"Thanks, Tamar. That means quite a bit coming from you..." Garret said, then he noticed the hares mobilizing, and heard as the alarm was raised. "Now you have the oppertunity to fight alongside me, Tamar." were the fox's parting words, as he rushed off to the gate, waiting to deliver a nasty surprise to any beast that got in.

Tamar watched the fox go, glad that the animosity was over between them. Then she looked up towards the main gate but she didn't see Silas right away. Her eyes traveled along the wall top until she spotted him. She smiled, waving with her grandfather's bow. "Lieutenant Mooreland reporting for duty, Sir." She saluted him. "Where do you want me stationed?"

William came out from the great hall after having supper and noticed everyone mobilizing. Laughing at himself he said "Great, why do I always have tae be the last one here?" Quickly making his way towards the main, he climbed the stairs and looked to his fellow defenders there with him.
"Och aye, is there anything out there mate?" He could hear movement down below, but Badgers aren't known for their hearing. He couldn't distinguish if it was friend or foe just by the way it sounded. Though if it was the enemy... Well they'd be tasting cold steel very soon. Very soon indeed.

As he approached Tamar, Silas smiled a bit, glad that the issue between her and the fox had been resolved. But as a long patrol hare rushed over to them in some form of haste, his foreboding feeling returned, and the smile disappeared from his face as he grew serious and listened in. He knew something bad would happen...
Was it now?
-------------------------------
"You idiots! You dolts! I said stay hidden!" A quite angry voice hissed as silently as its owner could manage as twoscore vermin shifted about near the north wallgate. The owner, a sinister, green-eyed fox of average height and coloration, worn and holed cloak wrapped about his shoulders, was lying in the grass at the edge of the forest. The moonlight lit up his green gaze for a moment as he commanded his small force. He growled at a nearby ferret.
"Ringtail! Tell everyone to spread out! QUIETLY!"
The ferret, a slim, skinny beast glared at the fox, (uttering something like "Aye, Cap'n Zalu...") He then went off to tell the orders to the others.
Meanwhile the fox sat and waited, watching the beasts on the wall. Long patrol hares? Well, That would prove to be more of a challenge... He continued to growl and scowl silently in the dark. He was meters away from his goal, and ultimately, revenge.
"I'll take the place, make them slaves..." He mutters to himself, rehearsing his future plan, "...All but the squirrels.
They're dead."

Garret stood at the ready, then he realised something. They have huge amounts of wood for the fires here. If we dumped some of it on their heads... he thought, then tore off accross the lawn, raced up the wallsteps, and ran over to Silas "My fellow, the firewood, we can use it as a drop trap. Rain down wooden hell upon their heads!"

Tamar raced up the wallsteps. If the hare had something important to say to Silas, she wanted to hear it too. She skidded in beside him just as the hare was beginning to make his report. Tamar looked back and forth from the hare to the squirrel. She was shaking but it was more with anticipation than fear. She knew she would be able to calm herself before she drew her bow.

Silas looked back at Tamar as she approached, and welcomed her standing by him, though his expression was serious. Garret called out to him, and rushed forth as well, but he held up a paw to visually say 'quiet, please', as he awaited the hare's report. He then turned back to the hare, his own bow already in paw. "Uh, yeah?" He asked.

((Because I want him to be. He won't die. I mean, come on. A black mouse running through the abbey grounds, don't you think that that is a little bit suspect? and the alarm is being raised silently, not by shouting etc.))

((Tom volunteers... I guess...)) Meanwhile, Tom looked about the Abbey, seeing that everything was well in order. However, there was a dark shape rushing across the grounds. He muttered a curse under his breath, and took out his shortbow, the one he had re-learned how to use just yesterday. He sighted in on his target along the shaft set on his string. After that, he let the arrow fly a few meters ahead of the beast so that the arrow would hit him when he reached that point in his movement. ---------------------------- ((Moving on... Squirrelboy didn't see the messanger now... )) "Hey, Tamar." He greeted the squirrelmaid with a loving smile. Seeing her resolve her issue with Garret was good, but now the fox was urging him to throw some wood at beasts outside the Abbey. He looked at the fox, puzzled. "...Who? Are we under attack?" No one tells me anything today... He thinks, reminescing about the Marlfox's interrogation.

Bryan was running for all he was worth when the arrow came speeding out of the darkness and hit him in the shoulder. surprised, he fell. "Fierfek!" he whispered. Struggling to his feet, he finally located Silas and staggered up the steps and collapsed at his feet, gasping out "Sergeant Longshot *gasp* says that there's*grunt* vermin approaching the north wall." With that, Bryan slumped to the wall top, unconscious.

"Sweet Martin," Tamar breathed hurring over to the black mouse. "He's been shot." She looked at the shoulder wound and then back up at Silas. "I might need some help getting him up to the infirmary if we can't get him to wake up." She had already started to try and lift him and was patting his cheek gently with her paw. It seemed when action was necessary she was ready to do whatever was called for.
