left the Steelers)

Harrison is NOT amazing. Did you see what he did to that Cardinals safety in the superbowl? When Harrison started beating Alan Francisco? (I think that was his name) That was amazingly dirty, man. He should have been ejected from the game.
Anyway, the Seahawks put a beating down on the Rams. 28 to nothing! This Sunday they're playing the 49ers, which should be a good game. But Seattle should win, cuz if Arizona's defense shut down Frank Gore, the Seahawks sure can. That's my prediction. For the Steelers game, I'd guess the Bears will lose. Jay Cutler really needs to grow up and stop acting like a big baby, plus Brian Urlacher is out for the season. So, the Steelers have the advantage. But I'm still pulling for the Bears to pull out a win.

LOL I have to take back what I said about the Packers, Kip. That team has got some skill! When I watched that game, their defense was great, and Aaron Rodgers is a good quarterback. Green Bay owns the NFC North!

And which player currently holds the longest play in Superbowl history? I think that would be............JAMES HARRISON! THE 104-YARD INTERCEPTION RETURN! and you know what? They threw him down on his head when they tackled him. HOW'S THAT FOR DIRTY PLAYING, EH!?

In my opinion, any "good" play is offset by the character of the guy making the play. So when Harrison plays dirty and unsportsmanlike, it doesn't matter what else he does. In my opinion. Just like Terrel Owens. That guy is certainly a great player (or he was a few years back) but he is cancer in the locker room. Harrison is just like T. O. They both play good, but in their own way, they both put a bad taste in my mouth. And don't whine about that tackle. The Steelers did that all year. It's funny, a guy who used to play for the Raiders back when they were good, (in the 70s) said that Steelers fans loved it when their guys took out people, but the moment that a Steeler player took a big hit, the Pittsburgh fans would get upset about the hit. Even their head coach accused the Raiders of playing dirty, when the Steelers played the same way. Same thing today I suppose. If you want an example of a guy who plays hard like Harrison and Polamalu, just without playing dirty or talking and looking like a girl, here he is; John Lynch, on of the hardest hitting guys ever to play in the NFL. www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_1Qsqo5w9M&feature=relatedOr even Brian Dawkins. That guy is a beast. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnBt00wD4Ks&feature=related

Hey, stupid Hines Ward got what he deserved when ole John Lynch put that big hit on him. And it's not dirty when a defender makes a tackle like that, especially back when it was legal.
They get better each year? HA! Did you even watch the Chicago Bears destroy them? And the Bears did it without one of the best linebackers in the game, Brian Urlacher. (Who is ten times better than Farrior or whatever his name is.)
Have you seen how Joe Flacco is developing? That guy is getting pretty good. I can't wait to see the Ravens square off against the Steelers; that is going to be an awesome game. With Flacco playing so good, if he can keep that up, the Ravens will probably win, especially because of that defense. Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and company own AFC North!

If he's ten times better than Harrison, why didn't HE have Defender of the year last year?
And Polamalu wasn't in, so we were missing a big part of our defense too. We would have won if Reed hadn't had a major foulup.
