The fox berserker crumpled to the ground yowling and clutching his stomach. The other berserkers halted momentarily, then spread out to try and surround Moonlight. They chuckled viciously as they brandished their huge blades and feinted a few at a time at the wolf. "Hunhuhuh! Aye, wolf, but dinnae ye see th' pelts we wear?", one fox bragged, indicating the fur each of them wore. The ermine and white foxes all had some kind of beast's pelt hanging loosely from their shoulders: Badger, wolverine, a few of wolf, and even some bear. "Awhawhaw! Another wolf'll look good on me!"An ermine laughed cruelly. He was then cuffed strongly a second later by Yonga, who had a look of extreme fury in her eyes. "You wormgobbed, muckeared, savage, horrid waste of mother's tears! Leave 'im alone!" She shreiked. One of the rats swayed by Gullask grabbed her arm and jerked her away screaming.

Moonlight's head jerked about at the ferret's scream. Usually he wouldn't have given a damn, but she had done a lot for him, and he felt he had to repay her. Gaining his second wind, he cut a fox down between him and the rat and then viciously rammed the sword through its neck, twisting to make it completely sever from the body, spraying blood all over himself and the ferret.

Yonga flinched, throwing her paws up to her face to protect herself from the blood spraying everywhere. She sat down hard upon the ground, shaking like a leaf, as the rat's headless corpse thudded into the dust nearby. She was not a fighter, and the sight of beasts being decapitated was a frightful one. Quivering still, she stared at the blood drenching her paws and clothing, too startled to move. The berserkers saw an opportunity; two of the foxes sprang towards him simultaneously, their axes raised.

Something inside the white wolf broke. Ignoring all fatigue he let out a vicious howl and sprang at the incoming foxes at high speed, intercepting the axes with his blade and ripping them out of their hands. He smashed the hilt of his sword into one's head as he drove his fist into the small point at the bottom of the ribcage.

Hans could not help but be impressed with this seer. He was one of few creatures that had outfoxed him like that in a conversation. What he spoke was truth and made sense. He was never going to state something false until he was sure of it and had all the evidence to support it. As the old saying goes. 'Winning brings you power, but failure brings knowledge.' Knowledge IS power! Learn from your mistakes and you won't fail as easily as the first time and you will win!
"Than we would seek him and this vixen out quickly. Before anything bad happens that might ruin this chance to group up and gain allies. Though i think it is best we seek out Phalanx first. I know him very well and he will join up without resistance, than we'll head to your clan and finally to the Vixen. With the numbers we'll have if we approach her last. She will not have much choice but to join us all. Once all this is done. We'll sign a contract or make an oath. Whichever comforts everyone the most."

Rithuan performed his knowing smile once again. He had gotten through to this much prouder and younger fox. He knew he had the fates and the competence of all involved to thank. But now he had one more matter to speak of: "Which do you believe is stronger; a contract or an oath? Contracts have been repeatedly broken over time because all they require is the scripting of a short title. Oaths are made in spirit, and thus they are broken in spirit. There is much anxiety over even the possibility of a broken oath. It is my opinion that swearing an oath will keep each force involved within its bounds," The seer paused, looking to Yoatl and then Hans expectantly,"Unless, either of you disagree?"
---------------------------------------------- The first fox wobbled to the ground, likely suffering from skull fractures. The other was slain instantly, a small bone in his lower chest beig drivven into his heart by the force of the blow. As the two foes fell to the ground, Garrbod ran in amongst the other vermin, shouting an alarm: "To arms! There's a Wildcat and an army comin' down from the northeast! What are ye standin' about for?!? To arms!" The fox and ermine berserkers shifted uneasily. Gullask had promised them the wolf's (fabricated) riches, but the rat Garrbod had always been a rock of good common sense to the Juskarang. They weren't sure who to follow now. The rats, weasels, stoats, and non-berserker foxes, however, were immediately alert to the call to arms. In a few moments the spaces in between the tents were packed with tribesbeasts trying to hastily gather their weapons and armor. Yonga stood, most of the blood removed from her clothing, and latched onto Moonlight's arm. "Quickly, Moonlight, if there's one place you shouldn't be it's here about to get trapped atwixt two fightin' forces. This way, you can hide out in th' woods!" The ferrethag began tugging at the white wolf to follow her into the verdant forest to the East of the Juska camp.

THe wolf was loath to leave a fight, especially when it promised to be as good a fight as the one that this would become. But he wasn't so far gone that he wasn't able to use logic to realize that what the ferrethag said was true. Reluctantly he turned to follow her away from the fight, still keeping an eye on the others, in case they tried to take advantage of his back being turned.

Yonga led Moonlight away from the Juska camp and into the woodlands. They fought their way past shrubs and bushes, unknowingly headed straight for yet another force that was on the move, seemingly summoned by a greater power to fill in the missing part of the Great Event to come. The ferrethag slowed down, panting and too tired to run much farther. "'Ere, this is as good a spot as any," she gasped, leaning against a large beech tree, "I think you'd be safe now."

Moonlight thrust the blade into the ground. "That fox had something to do with this. I'm sure of it. He leaves for a little while, and all of a sudden we're getting rushed by the entire camp. That rag-eared filthy piece of dirt."

Yonga chewed her lip worriedly. She did not like to think of her former friend as a 'rag-eared filthy piece of dirt', but his actions and the sudden aggresiveness of the tribe could not be mere coincidence. By the claw, she had SEEN him run! Why would Gullask run from her sight if he wasn't guilty? "I think you're right,"she sighed, "I seen him run. Garrbod went after him, but I didn't see him come back," Her eyes got suddenly wide, "D'you think maybe he ran afoul of that wildcat and the army Garrbod was screamin' about?"
