"I'm Four Shrew. Come from a large family we're all named by numbers. Da thought it would be easier to remember that way." He bowed slightly to the pair. "I 'ope you both will sing more for us while your 'ere. Wonderful to have a song to warm yur 'eart on a cold winter's night."
Gemma laughed again she was feeling particularly jolly just now. "Well," she asked William. "Will you sing more for us? I was planning on it. At least when I have the troupe to accompany me. Or I could just sing with you if you like."

"Well lass, I always am singing. So I'll sing more for everyone, but only after I have something to eat. I'm starving, though it would only be proper to meet the Abbess first. Though I have a song that will put some joy in everyone's hearts when I do sing it."
Then turning to Four Shrew, William chuckeled and said "Sorry for my hungry attitude, but I a bit irritable when I don't get food there lad. Would you mind directing us to where we could find the Abbess?"

"I believe the Abbess is in the Great Hall with the other beasts for supper. Wish I could join you but I'm back for the wall until the night watch comes to relieve me." Four saluted with the javelin he was carrying and headed back to his post.
Gemma realized that the shrew wasn't actually going to show them inside, "It's this way," she lead William into the abbey building. "I remember from the last time I was here. How do you think we'll know which one is the Abbess?"

Laughing a bit, William turned to Gemma and said "I like that lad there, he's a good fellow he is." Then following Gemma he listened as she was speaking. Then as she was finished, "I would assume you would've known who the Abbess is, because you've been here before."
(Edited to follow along with your edit. And that should be interesting with all the badgers in Redwall lol.)

((thank you)) Gemma laughed also, "Last time I was here there was a fat old Abbot. I doubt he's changed that much since I saw him." She was looking at William when she said it and wasn't paying much attention her surroundings so when she turned back to face forward she was quite surprised to be nearly muzzle to muzzle with another female badger.
Lois had seen the pair enter and went over immediately to meet them. She was head and shoulders taller than the small female, but the male was near the size of her own brother. This got her wondering where Osiah was at this hour. He was never late for a meal if he could help it. She also wondered what it would be like to have two male badgers in the abbey. "Hello, My name is Lois. Welcome to Redwall."

A large male badger wandered aimlessly down the halls of the Abbey, waiting for dinner to be served when he heard voices. One of them he rcognized as his sister's, but the other two were unfamiliar so he went to investigate.

"Ah hello there Lois, ever since comming here I've been getting fair greetings from everyone. I'm William Brock, and I'm sure you know the lass who's with me, but incase you don't, she's Gemma, an old friend of mine." William's mind wandered for a moment, I've never seen this many badgers congregated in a place other than salamandastron. He was about to get the shock of his life though, when he heard the movement of another badger walking down the hallway.
Then speaking up again to Lois, he calmly stated, "I've come here to Redwall for two reasons. The first and main reason being I want to offer my sword to the defence of this great abbey. The other, and it's only because of recent events... I'm looking for a meal."

"Actually, no, Will. Lois and I have not met before." Gemma said to him and then addressed the badgermaid who couldn't be much older than herself. "Like he said, I'm Gemma. I'm the leader of a band of strolling players and I was to meet them here. I don't suppose you've had anyone arrive from the Traveling Tradewind Players, have you?"
"It's very nice to meet you William, Gemma," she nodded to each of them in turn. "No I'm afraid we have not had any creatures come claiming to be part of such a group"
Gemma frowned slightly. Lois's words made her a bit worried for her troupe. "Could you tell me then, are you the Abbess the shrew told us about?"
"Oh no not me," Lois smiled I'm what they call Badgermother around the Abbey. My duties mainly consist of looking after the dibbuns."
"Yes of course," Gemma smiled again. "Could you please point out to us which creature she is?"

