((I say we just keep on doing what we've been doing just with summer.))
While walking past the rat he had knocked out with his logboat, Jake heard the vermin moan in pain. He swiveled around, grabbed the rat, and called out to the two goodbeasts near the stream, "Hey! This one's alive! We should 'ask' him a few questions." He held the rat in a powerful headlock that prevented him from escaping.

"Here!" Ulbor quickly unslung his haversack. "I have some rope to tie him up."
Handing one length of rope to Dannburl, Ulbor took another length and approached the weakly struggling vermin. "I'll get his feet. Tie up his paws."

(paws, not hands, jut to say) Dann rushed over to the scene and forced the dazed rat's paws behind its back and tied them together in a tight Double overhand knot as Ublor handled his footpaws and Jake held him steady

"Alright, rat. You're going to tell us who your leader is and where he's going, got it?" Jake growled at the vermin.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lunith the Fleet charged into his camp, shouting instructions at his small horde, "Up on your paws! Listen to me: There's three strong, fit woodlanders ready to be captured! They're fierce beasts, so make sure to be even fiercer. These three are armed and know how to use their weapons. We're going to be quiet on this one, lads! Let's go!" Without a word, two dozen well-armed vermin stole after their leader, silently running into the dark woods. Lunith the Fleet's horde was a dangerous one, despite its somewhat small numbers. They were all skilled trackers, fighters, and all knew how to be stealth. They had gone on many missions like the one they were about to, and they had almost always succeeded. Unlike the little pack of mercenary thugs Lunith had hired, he greatly admired his horde. They were the primary reason why he was a successful slaver... that, and his wit.

"I ain't tellin' you nothin'," the rat spit out at them. Infuriated, Ulbor swung his heavy paw into the side of the rat's nose. Clamping the other paw around the rat's snout, the hedgehog snarled at him.
"Listen rat! Who do you think you are? I don't have time for scum like you!" He stared intensely into the rat's eyes. "You'll do as we say quickly, or you'll join the many rats to have fallen to my sword!"
Blood had begun to run from the rat's nose. When Ulbor let go, the rat bared his teeth, but stayed quiet and waited.
"I've got an idea," Ulbor said as he stood and turned his attention to Jake and Dannburl.

The rat strained to hear as the three conversed in a hushed tone what did these scruffy woodlanders want with him, and why didn't they kill him when they found out he was alive? what ever way they were deciding to get information from him wouldn't work he had his mind set that he would play dumb and give them no such information

Jake couldn't help but blurt out, "D'you think we should leave soon?" After the mists of battle finially had left his vision, he began thining much clearer. He realized that the fox slaver might come back.
----------------------------------------
Jake's prediction was true, Lunith was indeed coming. He would enslave these creatures if he had to do so himself!

Ulbor regarded the young shrew. So far he had seemed straight to business seeming to be the less social of the two. Jake would most likely be a useful ally in the future.
"You're right," Ulbor answered. "But what of this vermin."
Standing his full height over the rat, the big hedgehog continued, "I think we should leave him. Perhaps his leader will deal justice to this unworthy scum."
Turning around to begin walking away, he looked over his shoulder. "Unless you give us a reason to let you go," he said.

The rat thought this over. lunith wouldn't have patients to accept someone of his standing that was hog tied and kept alive by only the Mercie of a bunch of wood landers. lunith would probably kill him just to make an example. if he could convince the three to let him go. he would be able to find his way back and come up with a lie for his absents. he then looked up at the trio. "how can i convince you? Just let me go. i promise that i will never burden you again"

"Promise? What good is a promise from a slaver?" Jake said, ice dripping from his words.
----------------------------
Lunith had his horde combing the woods, now. There was no way these creatures could get away from him(Or so he hoped).

"We don't have time for this and we may need that rope in the future," Ulbor said. "Keep your blade on him while I untie him."
Ulbor bent down and started untying the vermin as he continued. "Could we all safely fit in your log boat? Otherwise, we can always try to loose them by following their old trail for a bit and climbing a tree. But it would be better if we could fit in the boat; we might even be able to take this vermin and get more information out of him."

"It'll do!" Jake said, patting his self-made logboat fondly. "Let's go!" His boat could sit three creatures comfortably, but four? Well, the rat didn't need to be comfortable! He ran over to it and motioned for the others to follow him. they needed to hurry if they were to outrun Lunith and his horde.

Ulbor retied the vermin and drug him to his feet. "Let's get that boat in the water," he said in agreement. He moved forward toward the boat to help Jake if he needed it dragging the rat the whole way. The big hedgehog was starting to get a little excited now. Could he have a chance now to have a significant impact on the vermin slave trade?

Jake tugged his logboat into the stream, showing his strength. "Come on! Everyone in! "
---------
Just then Lunith himself burst through the brush. "Get them!! Get those animals!" His small horde advanced on the unfortunate trio. If they would get away, then they needed to be very swift.
