"Guests? This island that water rat guards so poorly defended is yours? Surely a fox of the same breed as I does not have his guards as water rats? A real wise beast would have species that are not only deadly. But Loyal. As guards or troops. Thats why i made cats and monitors into guards and troops while water rats become no more than workers. "
A few bowcats became attracted by the hissing. They very quietly had watched the beasts unnoticed. Bows at the ready for trouble.
Hans looked a little disappointed. He was expecting a smart beast but instead. He's dealing with a lying jester. Who lied about his name and will not give one and worst of all now is claiming to own this rock. Lier! But he returned to his normal facial feature quickly before the fox noticed.
"It's alright. I'll stand."

The fox kept grinning, even though the insult was delivered. "I did not order them to do anything to you or your beasts. I myself allowed you to enter this castle of my own choosing. Also... only incompetent, lounging dolts have powerful armies at their command to do everything for them in unquestioning loyalty." He stated calmly, looking back at Hans with grey eyes, something changing in them as his voice grew a mite more serious.

Hans matched his stare with his own.
"Redwall ally hmm? Shame. You also fear them and their mythical sword? That block of iron that is said to cut through anything? Even though the Marlfox myth is a little overrated and silly. That myth about the sword takes the cake. It seems every single beast i meet is near insane either in awe or interest to the point of believing in such a stupid thing. So. Is it fear that makes you trade with Redwall? Or maybe you plan to poison them so you may take that mythical stick of steel?"
Hans tested his foe. Seeing if there was even more faults in the foxes attempt to claim he owns this place. He was failing a number of good time already No beast in their right mind lets a invader in their land and take it over without much fight. He had lied again!

"It was not my idea nor my intention to start trade with those fools. During my absence the water rats here have made some daring and unwise decisions. Like not welcoming our guests properly. And as for this sword you seem to describe at length, it makes no difference to me what the woodlanders do with it. I am not as obsessed over it as you appear to be." Maybe he also fell victim to its 'wonder'... He pondered silently as he munched on another bit of cake. Gulping it down, he continued. "And if you so wish to critique how the water rats govern themselves, tell them. Unless, perhaps I look like one of them to you..."

Hans chuckled. GOT HIM! He thought.
"Strange. It seemed soon after Mokkan, Son of High Queen Silth, Last of the fake creature known as "Marlfoxes." Died they had started a farming colony and did trade shortly after. Long ago..."
The Savage Arctic Fox Smiled. Showing all his teeth.
"I am a little impressed that you had managed to come up with better stories than these rats had. But of course like theirs. Yours are fictional. Now! Since i am in a better mood and quite amused. I shall spare you... I would let you go. But sadly. You might have to stay here....... Unless you willing to take one of the small trading cogs and brave thousands of hungry pike... We did just have a accident a few days ago with the last cog though..."
A few monitor guards had became attracted by the scene and joined in with their High King. They too held axes. With his monitors by his side. Hans, High King Of The Island. Felt he had outsmarted his foe. He had read books and heard all these stupid tales. Although he did not believe in Marlfoxes. He did believe that a bunch of Arctic Foxes came here and made the "Marlfox" thing up to make the rats serve them. Marlfoxes were fake. Mythical! Arctic Foxes were real! And if this Mokkan creature was really real. He was a Arctic Fox. He had no magic. No beast vanished! None could. He was just like this fox was. A lier!

The fox sighed and set down his plate onto the throne, turning back to face Hans with a threatening gaze. "So this is how it is? You rely upon muscle to get your way? Talk like you own everything your thick-headed minions growl at?'' He shook his head. "Surely you could do better than that, if you claim to be so superior to myself. I leave you to your own devices, and maybe use what brains you might have before next we meet. Until then..." With that, the fox dropped something onto the floor, something that promptly enveloped him in grey smoke. As soon as it came, the cloud was gone.
So was the fox.
No sounds of scurrying footpaws. No sight of the trailing cloak. No trace of smell left behind.
Only smoke.
