A large red frilled lizard with leather armour and a halberd shoved the remaining ermine aside and held the longer weapon forward. Normally those who wield halberd where not effective because of numbers often being piled against them but when it comes to one on one. The Lizard would have a better chance at keeping his foe at bay and maybe even chasing him off. For now the lizard was only planning on keep the wolf at bay and tire him out. Luckily this can be accomplished with the help of the longer halberd.
Han's flicked the sabre and held the old foxes' head up with the flat of the blade. "A Seer huh? Maybe i could find use for you and you chief here." Impatiently he popped the cork of a bottle he had in his left paw and spilled it's wet contents (Wine) over the golden foxes head to induce consciousness and awakening. He turned back to the much older fox. "I guess you might be able to tell another tale of what is to come in the future hmmm? Like right now to save you and your chielf's life?"
Far away in two different locations (Above and below the Hans and Juska camp). The small forces of Julia and her brother and a Massive Wildcat known as Phalanx Vermeer (Hans Vermeer was adapted by a King Richard Vermeer. A wildcat. This is Richard's biological son!) were nearby. Julia was having problems in finding a safer refuge to hide at with her brother because of a recent attack that has nearly got her and her entire forces killed off. Phalanx had lost his father's entire kingdom to the Land of Ice and Snow's many barbarian armies but managed to take down his own castle and supplies instead of allowing them to have it and was simply searching for saver, greener areas to regrow his forces and take revenge against both the barbarian hordes and the Long Patrol. (Who had killed his father in a war.)
Both camps were not too far off from Hans' and Yoatl's camps.

Moonlight backed up, gaining room to fight with. He sized up his opponent, eyeing the lizard's weapon with distaste. He knew that it would be much tougher to fight him than any of the others. HE would have to be very careful and conserve all his energy, no showy moves, just what was necessary to avoid.

Rithuan's expression changed fleetingly to a baleful glare around his snout, which was forced uncomfortably upward by Hans's sabre. You should have expected such disrespect from the White One, he told himself, willing his anger away. "You wish to hear the future? Hmm, such knowledge does not come carelessly, and sometimes it is not what the listeners desire..."The old fox warned, narrowing his already narrow eyes, "Very well. I will tell you only if you release my Lord from these... conditions." He wrinkled his snout slightly at the presense of leering Bowcat guards and the sickly sweet scent of spilled alcohol.

At first, it almost looked as if the lizard's neck had exploded into a shower of blood, but it was really the red frill that suddenly puffed out and wide around his neck! Now all the sudden this lizard looked even bigger and more intimidating than ever before and being a reptile, it was already intimidating before it's frill came outward! Now not only he had the longer and more deadly weapon but now he looked like a fearsome monster! The lizard hissed loudly and did a thrust forward and attempted to run the wolf through with the halberd. (And come on. Make it a longer more interesting fight. XD )
Hans looked at the golden fox, and than with a moment of thought. He gave his order. "Release Chief Yoatl Rang!" The two cats let go of Yoatl Rang.
Yoatl Rang was on the ground, but now completely conscious. He slowly got up and rubbed his head a little. "Thank you Rithuan..." Still in slight recovery.
Salvador. The Biggest monitor lizard anyone would ever see in their entire lives, was also in the camp of Hans Vermeer. He was making sure the packing was going as planned. Now he was walking toward Hans, some bowcats, Yaotl Rang and Rithuan. Now the biggest lizard Yoatl Rang has in his tribe was a Red Frilled Lizard named Uulamgor Scaleburn. But Yoatl Rang DID NOT have a single monitor lizard in his tribe! So this was the biggest lizard he had ever seen and so far the most scariest lizard he had ever seen!
When Salvador was now side by side with Hans Vermeer. He spoke and his reptilian toungue. "Who are theze creaturez? Spiez or maybe my dinner?" Hans replied in that calm voice again. "No no no Salvador. They are just some beasts we found a little too close to our camp."
Julia and her two brothers and the remaining beasts were in full march. So was Phalanx's. Neither one of them knew they were going to soon march into the camps of Hans Vermeer and Yoatl Rang....

