Age: 34
Species: Blackwood Genet (Looks like today's Common Spotted Genet)
Gender: Male
Allegiance: Evil
Appearance:
There not many ancient pictures, carvings, statues or documentation of the appearance of genets. Which leads to most of the world to believe they do not even exist.Belongings:
but there are individuals who claimed to have encountered them, survived them, even escaped them after being captured by them. Most of these individuals are Middle Kingdoms beasts who survived Blackwood Genet attacks.
The description they have given to beasts willing to listen to them is that they are very cat-like in appearance, but have longer muzzles and much longer tails. They lack pupils, but are claimed to be able to see extremely well, indicated by claims that their eyes glowed like those of a cat.
Their body shape is slender yet firm. Showing a agile, swift and strong climber and possible fighter if required, but rarely actively goes into the middle of a battlefield themselves unless overly angered or necessary.
Claims are made that they have a mixture of black spots and stripes on their coats, they have ringed tails and black tipped ears. their coat color ranges from the color of desert sand to gray colors.
Survivors said they eat both vegetation and meat. Making them omnivorous.
Anyway this genet had a gray coat, black spots and stripes, a ringed tail, a single striped muzzle, black tipped ears, glowing aqua colored eyes, claws like a cat's, a loosely jointed body capable of squeezing in whatever spaces it's head can fit through and a muzzle full of slightly yellowish teeth like a doberman.
This one's ears also hold precious metals and dark purple gem stones for earrings.
Black wood genets are commonly propagandized and worshiped as almost God-like entities. Therefore they get the best of everything. They are often seen clad in robes or light clothing, depending on what they wish to do in life. Some stay home, and some go terrorize the Southern Deserts or the Middle Kingdoms.Job or Position:
This genet is clad in a shirt and breeches that has a faintly skin hugging fabric that is flexible, yet firm enough that branches can't catch it easily. In fact. If it was not for the belt. It could fool you into thinking it was a jumpsuit. This is topped with a leather cuirass that is full of lops to hold stiletto-like daggers that can be thrown at a close target if need-be. The genet is also armored with leather vambraces, and leather armor that protects the legs and stomach too. The leather is made from killing a creature that must have been carnivorous and tough. As the armor is capable of withstanding slashes from a sword as well as chainmail can. It also is decent defense against slingstones and arrows. Though arrows like bodkins will likely punch through the armor easily.
The belt and frogs are made of the same type of leather, but it is black instead of dark brown. It also houses strange metal that protects the belt and frogs from being severed.
This genet's sword is unique to others due to the fact it once was a immense war club called a "kanabo" from the far, far Eastern Jungles, it was a war club during "The Gathering of Ambition" event. Where dozens upon dozens of weapons were made for various rulers throughout the Far East from a big "star" that fell from the sky. This particular club was long ago used by a large and powerful Red Panda warlord, but eventually. It found it's way from there, to a Eastern Kingdoms' noble and from there to the Western Kingdoms under a knight's possession. Where it was melted and remade into a bastard sword and a shield. This particular knight would be one of few to cast aside the belief that Death Lights where supernatural occurrences that came to destroy villages, towns and sometimes small fortresses and would follow one off into distant lands near the Blackwood Forests.
He was right in his belief. Instead, he would fight against Vazaraat's army near the border of the Blackwood Forest. Unfortunately, his forces were not prepared for the strange weaponry and tactics Vazaraat would employ against him and he soon met his end at the genet's paw. His possessions on him were confiscated, especially his sword and shield which Vazaraat would find out while fighting some of the local wildlife in Blackwood forest that they were like not any other sword and shield he had ever seen and used before.
He would have this sword and shield melted and remade into a pair of swords that looked like any others the genets carried, but only he knew that his were "special" compared to the others....
Genet swords, unlike the swords used by their soldiers, tend to be straight and double edged. Another thing unlike swords of most cultures outside Blackwood territory is that the blade starts out normal but progressively gets wider, although it does come back down sharply for a tip, thrusting is obviously not it's intended role. Although the weapon itself looks heavy and long. It's actually light enough to be used one pawed! Though the end of the blade is heavier than the other end, having hacking limbs off and beheading in mind, a much less cruel end comparing to their armies machete/sabre swords with BARBED backs used for raking, tearing and disemboweling a enemy. Like other Blackwood swords, this one features something also unique to other cultures involves a "X" guard instead of the cup, basket or cross guard. It has a pointed pommel and it's handle is often wrapped in something similar to ray skin.
This particular genet's paws are both equally good, allowing him to use two swords at once with expert swords....beast....ship... something. xP
Finally. To top the entire dress up. We have a thin robe which reaches down to the knees. It's body is made from loose fabric, but the sleeves are more skin tight. It's embroiled with strange terrifying symbols and markings, the presence of a few cloth straps buttoned a little past the mid point and more near the bottom of this coat/robe helps to keep it from flowing away from the body in the heat of a fight. It's also decorated in bone, precious metals and jewelry.
