((Please see Simon the Wanderer's Profile in "Approved Characters" before posting here. And if you don't mind, please PM me if you plan on RPing with me! Thank you!))
Simon the Wanderer had heard tales of a large Searat with a deformed leg limping around in the Southern area of Mossflower. He would make his way down there to see if this rat was Garlow the Fierce.
But first! He would not trouble himself with the hunt for his father's crown yet. He had a job to do. Some band of vermin had stolen a family heirloom from a small family of moles, and they had requested that he get it back.
Simon the Wanderer was on the hunt for treasure!

In the trees above a pair of emerald green eyes watched with gle as Simon continued on his path. A big bushy tail curved in between her tufted ears, and a excited smile rested on her face. I get to go on a treasure hunt! Oh joy! The creature thought to herself. Of course she had never even asked the Pine Marten if it was alright. This sweet little dear was well known for taking leaps and bounds without thinking. Then again maybe she hought about them , and decided that leaps and bounds were the best course of action. Cinna Marie paved and paced her own path--hell she didn't even seem to care that below her was a creature normally considered a vermin.
A gentle smile cresting her muzzle she leaped from the branch she was crouched on, and using a nearby trunk for footholds, she quickly made her way to the ground, and took up pace with Simon.
"Where are we going to get the moles thingy back? Will their be danger? I HOPE SO! Oh this will be so much fun! Why so quiet? I shocked you huh? Of course I did. Or is it my beauty, hehe?" The squirell maiden jabbered, not taking so much as a short breath in between sentences. Her speech became one horribly distorted jarble of random words that didn't seem to fit together. But osmeone with sensitive ears would easily understand what she was asking.
At least the pitch of her voice made it seem as if she was asking questions.
Bounding ahead of Simon she continued to chatter--acting as if this kindhearted vermin was her friend of liftimes--and not a new acquaintance. "Oh a Maple tree! A thrush! A berry bush--a pair of eyes in the bushes--Oh a shiny Rock--" It seemed that her constant gab would never end, and in all reality maybe it wouldn't. But if he asked politely? Well she'd be glad to answer any questions he had.
Such as: Who are you?

((Is she going to follow Simon right into the vermin?))
"Ummm... Who might you be, little one?" Simon asked the energetic squirrel. Normally being kind, Simon was not going to shove the squirrel off, but he did not want to give his position away to any vermin that might be in the area. Simon preferred stealth, and he was going to use it, one way or the other...

"Oh hOW RUDE OF ME! I am the noble miss Cinna Marie--but keep it to Cinna please! marie is so nasty and formal! I know your named Simon--I watched you talking to those moles. How nice of you--getting their heirloom back. For a vermin you sure are very nice! Yes you are." The Squirell maid babbled, taking his short quesition, and using it as a excuse for her rather long parade of words. Bowing slightly she resumed looking around the forest--looking like a ignorant naiive maiden, who thought that she was perfectly safe. But if one watched her ears closely, they swiveled to and fro, listening for any out of place noises and such.
Dancing away from Simon she skittered up a nearby tree. "Well Let's go this way!" She yelled pointing in the direction they were currently walking, and with a wiggle of her tail she began running through the treetops, yelling for the world to see.
Such a loud, obnoxious, gullible, and naiive lass hmm? Or was that just what our dear sweet Cinna wanted you to thinK?

"... I thought the vermin went over here...?" Simon mused aloud, indicating the opposite direction Cinna wanted to go in. "Miss Cinna? I think we should go over here. I'm sure the moles said that the vermin ran North." Simon was blessed with perception, and he sensed something was slightly amiss. This squirrel was very, very bubbly. He noticed that she seemed to be more attentive than most "brainless" creatures he had run across in his travels. Despite Simon's peaceful demeanor, he was quite shrewd and knew that he would have to make this squirrel comply... if she was to come with him.

"Sure enough, that's where your kind are. But you don't have to go with them. They'll be following you soon enough." said a voice from the trees. Seconds later, a longbow shaft struck directly in front of Simon's footpaws. "Now what are ye doing in my stretch of the woods, eh? I don't let vermin roam my territory." The voice was gruff, obviously irritated. Kal was completely invisible among the foliage of the trees, moving about with not even a rustle to give away where he was.