The ancient seer gave a slow nod to acknowledge his Cheif's thanks, but personally he felt no thanks were called for. It was his duty and purpose in life to serve the Juskarang Cheiftan, no matter what that called for. Then he turned his head slightly at the arrival of the colossal reptile. Rithuan had only heard small mentions of Moniters before; he had never actually seen one. Despite Salvador's sudden and intimidating appearance, the fox remained almost obliviously calm. He looked again to the King of the Island. "Shall I tell you now what it is I have seen? Or shall we accomidate ourselves more as equals--perhaps around that fire ring?" He indicated to the shallow pit where the drowned remains of the Bowcats' fire lay, surrounded by flat stones and logs for seating arrangements.
------------------------------------------------------ Gullask sniggered as he observed the wolf's attempts to dodge and parry the red-frill's seeking halberd. But Yonga's gaze momentarily passed over where the grey fox stood, and an expression of horror crossed her face as she watched him chuckle at Moonlight's struggle. The fox saw her looking and, fearful of capture by his former comrades, fled towards the woods. Garrbod, who had left the tent not a moment too soon, gave chase, even though he was unarmed. The grey fox would suffer Yoatl's wrath for inciting chaos among the Juska! That is, if Garrbod caught him. Foxes are much lighter and swifter than rats; it was likely Gullask would run straight into Phalanx's force before the rat had a chance to catch up.

Moonlight was backing up steadily, going around tents, seeking to avoid the deadly blade. Suddenly, his foot caught a rope from a tent and he fell onto his back. His breath left him in a great woosh as he struggled to regain his feet befoer the lizard could come after him.

"Sure. Lets sit down and hear what you have to say seer." Hans said as he and his monitor guard walked over to the fire place and sat down on the flat rocks around the drowned fireplace.
Despite his head being completey covered in drying and smelly wine. The Fox was not really much angry at all. This was way too important to lose his temper over, if he lost his temper and screwed up now. Everything will be lost. He sat down himself on a log and kept his silence for now until it wad necessary to talk. For now though his seer was doing just fine with his own talking.
The Red Frilled Lizard was one of the most aggressive creatures the wolf would have ever had the unfortune to meet. The lizard was not even going to wait for him to get back on his feet! He had already swung his halberd up and over his head and was now attempting to bring it down in a chop to kill this 'oversized fox'! (Which is what he thought he was. Mainly because he never met a wolf before. Which is pretty amazing because most beasts who met creatures like monitors, wolverines and wolves are often too frightened to fight them!)
If the gray fox didn't have a smaller neck like most red foxes don't have, the two prongs of a trident would have slit both sides of his neck open, But lucky he was only caught between them and past the prongs. One shove from the trident's wielder would force the fox to fall over to be pinned down unable to fight and get back on his feet. Though he would not be killed. Phalanx's forces were beasts at arms and knights and finally forward defence. The forward defence having large tridents and tower shields (Like Roman shields.), knight were almost head to toe claw in armour and had steel kite shields and arming swords and beast at arms had various weapons, most falchions and axes with breastplates and chain mails.

Moonlight's eyes widened as he rolled to the side, away from both the tent and the lizard to get to his feet, breathing heavily. His borrowed blade was angled across his body as he leapt forward for once, howling the wolf's howl of rage, releasing the emotion from the death of his beloved Sheila to fuel his battle rage.