All genets also have a helmet, made out of solid blackwood, it's shaped much like a demonic entity, which twisted horns that point upward like a pitch fork and eye holes where those glowing eyes can see through. The helmet is wooden, but the teeth used to decorate the "upper jaw" appear to be very real. From the mouth of a savage wild creature from the deep, cruel and unforgiving Blackwood Forest. All these teeth are canines (fangs)...
Genets are leaders of their populations. Considered demi-gods that if served faithfully. Will be aided by the genet's dead ancestors, who would light them through the Blackwood culture's version of hellgates "The Abyss" to salvation....Personality:
This genet is a lot like other genets. They are the almost literal forefathers/mothers of brainwashing. Which makes them master manipulators and liars.History and Background Information:
They are also strict, cruel, blunt, and unyielding when it came to their laws. They forbid any beast to question them or their morals and laws. Although never considered "evil" by their disciples, they would become horribly angered and enraged if anybeast insulted them and their morals/laws, and tend to torture their foes before killing them. Showing a almost demonic ruthless side of themselves.
Despite this. They are seen by their "touched in the head" subjects as just/fair creatures who lead them to near endless victories through their intelligence and strategic abilities.
This particular genet though differs from his sistren and brethren though because of his more obsessive compassion with warfare, guerrilla fighting, spying and strategy.
Born like any other Genet in a cliff-side fortress in the tree top villages of Blackwood Forest. Vazaraat grew up to be one of those genets who prefered warfare and action over just laying around sipping the finest wines and swimming and whatever their armies bring back from their yearly raids, but Vazaraat took it to new levels. He would constantly try new tactics and try inventing new weaponry to use against his foes. He also often sent spies or brainwashed captured citizens to spy on any future targets he planned to storm and raid against in order to learn how they tick and how to appropriately fight them and thoughout the years has even wrote everything down in journals, he plans someday in the future when he is too old to keep going out to put everything he has written down and rewrite it all into a book which he will call. "The Art of Strategic Warfare." Basically a "how-to" guide for future genets who wish to be effective military leaders and raiders.Any other details:
He first left the Blackwood forest at eighteen and has done raids and attacks in the Southern Deserts and the Middle Kingdoms for over sixteen years now and has accomplished a lot throughout those years. He has stolen hundreds of pounds worth of treasure, killed thousands and destroyed several dozen forts, large towns and even a small castle at one time. He had constantly won many battles against South Desert and Middle Kingdoms forces that dared persued them back to their territory or suddenly out in the deserts, employed many tactics and weaponry against them. He had seen grand warriors and raiders in his army come into the world and leave the world....
Now. Finally having enough of fighting the same enemies throughout the years.Vazaraat decides to go farther West into unknown territory, that territory eventually leading on into Mossflower woods.....
Genet culture is full of trickery, lies, manipulation and death. Each individual genet has it's own "family" territory in the massive reign of Blackwood. Though despite this, they are commonly working together, especially if a big heist or assault is at paw. While some genets prefer to live their lives at their dark, cliff-side and mountain fortresses, some ought to temporary leave their strongholds and bring their armies to cause havoc in the Southern Deserts and Middle Kingdoms. Often doing their reigns of terror at night. The Vermin of Blackwood territory are different from their cousins. There are no foxes and ferrets in genet armies. Only Stoats, Weasels, Rats and a race (species) of ancient mammals known as "Rakkards."
Blackwood stoats, weasels and rats are a inch or two shorter than their counter parts and also are not the kind for long distance running, but are more faster in short distance running and bloodthirsty. They have darker coats that often have a striped pattern to the back, It's possible this is simply tattoos, but if it, the artist does very impressive work. Their eyes also softly glimmer in the darkness.
Warriors of genet armies tend to used simple, yet deadly weapons. Bardiche, War Scythes, strange machete/sabre swords, axes long stabbing daggers similar to stilettos, They also use pyramid bows. Something that is unusual from the common recurve, reflex, long and short bows in most other cultures. Helberds are another common polearm alongside glaves, but they are not as numerous as the War Scythe is. Beasts will also tear their clothing and make slings out of them.
( Vazaraat's army uses a few weapons invented by the genet himself, but i'll let those be surprises.... > = ) )
Some beasts that are captured are brainwashed by genets and sent out to kill their own lords or leaders, these beasts are often given weapons like blowguns, daggers and sometimes even swords disguised as something else. Like a flute or staff.
Each genet army comes out of Blackwood Forest to do their terrorizing and plundering four or six times a year in random months. If two or more leave off at the same time. They will often group together in order to overwhelm and take down/plunder even bigger targets like towns and wood fortresses. The spoils of their effort are split down the middle between genet warlords.