Simon had been in countless stealth interactions in his past, and he wasn't going to let any bitter creature faze him. "'My kind'? Sir, you must realize that I am on my way to get a family heirloom back to a family of moles. I must not be stalled, vermin thieves tend to be fleet."
Simon greatly wished he wasn't held up by these creatures, but oh well...

"I can do that perfectly well. First, I'm going to make sure that you don't ruin any other beast's life, just like the rest of you. Unless you can convince me otherwise, you have a minute to live." said the disembodied voice, from another location.

"Didn't you see that squirrelmaid that just ran through here? Tell me other 'vermin' wouldn't harm her." Simon said. He wished this stealthy one would show himself. He had no fear of creatures he could see. He recalled the time he had to subdue a group of mad hares with his bare paws because they thought he was evil. They couldn't have been further from the truth. He did not wish to harm any goodbeasts(if this one was a goodbeast, that is), but he would defend himself if needed.

"Hostages make great bargaining chips." said the voice, lower on the trunk. Suddenly, an older male gray squirrel dropped out of the trees, longbow at the ready and a long, three sided knife at his belt. His frame looked wiry, but his eyes were flat, emotionless. They bored into Simon like a drill.

Simon constrained himself. "You're not going to kill me." He said. No ice, no warmth, no emotion, not even the slightest tint of reason in it. He just said this and turned his back to the squirrel. Then he continued walking north, all but forgetting the squirrel. Simon knew goodbeasts, and he knew that if this one wasn't evil, he would be fine. But if he was, then Simon would have to do something about it. He was ready... waiting... waiting...

The squirrel maiden stopped midstep--her face blazing red. "I was just testing you Simon. You know that? But you did not. Well of course you passed--if you couldn't find the way North then those Moles would not have hired you." With a smle she turned on the branch, and began running in the opposite direction. The other squirrel's presence was felt as a slight tremor in the branches, and with a sigh she climbed higher. Now she was above the other squirrel and two trees to the left of him. Her green eyes blazed with curiousity as she watched him talk to Simon, the vagrant curiousity soon turned to worry. This was one vieolent untrusi]ting squirell!
"Well they don't make great baargaining chips if they have no idea who they are old one. Or did not ye happen to know that?" Cinna inquired from her higher perch, staring down at the other squirell with narrowed nostrils. Then just like that it ended, Simon walking away with a very foolhardy statement.
So with a nod CInna jumped to te next tree over, and continued North, pausing to fix the old gray squirell with a glare.

Kal leapt back into the tree and followed Cinna. "You'd best keep a civil tounge in your head, missie. Its going to get you in a lot of trouble." he said, pacing her. "Especially to those older than you." Kal had no problems keeping up. He went much faster than this usually, and for much longer periods of time.

Simon looked back over his shoulder to see if the creatures were following him, but not even he could see the stealthy squirrels. He shrugged and continued trekking north towards the vermin thieves. He went silently, quickly, and gracefully, like a swan over water. He never made a sound...

"Why sir I am perfectly civil--have I said anything to offend you? Ih is this about that old comment--my apologies--I meant well aged." The female squirell replied with a dazzling smile, which was distored as a branch obscured Kal's view of her. "May I ask what made you go fro mwanting to kill Sir Simon to helping us? huh? I can right? Wlell of course I can. You are excited to be treasure hunting as well? Of course you are!" The mannerful lady speech had disappeared- and had been replaced by her normal hyper, high pitched voice. The shell around her neck was like a drum to anyone nearby. "Why would it bother them that I am polite and tactful? Why!? No secrets!" Cinna yelled, a pout present on her features.
No matter how silent Simon was, the two in the tres had lost the element of surprise But if they only suspected squirrells---then would Simon be able to do more damge? Since the treasure was likely kept on the ground it was now just a simple matter of grab and get.
Not that she thought that far ahead--it was just nice to talk.
