What about Solid Snake? He's awesome.
Samus Aran could seriously own Mater Chief.

Well, she can move around as fast as MC, and she has WAY better weapons. She has over one hundred missles that are better than the rocket launcher or fuel rod in halo. She can also freeze him with her missiles(in Corruption. Very awesome game, by the way) and her main gun can get through even the toughest armor. Technology in Metroid is much better than Halo technology(even covenant and forerunner technology) and she can take WAY more than Chief. She can walk around in lava and survive Ridley's attacks(the huge purple dragon dude). If you've played the Subspace Emissary in Brawl, there's a cutscene where Ridley attacks Samus, and what she survives there, not even a mando could survive, with Beskar'gam(She gets slammed repeatadly against the wall and dropped like a hundred feet after having her head dragged crudely against the wall). Now if neither had armor, MC would break her in half.

probably. And you could stand that in Mando armor....you can get trampled by a Reek and only damage the jet pack on the back (if they have one)

Actually, I wish that I had a guy's version of Samus' Varia suit. THAT would be awesome(except that Mado visors are better)

Whatever, Kal. Yeah, you know nothing of the Varia suit. Meroid technology is at least as good as SW.

Whatever, Kal. Yeah, you know nothing of the Varia suit. Meroid technology is at least as good as SW. I honestly don't think they're very comparable. Not enough information is given about the standard technology in Metroid. And Samus's suit is one of a kind, so you'd have to compare it to something in Star Wars that is one of a kind, not Mando armor because there are a lot more Mandos than there are Samuses. And there are different kinds of technology too. We don't know how good the industrial output is in Metroid and stuff like that. And don't forget that the Death Star or even the suncrusher (which is actually less legitimate) is an extremely advanced technological achievement of a whole different scale. If you knew what kind of technology must be required for something like that (even for a Star Destroyer), you would be absolutely dumbfounded. You might even think it's impossible, even for Star Wars. So there really isn't anything to compare to that in Metroid, but on the other hand, I haven't really thought of anything in Star Wars technology to really compare with some of the stuff in Metroid (like Samus's suit). So again, they just don't compare well. I love how people just say stuff assuming they know everything about everything. Do you really know the capabilities of the Mando armor? Do you know how much heat it can take before melting? Do you know how much pressure it can take (I'm assuming a LOT, but again, how much?). Have you run tests on it to get the information and know the limits the armor can be pushed too? And do you know anything about Samus's suit? Do you know the scientific figures, the test results, and the chemical composition of it? Honestly, to say something like "and the armor's better too..." means you have to know for sure that it is. You are declaring that as a fact while you (or me for that matter) hardly know anything about the capabilities of these technologies. Do you even know how much energy the weapons that the Mando armor soaks produce? Do you know how powerful the weapons Samus goes up against really are? NO! We hardly know a thing about it. We can make speculations, but we certainly cannot declare anything of that nature as a fact.

Sam: "Honestly, to say something like "and the armor's better too..." means you have to know for sure that it is. Sam: "I love how people just say stuff assuming they know everything about everything."
I also love that, Sam. Get my meaning?
Also, quite a bit can be assumed with the knowledge I have about Metroid. They tell you quite a bit about Metroid technology.
If Mando armor could take one hundred shots from focused plasma energy(that's about a thousand times hotter than lava) then it still wouldn't be as good as the Varia suit, that can take a little over seven hundred(yes, Sam - I know that for a fact) shots, (and still won't give). Also, Samus can survive a couple hours in space.
The argument is if Mando armor is better than Samus's armor, so butt out if you don't like it. Kal said that Mando armor is better, and I'm against that. The argument isn't whether we can compare them or not(which we obviously can, because that's what we're doing anyway). So that's the argument. And unless you know a lot about BOTH Metroid and SW, you can't say that the two can't be compared. And Samus could beat any mando, because she can utilize a hundred and twenty missiles, Plasma energy(WAY hotter than either Lava or lightsabers), extreme cold(that's so cold it can freeze a volcano eruption), and extremely high frequented electricity that, let's be honest, almost no armor can deal with. So there. Besides, Samus could take anything a mando could through at her, and take hundreds more.
The varia Suit is better than Mando armor. Oh yeah, she would be just as good as them(maybe better) if neither have armor, too. She has chozo blood infused with hers(which makes her superior in just about everything) and she is a pure master of martial arts. Not to mention that she's a super-athlete and could beat Bruce Lee up (I'm serious). The only thing a mando would have on her if engaged in armor-less, hand-to-hand combat is raw strength. So there.

