Alright, so the site might be reorganized due to a new plot in the works, a prequel of all prequels in the Redwall universe. I shall give whomever desires to read this a rundown of the idea, and the conditions it places upon different locations found in the original novels. Before the time of Verdauga Greeneyes and his Thousand Eye Horde, a gleaming fortress loomed over the trees of Mossflower wood, inhabited by a ruthless and organized army of Vermin as well as their woodlander slaves finishing construction of the immense fortress. Fear and doubt is spread far across the land as the final pieces of a young empire fall into place, stone by stone.
And so it is that Kotir is born, in an age of fear, of despair and oppression, poised to grip the countryside in a stranglehold. What hope the woodlanders might have had against this towering threat has been all but snuffed out, due to the divisions between their tribes, and the might of the bloodstone fortress, curbing even the most noble and courageous beasts into silence.
This is the age of fear. The age of bloodshed. This, is the reign of Kotir. *Description subject to change* Places affected in the Redwall universe: - Redwall Abbey- The abbey does not exist, leaving woodlanders without a central location to gather in times of war and peace.
- Brockhall- Before its lengthy list of unsavory residents, the Lady Sable Brock and her kin made their ancestral home here
- Salamandastron- The mountain fortress stands guard on the coast as it always has, drawing Badger Lords and hares from faraway places to defend their land from invading armies of corsairs.
- Castle Floret- The castle of Southsward stands tall, still an icon of power and safety to goodbeasts who reside within the region.
- Castle Marl- The castle in the Great Inland lake has not yet been built, leaving the isle free of vermin inhabitants, for a time.
- Loamhedge Abbey- In a desert oasis, the populated Abbey now finds itself in grave danger, as a plague sweeps across its inhabitants, spreading panic and death in its wake.
*Any other places of importance added as needed.*

I like it, but then that raises the big question of "What's going to happen to all of the characters that are tied in with Redwall Abbey?"

it will definitely be a big change. a lot of threads and characters will need to be archived and modified but i think it will be good for us to start again from scratch.

It sounds good.
There is one obscure piece of Redwall lore that you might have forgotten and you could work into it though.
In 'The Legend of Luke' Martin's grandmother tells a song about St Ninians Church. We then find out that the tribe lived in St Ninians until the arrivial of Verdauga Greeneyes.
However you say that this is pre then. Therefore you mentioned the need for someone to come and unite the woodland forces. It could be Martin's great-great-great-great-grandmouse. Anyway its just an idea you could work with.

You have a very good memory Skip. It wouldnt be impossible to fit St Ninians in to the plot. We could always fit in a tribe of mice to the woodland creatures. Thoughts everyone?

(double posting haha. i can do that cause it's my site. see)
anywho i'm typing up the bit of "Legend of Luke" that applies so you all can 'member it, starting with the song Windred(Martin's grandmum) sings:
Old Ninian mouse and his goodwife, Needed a house to build, They had a family grown so large, Their tent was overfilled.
To setting sun the old wife toiled, From daybreak in the east, But Ninian was a lazy mouse, Who loved to sleep and feast.
The wife heaved stone and carried wood, For door and wall and beam, While Ninian idly in daylight, Snored on in peaceful dream.
She raised the gables, built a roof, Her back was bent and sore, As Ninian ate up all the food, And loudly called for more.
So when the house at last was built, His wife nailed up a sign, Which stated 'THIS AINT NINIANS!' She said, 'That shows 'tis mine!'
Then when the countless seasons passed, And all within had died, The rain and storm of ages long Had swept the sign outside.
It washed the first three letters out, But left the rest intact. That sign now reads, 'S AINT NINIANS!' A church? A joke? A fact!
So traveler if you read the sign, Then take my word 'tis true: A dreamer can become a saint, So can a glutton too!
Welff applauded with the rest, chuckling and shaking her head at Windred's song.
"Tell me, Windred m'dear, is it true, is there such a place as Saint Ninian's, or is it really a joke?"
Luke answered for her. " 'Tis a fact, marm. I was born at Saint Ninian's, as was Sayna my poor dear wife. We were driven out, when I was a babe, by an evil warlord, a wildcat named Lord Greeneye Verdauga who had a horde of vermin at his command, so they told me, but I was far too young to remember. This is our home now, and nobeast will ever drive us from here while I am about."
so yes dearies. Ninian and his home will come into play in our little plot. I'm actually thinking of subtitling the whole thing: Ninian's Scroll.

Cool, well I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it in the Prologue. When do you think it will be ready?

I think the song was just a joke though. Though yes, Saint Ninian's did exist at least that far back and probably further, since they lived there and did not build it.

I would agree with you about the song being a joke but certainly you could use the tribe of mice and the church as an aspect of the story. But I've already stuck my rudder into the mix with my suggestion about Martin's grand, grand, grand greatmouse.

From tone of the song sounds more like Ninian might have been an ancestor of Gonff

the staff are actively trying to figure out what lands will be playable and what they were called way back when. What do you non staffers think. please give us some ideas. Are there nothing but trees and monitors on Sampetra? What's going on on Terramort long before Gabool? are there only mice at Loamhedge?
