Staring steadily at the squirrel, on the alert for any sudden moves, Scarlet answers."Scarlet." she states abruptly, her paw straying to her rapier hilt. She leans casually on the tree behind her, ever conscious of the two squirrels." Your's?" She asks the squirrel his name, staring him in the face with fierce green eyes, nothing about her looking like a helpless or dingy squirrel maiden. She was a warrior and warrior's blood ran through her veins.

(water pipe burst and other insanity kept me busy, sorry)
"Trill...Riversong." Trill replied though Scarlet had not given a last name. It was not honesty or anything inparticular that caused her to added it though. She simply didn't care much about who knew her name because to her way of thinking she could always make up a new one if she needed to or the mood struck.
"Play...your favorite song." Trill said, looking at Piper with a gaze that was somewhat to intense and gave the impression that she was not much in the habit of blinking.

"Alright then. Trill, Scarlet. I already told you my name its 'The Piper', or Piper." Nodding to the two as he said his name he allowed a smirk to cross his face. His favorite song?Wel he couldn't play it in current company, even he was polite enough not to play the 'Death parade' in civil company. Lowering his eyelids he stared at the two squirellmaids. This woul be interesting. He'd start out fast and slowly lull off into a lullaby, without a transition.
"Feel free to add words." Then with a deep breath he set into a wild tune , ne thats original words were blood thirsty and wild. Although nowhere near as bad as the Death parade. Then after a few chords he settled into a sweet high pitched melody. Lastly in the dying firelight he set into a song he didn't remember the words to, it was called 'the Prince's or Piper's Lullaby." He had heard it as a child, but the original lyrics were forgotten replaced with those simple ones all his own.

Fighting to keep in the real world, Scarlet listened to the Pipers melody and watched him through hazy eyes. Don't let the music take you in........ Scarlet thought to herself as she fought to keep her eyes open and seeing. This is too dangerous...... she thought. She struggled to bring her paws up to her ears, blocking the music from entering her mind her eyes came wide open and lost their haziness.

Where Scarlet fought Trill let herself be swept away by the music, weaving the violent start into the bright tune as if she had heard them played in such a fashion before. The lullaby however was a different story. It struck her like a physical blow and the words that left her lips were little more then a whisper.
Sleep my darling and heed not the pipers call Rest you head now and listen not Close your eyes and your ears to all but this, my lullaby Stay with me, safe and warm Close your heart to the song that calls to you so sweetly Sleep my darling, dance not till the pipers paid
Trill did not skitter back but remained frozen in her place, as if she had been turned to stone. She had not invented the words but could not place where she had heard them either and it disturbed her as few things could.
It had been many seasons since she had thought of the time lost to her, of the seasons shrouded by a black mist in her mind. That something had been rung loose was no comfort or cause for celebration to her mind but a reason to fear. She did not, could not, know what she had lost but the thought of the darkness made her shudder all the same. Some things were better left alone.

Piper laid the Pan-Pipe, his most beoved companion down on the log beside him. Even the piper himself had been disturbed by the lyrics. They rang true wtih the words he had added himself. Eerily so, except the point of view was different. While Piper's lyrics wer from his own battle experiences with luring dibbuns outside where they didn't belong, this one seemed to be from the view of a mother or a concerned relative. A warning? Was he really so infamous as to have his own song turned against him? That was great.
Best to act innocent. "What decent music lover would want children?Really now,. The Fiend!" The red squirell growled with distaste. His half tail curling onto itself as the notes faded into darkness. Secretly though the tunic clad male was glad that his smirk was invisible in the flickering firelight. A great wonderful fiend, but one all the same. Not to mention a handsome, genius fiend. Pulling his green
"Hungry? Or tired?" It was much to dangerous to send them off without food. Who knew how they would get back to their dibbun filled paradise of a home without running into danger? If not normal danger then unsavory folks, and Piper couldn't have that!

“Its bout war...old as the stones. Never heard a regiment sing to try and catch the young ones fancy?” Trill lied, more for her own benefit then anyone else’s. She was rattled, rattled badly, but it came across as nothing more then an increased stillness about her, as if her heart and breathing had stopped though it wasn’t the case.
“I ain’t hungerin.” She added, her speech regressing to what it had been when she was younger and her only constant companions were vermin slavers. The suggestion that she eat or sleep caused her to move back as if Piper had drawn a knife on her though she reached for none of her own.
