Sarim plunged through the forest in panic. Someone who he knew was dead, who he knew he had left in the wilds of the south had chased him relentlessly. Markimm, that cat! He had assembled a horde, all to kill him. Any other time, he'd be flattered. Not now though. He had stumbled upon the wildcats' camp not an hour past. Both parties had froze, then the wolverine had plunged foreward. Somebeast had tried to get in his way, and he had smashed his head in with his spiked club. He heard the wildcat snarl in rage at that, and he literally flew out into the underbrush.
Markimm led his horde on after the wolverine. His stumbling progress was easy to follow, as was the heavy tracks. He barely flinched as a squirrel tribe came through his ranks and decimated his horde. He never paid attention as more fell off into a quarry, nor did he care when more fell to a snake. His tunnel vision was for the dark form ahead. That wolverine had killed Stormgaze! Soon, the wildcat was all alone in his chase, the rest abandoning him to his mad run.
Sarim stumbled into a clearing, and decided to kill the wilcat after all. He ditched his cloak and readied his club. He turned, and saw only the wildcat running for him. He laughed aloud, untill the cat was on him.
With a growl, Markimm unsheathed his blade and flourished his wrist. With many clinks, the blade became an edged chain, and Markimm twirled it this way and that, just to kill that damn tormentor of his childhood.
The wolverine barely managed to block each and every swing with his club. Then, inevitably, the weapon was wrenched out of his grasp. The wolverine charged the wildcat and caught the cat's paw. He pulled the chain blade out and threw it to the side. Then began viciously clawing and biting the cat, and Markimm did the same.
Both combatants fought hard and long. It wasn't their fault, however, that they didn't pay attention to the cliffs. With savage yells, both fell over the edge, locked in a fury. They were still fighting when they crashed onto the rocks below and made a swift trip to the Dark Forest.
So ended Markimm and Sarim.