Gullask had the breath knocked out of his skinny body as he has whisked efficiently to the ground. Too stunned to struggle, the grey fox stared upwards at the wielder of the trident and whimpered like a blithering coward (which was not a far stretch...). Garrbod was observant enough and moving slow enough to conceal himself before the well-armed and armored force before they spotted him. He peered out from behind a large elm waiting to see what the wildcat would do with the greedy instigator.
---------------------------------------------- Rithuan followed Hans's lead, seating himself on a flat rock near Yoatl and ignoring his aged joints' screaming. He folded his paws on each other and stared levely across the void at the white fox. "Of late my visions have been increasing, and for days I did not understand what they all had to do with each other," the seer began, "I have seen you, Hans, as well as your Bowcats. You were scouting here in these woods, along with looking for profits for your island kingdom. I also saw others: A great wildcat Warlord with a great army of knights and other fighting forces, a true Marlfox, a vixen with command over skilled black rats, and another, a white wolf that strikes like a phantom when it snows..." He paused, turning to his Cheiftan, "Forgive me, my Lord, I was not entirely truthful with you earlier. I only told you what I thought would be safe for you to know at that time..."

"A Marlfox vixen? Are you Mossflower creatures really that dead sure that there are such things as Marlfoxes? The Far Eastern Jungles past the Eastern Kingdoms believe Dragons exist and fly in the skies over our heads, but i look up and every time i see nothing! But that is unimportant for now. This wildcat and this wolf. How dangerous is this wolf? What does this Wildcat look like and what makes him so deadly or important?"
Hans never believed in things like Marlfoxes. He thought they were like the Dragons of the Far Eastern Jungles. A Myth and nothing more. He has never seen either one with his own eyes nor has he ever seen either one does what it was claimed to do. Although he did wonder about the Wildcat and the wolf. His cats had encountered a wolf that has escaped them and he wondered if it was a threat to him. He wondered if he had to have it hunted down and killed. The wildcat though was a bigger threat. He sounded like more of a foe than a potential ally...
Yoatl Rang was a fair and understanding chief. " It is ok brother. There is nothing to be worried or sorry about. Everything will come out ok." He had complete confidence that his very wise seer would get him and his tribe through this alive.
The red frilled lizard glared and hissed loudly at the wolf. He knew no fear! He had always killed his had always won! He will win! Even if it kills him! The lizard swung the halberd like a baseball bat in a attempt to chop the wolf in two halves with the axe blade part of the halberd!
The wildcat solder than caught and pinned the fox did not finish the fox off, but rather waited till the leader marched forward up front to see his catch of the day. The Wildcat leader, Phalanx. Was HUGE for a wildcat. As big as Ungatt Trunn if not just a inch or two bigger. But because of the of the helm, chainmail, breastplate armour Black surcoat and black long cape that he had wrapped around him. Only his ears that came out of the helm and the Dark grey, black striped tail with a thick rounded tip gave any evidence that he was a wildcat. Other than that, you would never know.
Phalanx towered over the fox like a colossus and spoke in a coarse, rasping voice. Which because of the helm also turned slightly metallic. "So little fox? Are you lost? Maybe we can return you to your herd. Just give us a direction so we can give you back to your little friends...." the tone was cruel and mocking.

Moonlight was getting tired, and it showed. He barely ducked under the swinging weapon and stood back up, his breath coming in ragged gasps. Tiredly he raised his weapon and in a desperate ploy, drove it forward to try to impale the lizard through the neck.

Rithuan seemed unpreturbed by Hans's lack of belief in the Marlfoxes, but just the same he smiled and quoted: "'Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed'. Hah, or are they cursed?" His smile faded, "Still, your tone worries me;you fear they are foes, no? Never fear--fear genrates hatred and hate always leads to desolation, and not just of enemies. I will tell you of the others. The wildcat is called Phalanx Vermeer, yes, he carries your surname," The seer did not attempt to explain how this was so, but left it up to Hans to understand its signifigance, "He appeared to me as a giant, clad in dark armor and black cape, and these protections had no gaps. He stood tall, as if indestructable. Now the wolf, hmm, he was different. The wolf is known as Moonlight Darkpaw. He is solid white save for darker fur on one of his paws. Even his eyes are white. The wolf appeared lost, as if looking for something, something not material."Rithuan's eyes met the white fox's, "Spare those thoughts, Hans. Do you fear the wolf? If so, then consider your chances slim. The great event that must occur will never succeed if Moonlight is slain. This event is why the fates have guided all four forces to this spot on this day. I sense those forces are not far off..." Rithuan finished with a slight wheeze and peered past Hans and Salvador, towards the East, where another force still marched straight for them...
------------------------------------------------- Gullask was so frightened of the monstrously huge wildcat that he forgot to be stung by his insulting words. He quivered like frogspawn, still pinned to the ground, his mouth dry but still trying to form words. "Yeep!,"he squeaked, "O-oh, pl-please yer Mercy--er--fulness...? D-don't kill meeee! Just lemme go an' I'll, um, I'll--I'll take you to 'em! Just don't slay me do anythin'... er, unatural... or bad..." Garrbod growled silently under his breath. He had no idea who this feline was or what he would want with the Juskarang, but he could bet an oaktree to an acorn that it couldn't be good! As stealthily as possible, the rat began slinking away, back towards the camp, staying behind trees and brush.