"Ah, so you're not the Abbess then. I was gettin a bit excited, thinkin that a fellow badger would be the Abbess eh." William replied to Lois' remark about not being the Abbess. Then after Gemma was finished, he said "I guess even dibbuns need looking after."
Looking around slightly, there were people sitting down eating, quite a number of them were in monk robes. It sure would make things difficult to find the Abbess if one didn't know who she was.

Lois blushed slightly at William's words. She had discounted herself from love and marriage long ago when she had been given the news that she would never be able to have young. After all what male badger would want her if she couldn't give him an heir. However this decision did not magically switch off her feelings. She was still a female creature with a heart and a complement from a handsome male of her species brought this fact home to her more than usual. She cleared her throat and gestured in the direction of the tables and chairs. "There in the abbey leader's chair, the Abbess is there. Saol is her name."
Gemma was not unaware of the other female's reaction to William's attention. She wondered what this creature's story was. Everybeast had a story after all and Gemma had a way of discovering them in time. She often used real creatures' stories when developing dramatic plays for her troupe to preform. She looked in the direction that Lois had pointed and was shocked to see a very young, very small molemaid in the seat indicated.

(Sorry for not posting sooner, I didn't really know what to write at the time.)
Smiling again at Lois, he laughed as he noticed her blush slightly. Always the charmer he was, but then that was the way he liked things. If you were in people's good graces, then that's a superb place to be.
A slight nod came as Lois pointed to the Abbess, and he turned to Gemma and was surprised to see that she was just as shocked as he was for seeing such a young beast in the seat. Then turning back to Lois he replied,
"I didn't think the Abbess would be that young? Or are my eyes decieving me?"

"She is quite young and the first mole ever to be named to the position so they tell me. But she's wise beyond her years and then there's that in born mole logic that she's not in droves." Lois told them walking a few paces towards the creature in question and indicating for them to follow her.
Gemma was still a little worried about her troupe. But then she chided herself. If Batou was with them, surely they would come to no harm. Then she remembered that she had another friend who was supposed to be headed to the Abbey. "Have any hares come recently to Redwall, by the name of Braebuck?"
Lois thought a moment. "There was a patrol that came not long ago. But I'm not sure of all their names. There may have been a Braebuck among them." she thought again as something occured to her. "Yes, a young male. Phil. I believe his name was."
That'll be Ally's brother, Gemma thought. "But you haven't seen a young female? She wouldn't have been traveling with a patrol. At least I don't think she would."
"No I'm sorry the only hares that have come to our Abbey recently were part of that patrol. They've been helping train our Abbey defenders."

"Ah, well that's the most important thing there lass. Age means nothing if you're qualified for the position." Following Lois, William looked around for a moment, everyone was eating.... And he began to feel the pangs of hunger, however his original reason for being here needed to be addressed.
He didn't know any of the beasts Gemma was talking about though, and said "Eh there lass, who...... are these Braebuck's..... you speak of? I don't recognize that........... family name, and I've been all......... over the land." His voice began to stammer slightly, mostly due to now his weakness setting in after not having proper nourishment in over five days.
It wasn't that he was trying to be nosy, even though he was... He was simply curious, since they must've been close friends of Gemma, and she seemed mighty worried about them, though he should've been more concerned with himself. Feeling his strength leaving him, he fell to the ground, fainting because of the lack of nourishment. Odd how he was able to manage just fine, but after seeing the food but not eating it was what made him weak. What he was going to say next would have to wait until he came to...

Gemma had been about to explain to William about Ally and her family when she noticed he was gone from her side. Upon seeing him passed out on the floor, she exclaimed dropping into the hare dialect, "Lack o' flippin' day!" She dropped down beside him, taking his paw in hers, "William are you alright?!?" She wasn't really sure what to do and looked up to the other female badger to help.
Lois also seemed to be at a loss. She looked up and noticed her brother standing there. "Osiah," she called to him. "Give me a paw helping him up and we'll see about getting him something to eat."

Osiah nodded and rushed over surprisingly quickly and quietly for a badger of his size. He knelt next to William and gently lifted him into a sitting position.
