This is a nice idea, taken from our good friends at ToRA (Tales of Redwall Abbey, not to be confused with us), and it runs something like this. If you'd like to post up songs that represent your characters, threads, the site, put them here! But I would suggest that links should not be included, merely the title of the song and the artist, to keep the page nice and clean ;D Though we will see what happens there. I will go first:
Silas - More than a Feeling/Long Time/Rock 'n' Roll Band by: Boston
(Compulsory explanation) Silas is best represented by the pure American rock, being largely from the Midwest (Michigan, Indiana, Illinois). And of course, he is the lead guitarist in the local TFM band, a nice, casual and friendly beast both on and off the stage, whether acting or playing his guitar.
Sergei- Been Down So Long by The Doors
Sergei is a very layered, complex character, a realist with a crunchy outer shell, mainly expressing himself through drawings rather than in-depth conversation with most folks. He prefers blues-y songs, since he was pretty much raised on the genre as a youth. Though of course pretty much all of the songs by The Doors could describe him and his character, in addition to many other things.
Ghost- Mushcream Caravan/Iron Fist/Human Volume by the Brain Police
Ghost is kind of an overlooked character, at least in terms of acting ability, though he makes up for it by being involved in many other things at TFM, such as set construction, playing bass guitar in the band with Silas, and audio/video editing, to name a few. Ghost is of distant Scandinavian relation, which means he is prone to bouts of awesome "Viking tunes", as he calls them.
(Not really a standard format for things, just felt like explaining a little bit about the characters being mentioned, in relation to the Madness threads.)

(especially the lines of the song "She's done things i've never expected" and "She's got one in the oven, but it's nothin' to do with me.")

((double posting evil grin))
Tamar - something by Patsy Cline or early Beatles especially "If I Fell" or "I'm Happy Just to Dance With You"
Tamar's a sweet innocent Tennessee squirrelgirl. so somesort of early 60s pop or country-pop probably fits her best. She's in love for the very first time, TFM is her first big job, and she's as happy as can be. ((If I fell was written by Paul and John for George and a girl named Patty who played one of the school girls in Hard Day's Night and George ended up marrying her))

Ashlyn- Dungeons and Drag-ons/This Route, This Life by Still of the Fox
In addition to pride in her Ukranian culture, Ash' is very accepting and open with otherbeasts, unless she feels that they won't respect her or her opinions and thoughts. An optomist, this vixen is very hard to put down, especially on the job. She likes the soothing melodies and subtle beats, naturally represented by an out of the way Californian band, though from time to time Ukranian folk songs take precedence over such things.
The Story of Sergei (page 1, post 1)- S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat All Guitar and Harmonica songs part 2 (0:00-1:57, Searchable on Youtube) by Alexy Omelchuk
I thought that the guitar segment in that particular youtube video fit well with the introduction to the Story of Sergei, which is why I put up an OOC thing describing everything as a movie introduction with guitar music.

The weasel sisters Kolia and Moll - Different People by No Doubt.
Even though they've never appeared as sisters in the plot threads they are sisters in the Madness. and there's a verse from this song that goes, "So different, yet so the same, two sisters have only their parents to blame. It's rare that two can get along but when they do, they're inseparable." Their parents were married because of Moll and divorced because of Kolia and Moll has always been really protective of her little sis.
Individually:
Kolia - Just a Girl by No Doubt. another Gwen Stefani tune for ms Kolia because she always seems to be most comfortable as the one girl in a group of guys. After growing up with just her mom and big sis in a dance studio she now tends to hang out with the Darkfang brothers and their friends. She still manages to keep her girliness but finds a nice escape from Moll's sheltering.
Moll - I've Got to See You Again by Norah Jones Molly was in her element growing up in her mom's studio. She has a natural grace and loves to dance to just about any style of music especially jazz and classical. Norah Jones would be one of her favs and I could have listed any number of songs off of the Come Away With Me album. This particular song is a bit of a tango and the lyrics reflect the way she feels when Sergei has to be away on business.

Kejan- Shuffle Your Feet by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club Kejan (Pronounced Keh-gen) is probably the only character I have not included on the site, since he isn't technically a Redwall character, in the correct era or any of that. Though, he is furry, a furry alien that stands about four feet tall. He had his luck run out a few times, denying himself the lucrative and dangerous profession of espionage, despite a family history on the subject. He ended up becoming a doctor, or at least as close to a doctor as you can get without being human. With the war and all, that made him a combat medic, and that whole experience embedded a certain pessimism inside him. Even so, he takes most things with a casual air, and/or a grain of salt. Quite hard to describe, anyway. Song fits nicely. "I never thoguht I'd see it comin', I never thought I'd ever know. Nothing seems to take me over, Nothing seems to let me go. Who knows if I'll see you again? Who knows if I'll see you again."

See, my characters aren't expressed by words, but by the music itself. Consequently, they all are soundtracks from various games. Though mostly Halo: Reach. (Epic music)
Gavin - Halo: Reach OST - Ghosts and Glass
Compulsory Explanation - Gavin's life started peacefully, albeit strained as a result of his black fur in a white snowy environment. He meets the love of his life and she returns the feelings. But as time passed, his relations with the rest of the pack grew even more strained, to the point of multiple fights. So he and his mate leave the northern lands to move south. However, they are ambushed by vermin and she is mortally wounded, later dying in Gavin's arms. He swears revenge on her killers.
Lieutenant Jeremy Beauregard - Halo: 3 OST - The Covenant(One Final Effort)
Compulsory Explanation - Jeremy is a bold and brave hare of the Long Patrol, ready for anything, but tempered by his love for Ally, the daughter of a supposedly slain Captain.
--More to come--

Halo soundtracks are always nice. I prefer Halo 2 though, only because the music is kind of dark and reverent in places, which would fit my idea of the whole game universe. Thing. ;D
Anywho, I just found another song for Sergei, that practically fits him word for word:
Sergei - Golden Egg by I (Otherwise known as "That I Am") This song fits his character excellently, though he may not favor the particular genre of music the song is in off the set. It just represents everything, his search for a purpose, his smouldering resentment towards his parents, and the feeling of utter futility underscoring his life despite his attempts to mask it. Sure, it's a sad song, but it's supposed to be that way. And it's a good contrast to Silas in the plotline.
(I just threw it up there since the song itself is harder to locate than most.)

I agree, Halo 2 was more reverent, but that's due to the environment. Halo: Reach took place exclusively on and around the Human colony world Reach, so the music would be different than the places frequented by the Covenant, who take a much more religious view.

Hypothetical Site Video music/Site Theme - A Pane in the Glass by Fireflyworlds (Searchable on Youtube)
Speakin' o' the dark and reverent stuff, I just so happened on an old game of mine, Stronghold Crusader. It has quite an intro theme that I thought fit nicely into the time period, a tale of good and evil passed down through the ages, a victorious if tragic story, as the haunting vocals would suggest, especially near the end. Might even be other works that fit quite well from the same composer. Heck, I just like the sound of it, mainly.

(Double Post, matey!)
Song in Current Madness thread, P.5 - Live to Forget by Firelake (Original Ukrainian)
I felt I should put this up here, to give all of ye a better idea of the song. It seemed to fit nicely with the Story of Sergei/U235 threads, and after all it is included in a sequel to the game that inspired the thread's creation. Actually played the game through recently, and I heard the song for the first time, accompanied by distant thunder outside. Needless to say, it was cool ;D
