Castle Floret (The Official Castle Floret Thread)

((This is the Official Castle Floret Thread, for all RPing in Castle Floret. Since Southsward was a sub-board and Castle Floret is a major place in Southsward we deemed it worthy of its own thread.))

The beautiful Castle Floret is situated on a tall hill. A moat surrounds three sides of it while a sheer cliff wall surrounds the other. This is the iconic Castle of Southsward and is where the squirrel King and Queen govern over all the land. From the top of the look out tower you can see for miles. The Castle is self-sustaining and is well armed with its otter guard. Castle Floret keeps peace in the land of Southsward.

((Ok, Steelhawk, when are you planning on Silas getting to Southsward? I have created the otter Skipper of Southsward, who is also the leader of the otter guard. But we should create another thread for this in the questions board, as its clogging up the thread.))

((Walls and Ramparts))

Rapid Streamrock paraded around the west wall of Castle Floret, scanning the land for danger. Castle Floret's position on a hill gave him a great view of the surrounding area, which was pretty much blank. A few woodlands here, a couple of clearings there, all the same. It was late afternoon, Rapid's turn for sentry duty, which he considered one of boring-est yet most important duties at Castle Floret. He sighed, and continued on his patrolling of the west wall.

[Silas]

((I guess I should set up my empire... *Chuckles in an evil/joking way*))

On that same walltop stood a bird, a sparrow to be exact. He was a regular to the Castle, a courier of sorts. Most who knew him called him Steelwing, something like that. His feathers were mostly grey, anyways, despite his youth. He greeted the skipper with his usual upbeat chirp.

"Heya."

[Bark Snowfur]

"G'day to you mate," Rapid nodded at his sparrow friend. He was a good scout and provided great aerial support for the Castle. The skipper looked the bird up and down, as he does to all the otters in the guard. Steelwing did tend to leave Castle Floret at time, not restricted to its walls or the trek down the hill side. Instead being able to come and go as he please. One thing was for sure, Rapid was always glad to see the return of his friend. "What have ye been up to lately?"

[Silas]

"Fly, much flyink, Skipp." The sparrow replies, in his halfway-woodlander accent. The bird has kept in contact with the 'earthcrawlers' that he has adapted some of their forms of speech, though if Steelwing tried to imitate a mole, one would find themselves in uncontrollable laughter. "Flyin' lettas everywhere."

"Well good to here ya all right," The Skipper liked this little sparrow, he was interesting to talk too, especially on an uninteresting sentry shift. Rapid's black eyes gazed out across the land. No other creature could be spotted except for himself and Steelwing. "Have ye seen anything interesting lately? Because I sure haven't," Rapid sighed, The duty of a guard can be a boring one, He thought.

[Silas]

"Nah-ah. Nothin' but the snow..." The sparrow shakes his head, ruffling his neckfeathers a bit. "Wait-wait... Dere was a big hawkbird flyin' upp nort'. Din't see mee, though. Kep' flyin' west..."

An elderly squirrel approached the two, garbed in a sort of forest green robe, a walking stick in one paw, an envelope in the other. He wasn't old beyond memory, however, making the walking stick more of a thing to grasp and walk with than to support the beast. This is Deimar Leafblade, a resident of the surrounding land, and head of some official council or other. He smiled upon seeing the sparrow conversing with the otter.

"Hello, Skipper, Steelwing. How are you this afternoon?"

The Skipper of the Southern Streams watched the elderly squirrel approach. By the looks of things, not much was going on in the Castle as every beast seemed to be coming out to the walls. "Pretty good Deimar, how 'bout yoreself?" He asked.