And Bruce Lee is probably as strong/stronger than a good number of Mandos as an aside though I don't want to argue about that (he was a lot stronger than you think and heavier that most people think too).
And I was mainly just trying to remind everyone that we don't have any accurate evidence about how much things can take. What mainly got me off though is that Grif just said "and the armor's better..." without any support at all. As if he knows everything, and we should just believe him because he says so. So far Timbo has presented the best evidence and in light of that it seems that Samus's armor is indeed better than... oh no... I'm going to say it... Beskar! Oh no! I said it! Unless you can give better evidence than Timbo that Beskar is better than Samus's suit, Grif I think you lost this one.
Though I think it would be great if Timbo could support his claim about the heat of plasma used in Metroid by actually quoting from one of the games. If so, we can probably get a very rough idea of the actual amount of energy that Samus's suit absorbs. I know I can give a very rough estimate of the amount of J that a standard blaster in Star Wars produces. Grif, if you give an example of how much from a blaster pistol/rifle someone took while wearing Beskar or some other similar instance, I might be able to get a very rough estimate of how much Beskar can take. Then we can compare them, if one is significantly better than the other, we'll know which is better.
I'm sure I get your meaning. But as of yet, I have never confidently presented an argument without good proof. I don't just say something because "I know", I make a claim based on solid reasoning and evidence and believe it. Nothing I've ever said has been because I somehow have some magical knowledge that only I am privileged to, but only because I or some one else has shown in a clear way that it's the best option. In fact, if you look at my posts, you'll see that I've claimed more than anyone else here that I don't know a lot of stuff. How is that "thinking that I know everything." I don't just assume to know everything, but I challenge the things that are told to me (by just about everyone) in my own mind at the very least so that the things that I wind up knowing I know for a good reason and with solid basis. I don't let other people think for me; I try to actually get to the bottom of things and understand. I look for the truth in the matter, not for what I think should happen or what is cool; I try to get to the bottom of things. So there, that's my defense.

Are you the arbitrator of all our arguments, Sam? If Kal wants to back down, I'm sure he will. It's my opinion that the Varia suit is better than Beskar'gam(not just beskar. Beskar is a metal, not armor). I'm very sure it is, too. But if Kal is of the opinion that Beskar'gam is better than the Varia suit, we should respect it. I firmly believe that the Varia suit is better and Samus could beat SW people, but it's all fantasy, and we shouldn't take it too seriously.
Honestly, Kal just said that Mando armor is better. I say Gordon Freeman's Crowbar can annihilate existence itself(as a joke, but I still say it.) Kal didn't really even attack my opinion, I was the one who attacked his. He likes Mandalorians. He's probably going to be on their side in arguments. (I'm not trying to sound like I control Kal, lol).
Anyway, that was vicious, Sam. And i recall you said you weren't even IN the argument, so you really can't just come in and say, "You won, Tim!!!" Kal has one post saying Beskar'gam is better than samus' armor. Well, I countered. And then you came in(no hard feelings, OK?) and blasted us both by saying we can't hold this argument. Then I provided my facts to support my side of the argument, countering your berating(like saying that we make comments without reason and understanding, and we act like we know everything about everything). So really, Kal didn't "lose" this argument...
And besides, just because he hasn't posted in a while doesn't mean he's given up.
Oh, and my comment that launched knowing everything about everything back at you kinda hit home in your last post there.
*Sigh* OK, no hard feelings all around? I mean, this is an argument thread, so we're supposed to make arguments. We're NOT however supposed to grind the arguments down until we have a victor, Mr. Arbitrator Sam. Let's try not to get personal here? No bitterness or grudges needed.
OK people, let's find something else to argue about before we get all friendly(wink)!

Here's some facts:
Katarn Armor is capable of taking laser cannon hits and surviving intact. Grenades don't even damage it. Granted, the man inside is a bit rattled, but fine.
ARC Trooper armor is even better (Because ARCs are more valuable than RCs)
The Nulls: Crazy ARCs. They want the best of everything. They got Mando armor. Do you think they would downgrade to a more inferior armor? That would make no sense.
There might be a lot of people who've adopted the Mando culture, but Beskar is a rare metal so you don't see many suits of Beskar'gam around.
Mando armor is also good in temperatures. Walon Vau was in sub-zero temperature for hours without dying. He got real cold, but was able to survive.
Don't forget the Mando sabers, also made from Beskar, that are lethal. Atin was lucky to only get a light cut on his face.
I'll never give up on the Mandos....i'm just having some parental difficulties at the moment.
