That night. A large celebration was held for the new leader of the Hellgate horde. One hundred and thirty cats (Not counting children or wives.) was the number of the horde. But thirty of the cats were sent off to spread word of the new leaders to the other hundreds of cats that were in this horde. This was good news to Hans. Because that means that this horde is much much more larger then anyone thought. This would help him in his conquest for territory and land. If there were any beast army near the other side of this giant lake they were going to head too. They can take them easily and obtain land.
One thing that he noticed was these beasts only had tents and wagons with supplies and weapons. Meaning they had mostly been very nomadic. They moved often and never settled down. But he would have this changed once he found a good area to start a kingdom. Another thing is that most males eat their food raw! Not cooked but raw flesh! To make them even more intimidating. They often made their clothing from the hide of other beasts. Despite this. The warrior males were very loving husbands and fathers. In fact. In some families. It was the wife that ruled the "Household" Mainly because the husband loved her to much to harm her or attempt to restrain her. But that never stopped him from running. As seen when Hans and his beasts walked in the lage camp. Seeing a male cat running from a female. Who was holding cooked meat in one paw and the pan she cooked it with in the other. Males who ate cooked meat were often forced to eat it because of thier wives. Who would threaten them with the pans if they didn't. children. Though often going through training with blades and bows and other important things. Often were playful and often were little rascals.
Hans was more relaxed now. Long Patrol would not be so quick to attack this horde. It would be insane and way to risky. Even for them. He felt alot more safer.

Toboe was sitting with a small group of kitts and tyeaching them everything he had learned from his rat guardian about healing and, also, dagger fighting. He also told them several stories that he had heard either from the rat or from others while traveling. Surrounded by young kitts and seeing the joy on their young faces, Toboe was happier than he'd been in a long time. He also smiled a genuine smile for the first time in years.

Hans. Along with Salvador. Were looking at maps that the horde had gotten ahold of off woodlanders and some travelers. He noticed something. In the middle of the lake. There was a island. Which is a water rat farming colony. With a huge castle and the lake around it was full of deadly pike. But these water rats also did trade with Redwall. They put what supplies they wanted to trade with in boats. Yes. There are docks on that island. And the sailed the ships to another dock at the West-North side of the lake and went Noth on to Redwall in tradecarts. They were headed towards that dock... He would spend the night..... Thinking up schemes and plans to take the island. Used to be known as... Marlfox Island...

After the kitts went back to join their parents, Toboe wandered into the nearby trees. He stayed close to camp, but went far enough away that he wouldn't be disturbed by anybeast before climbing into a tree and staring at the sky.

The Monitors,The Ferrets,The Weasels, The Searats and the Pine Martin were enjoying themselves. Drinking, Eating and finally falling asleep next to a fire. Salvador and Hans were the only ones up other than some Night guard. Cats who stayed up to make sure no enemy attacks would come and alarm the horde if trouble DID come! But Hans sent Salvador to retrieve the Searats and the Pine Martin. He ordered them to go off and look for people to join with his new horde. With the promise of gold and countless amounts of food and of course. Good ships and better living conditions. The Pine Martin had two weasels go and get some recruits too.

Toboe stayed up well past midnight just staring up at the full moon while lost in his lonely thoughts. Unshed tears filled and brightened his eyes as he thought of his parents and of how life used to be on his little island.

The next day. The Pine Martin, The Weasels and the Searat manage to get some beasts to join them. about 40. Though luckily most were surprisingly corsairs. They had lost their ships to storms and battles and wondered into mossflower. That was really all that mattered. Of the cats were correct. They were hundred of their kind. He only needed corsairs to help them get them to the island safely.
The captains of those ships was a female ferret and a male Ermine. Safira and Barraconda. Safira was a female corsair Captain that had a large obsession with Blue Sapphire and often wore Blue Sapphire bracelets and earrings. She was armed with a Saber with Blue Sapphires on the handle (What a surprise.) and about 8 throwing daggers and a main-gauche parrying dagger. Barraconda was a tall and slim. But surprisingly very strong for his looks. His blades, A long dagger, a cutlass and a scimitar. All had jagged blades.
Hans and his horde headed South-east to the dock on the North-west part of the lake. There. He would get hold of their trading ships and use them to get to the island. Were he will conquer it when he gets enough forces with him.

Toboe yawned and stretched from his place in the tree. He leapt down and lnded skillfully as only a cat could. After stretching the stiffness from his muscles, he headed back to camp and joined the others.

Hans had one of his horde beasts stay and wait for Toboe to come back so he would not get left behind. HE did not want the cat o be left alone in a word he could barely survive. Even though it is not even a frozen wasteland.
Finally. There. On the lake's edge. Was a large dock. It crawled with water rats and four large ships. Sadly. They were all Cogs! Which where ships not designed for a fight and made so that a small crew could sail it. But with a horde of expert marks beasts. This was not really that much of a problem. They lay in wait in hiding.

Toboe caught up to them quickly and crouched in the hiding space next to Hans with his daggers drawn and ready to fight. He was shaking slightly due to nerves and he was extremely tense, but he was ready.

But these cogs did have one thing that would be useful. The Fore and stern castles would make good places for the horde archers to take shots from. Still. The fox wished there was something like a galleon there. Now that ship would not only make a good combat ship. But it carries a lot and it sails fast through the waters. Witch would make their trip much more faster and give them a more heavy frontal assault.
Suddenly. One of the thirty cats that left. Came back. Sneaking in with a large number of cats with him to join up. This was good. They kept good on their word and came back with reinforcements. But the problem is that these are cogs. Meaning that there might not be enough for all of them. No worries though. He needed to leave some behind to protect the docks. Still. The fox was a little amazed that the cats had came back so fast. These cats must have been close by...

Toboe observed the layout and noticed the same things that Hans did. Every advantage and disadvantage. He closed his eyes, thinking hard about how they could make their disadvantages work in their favor.

Hans looked at the Water rats. From what he has heard. Water rats are not very smart compared to other creatures like Searats and land Rats. Though their ability to fight well in water and land made them good all-around fighters. For vermin that is. Though that not be the case since he had never seen one fight before.
First thing he noticed, There where about a score of them. Some were armed with no more than short bows and daggers. Others had fishing spears and halberds. Now the lest dangerous are the halberd and dagger users. Mainly because the daggers had a very short range and the halberd were near useless against large numbers. The bows. Compared to his and the cats. Did not have the range to reach them. and the spears. Even thrown. Would do no good.
His plan was fast and simple. Simply rain them with arrows. Till they either all die or they surrendered.

After a few moments, Toboe opened his eyes and looked over to Hans curiously. He knew he was thinking something, but he couldn't tell what. He shrugged and let it go. He'd find out soon enough.

Hans pulled up his bow. And with one thumb and the thumb ring. Pulled the string back. (This is the Mongol Draw. A Different way of pulling a bow string.) Thanks to the thumb ring. The String did not cut into his thumb. So he was able to pull it far back. Much farther back than the three fingered or the "Pinch" draw. All the way past his ears. (If they were down. Meaning it was pulled far behind his head.) This made for a fast, long distance shot. But with the cost of a loud sound made from the bow string and the thumb ring. But by than. The target is already hit.
The strange thing is that the hellbeast cats also had the same type of bow (The Mongol Bow.) and used the same thumb ring and of course. The very same draw.......
They all draw their notched strings back. Ready to turn the sky dark with their shafts........
