Age: Equivalent to 32 human years
Species: Fox
Gender: Male
Allegiance: Good
Appearance:
He is an average sized fox of somewhat dull orange fur. He has the normal white markings of his species. Things that might set him apart: he is not big but very sturdy with wiry muscles, he has blue eyes, he commonly wears a fairly simple leather jerkin that offers him some protection, he has a number of scars all over his body from battle and very tough paws from martial training. He normally has a somewhat non assuming, pleasant countenance. However, he never goes anywhere without a sword or at least a dagger.Belongings:
Many weapons. When traveling, he pulls a cart to carry his belongings. He owns an armory of weapons for himself as well as some training weapons. Among his armory are two longswords for either armored or unarmored combat, two arming swords, a kite shield, a buckler, several daggers, two falchions, a short mace, a spear, a sheath of javelins, two quarterstaff, and a small battle axe. He also carries two suits of plate armor in the cart for study as well as battle. Otherwise, he has a treatise on combat written by his former master and basic food provisions.Job or Position:
Beast at Arms and a student and teacher of combat. He aspires to become a Master at Arms. As a Beast at Arms, he will gladly pledge his sword to a worthy cause or master.Personality:
One might describe him as intensely interested. He is always seeking to learn more and understand the world around him. He is usually not confrontational, something commonly associated with beasts who understand well the reality of combat. He will however not hesitate to dispatch an adversary if his life or livelihood is threatened. His studies have made him bold and confident but respectful. He enjoys a good laugh, but he doesn't openly express this well. He enjoys helping others, but is often irritated by incompetence though he's fairly good at hiding it. Also, he is quite stubborn.History and Background Information:
Tunden was originally an orphan fox causing mischief in a village in the far south. One day he played a "joke" on the wrong beast. A big hare, a Master at Arms at that, was taking a drink from a stream on a quiet walk in the woods. Tunden sneaked up with a log and used it to knock the hare into the stream. Bewildered, the hare raced after the fox and after a wild chase seized him. After dealing punishment, the hare felt sympathy for the orphan. Carrying the unwilling fox along, he forced him to study as a student.Any other details:
The hare forced the fox to live in the small school and tied him to a long rope to keep him from running off. Though resistant at first, Tunden eventually proved to be a capable student and showed a love for the study of combat. The rigorous training transformed the troublesome orphan into a disciplined student. The master gave him the name, Riversprout, because their relationship sprouted from the river.
Over the course of his training, the hare took on other students. On a few occasions, when evil beasts threatened the village, the hare and his students gave them battle. Some students were slain or injured, but some grew more experienced and stronger. In this way, Tunden learned not only combat skills, but tactics and warfare. As one of the top students, he also learned to be a leader.
After many seasons, the hare grew old. By now, he considered Tunden as his son and the best student he had ever had. He told the fox that he was more than qualified to be a proper Beast at Arms and it was time for him to forge his own path. The Hare would retire, but Tunden must go on and continue his legacy. He should seek a student and seek experience.
Reluctant at first, Tunden began to understand his master and set off promising to return one day as a Master at Arms.
Over the seasons, he had acquired a small armory and training equipment. Storing them in a cart he set out to the North.