Hans knew what the old fox meant when he said 'Blessed are those who have not seen and have believed.' Did they really believe the Marlfoxes exists? Who was he himself to claim they really didn't exist? Seers and those who see the spirits of the dead exist. What could keep Marlfoxes from existing too? Now Hans was wondering if he had made mistakes in his beliefs and wondered if this Marlfox vixen was for real.... When the seer Rithuan mentioned something about Phalanx Vermeer. He could almost not believe his ears.
"Oh no seer. Phalanx was killed along with his father long ago in a war against Long Patrol. Only i and a few other beasts made it out alive... Was i? If he is alive. Where is he? What direction? Come on now this is very important!"
Hans had almost forgotten the wolf in his excitement to see his non biological brother again. But he had NOT forgotten the wolf. He would deal with the beast after he causes this "Great Event."
The red frilled lizard attempted to dodge the blade, but it still managed to slice his throat. It missed his windpipe, neck bones and jugular vein, only his frill and some flesh in his neck suffered damage and even that was minor, but he didn't even know it. So when he grabbed his neck and felt wet, sticky blood. He ended up turning around and dropping his halberd so both hands where on his neck, retreating in a staggering run to the nearest healer thinking it was going to suffer from a lethal wound. This ended the wolf's huge problem with the lizard. Though he still had plenty of problem beasts to deal with that were still out to get him.
The wildcat Phalanx stood over his victim for a few seconds, the metallic breathing constant. Until finally he had his cat soldier jerk out his trident and let the fox go. "Perfect! Their numbers will be a good addition to my army! The more the merrier! We need them to rip Long Patrol a new gaping wound! Now get up and march up front!" He kicked the foxes' hindquarters when he was about to stand and had his forces marcher forward, following behind the fox.
(Beasts can also walk on all fours in Redwall if i remember correctly.)

((I think they can, but it's not the usual. It's supposed to be demeaning. Does that mean Gullask is now crawling on all fours?))
The old fox seer blinked and gave Hans a knowing look and smirked. "Ah, Hans Vermeer, you contradict yourself. Marlfoxes are the work of fables to you because you have never seen one, yet you are sure that Phalanx is dead? Did you see him die?", Rithuan shook his head as if he was a fatherfox dealing with a stubborn cub, "No, don't answer that. There is no need to. Despite all the hares' efforts Phalanx lives. He is headed this way, distant from us by a mere fraction of a mile. His arrival, along with the vixen Julia's, is immenent."
---------------------------------------------- The vermin riled up by Gullask were not sure what to think when their best fighter ran off clutching a neckwound. One particularly brave Arctic fox berserker leapt forward, brandishing his axe. "Ach, coom on, laddies! 'E's weaker nae!" The fox roared and swung his axe at an angle, hoping to lop off Moonlight's sword paw.

The tired wolf glared at the incoming weapon, sidestepped somewhat raggedly and jabbed his paw into a nerve cluster in the elbow, grinding it to cause the maximum amount of pain before punching the fox in the gut and throwing him to the side. "Aye, I may be weaker, but how many more of ye will I kill before I finally die?"
