"Thank you, Admiral," Moll said softly but with an edge of power to her voice as she looked around at the beasts around her choosing sides and seeming preparing for a fight. She had listened closely to all that was said and now looked closely again at Callista. She trusted the pure ferret's recognition of intruder even though it was hesitant. Then she turned and faced the weasel/stoat, "You've come to find Lady Callista and you have found her. I see no reason that you should not be able to say your piece. My creatures are not involved in your business and will not attack you unless we are first attacked. But I may also add that Callista is under my banner of protection while she resides in this palace so any attack you make against her or her creatures we will consider as an attack against ourselves." She watched him for a sign of agreement. "Please take a seat and say your piece."

The general already knew what side he was on if a fight broke out; he would fight with Walon against the half-breed and Krauser, in order to defend Moll from any threat. Drask responded to the crazed stoat, his voice cold and level, "I will fight you both, Krauser. If he takes a step into this room, I'll be forced to side with Walon Vau." He was prepared to stand when Queen Moll spoke firmly to the half-breed known as Vincent Richmond. Drask smiled slightly when Moll assumed her mighty position of Queen, calmly yet with more than a touch of power. It impressed him greatly at how she changed from a simple barmaid into a powerful ruler. Drask was now certain that the half-breed would not fight them; Moll's handling of the situation assured him of that.

The half breed did not even take the ferret seriously. "Yeah. Soldier, queen, don't harm. Sure. Just sit down and "terrorize" your food for booty while i say my piece." he looked at Callista. "I think you may know why i'm here. As a knight i took an oath to defend the royal family no matter what. Even if it shall cost my own life. Unlike most of my command that had gave up hope that any of the family was still alive and broke off. I still had faith that at lest one of you were still alive and of course, my searching took me to this place. Now that i have found you. I am supposed to serve you. At lest until either you die or one of your older brothers happen to still be alive."
Callista frowned slightly at the last bit of what he had said."
Mako caught her facial expression and laid down the law of the family on her without hesitation. "You know the Family Rule Callista. It's been read and said over to you since your birth..."
With a huff. Callista said one of the rules of the Family Law. "In the event the king and/or queen dies, they're oldest sibling takes they're place. Meaning if either of my brothers. Heinrich or Valter still live. They take the crown and i have to wait until they're deaths..."
Mako sat in a chair next to Krauser mainly because he was unable to set besides Callista. "You may not remember me too well, but i assure you. I will be of great and loyal service to you."
Krauser cut off with Drask the second the conflict was defused by Moll. Though he had been tensed up like a tiger about to leap on a deer. Drask was a brave creature he had to confess, but not a very smart one. One good leap off the chair and downward slash and he could have chopped the ferret down to the very last bottom rib...

Walon was not a creature to stand down lightly. Especially when he had been insulted by a beast who had no idea what he was talking about. Maybe in the past he had threatened, pillaged, and burned, but now he was different. "I advise you not to talk about that which you do not know." he said stiffly. Though this wasn't a matter concerning him, this half-breed's allegiance to Callista, he had a smart mouth that needed cured.

Moll ignored Walon's comment and smiled around at everybeast. "Well there now. Isn't that nice? We're all on the same side." She kept her eyes on the still volatile gathering and called out to her head servant. "Geoffrey, our recent arrivals have not yet been served. The Admiral, Mr. Truglim and Mr. Richmond need soup and meat and . . ." she beaconed him closer and whispered "Maybe now would be a good time to bring out a bottle of the bubbly?"
Larka nodded at the way her mistress had diffused the situation and stepped back into her previous position. For all her dockside upbringing the queen had turned out to be quite the diplomat. Maybe she got that from her father.

Geoffry had just returned to the dining room as the confrontation was occurring, and he ignored it, standing near Moll. He nodded in acknowledgment of the Queen's orders, "Of course, Milady." The head servant decided not to add sarcasm to his words, seeing as this could be a very important diplomatic situation. Geoffry left the dining room yet again, heading back to the kitchens....
Zahn relaxed as Queen Moll effectively defused the near conflict of the beasts there, confident that there would be no fight, for now. The short fox removed his paw from his blade, and resumed eating the meal laid out before him, but he still kept watch over the half-breed.
Drask regretted wearing simple clothing to this feast, he should have worn his armor, for this could quickly get out of paw. Though Moll seemed to retain control of situation, it would only take a single word or words to start a fight. In which he would more than likely be wounded or killed, due to the fact he wasn't dressed for battle. Drask sipped his wine, and like Zahn, the general was on edge, careful not to let his guard down.

Callista was now not really paying much attention to what Moll had just said, now her mind was thinking about her two older brothers. Heinrich and Valter. Survival in Mossflower woods? Heinrich? Not likely. Valter? Without a doubt. He was not like her and his brother. He has.... Better. Biggest, strongest, smartest, better commander and leader.... He was taller.... He was the best. If anyone survived the savages in Mossflower Woods. It would be Valter.
Mako was not hungry, nor thirsty. He was just trying to shrug off the adrenaline rush and the fact that this didn't go the way he expected. He was expecting it to all go to hellgates. Not be defused. He had came in here ready to empty heads, snap spines and splatter organs and get Callista out of here. Not really be sitting here waiting for his meal and drink, but hell..... Maybe his reputation proceeded him better than he thought....
The halfbreed kept a paw on the hilt of his curved sword and a straight face.. Just in case.

The queen was trying to swallow back an adrenaline rush of her own. She was proud of herself for keeping control of the situation. She only barely managed to keep her posture and bearing stately as her foot paw tapped out a tattoo on the stone floor. She took a bite of her food and her eyes traveled back to Truglim. His opinion of her seemed to matter more than that of any other beast. He out of all these beasts had known her father, after all, and he knew the standard she had set up for herself to be like her famous parent. At least, that's the reason she told herself she was drawn to this particular half-breed. Matters of the heart didn't always have logical explanations and Molly Fitzrawnwave's heart had been lost to her father's old cabinwhelp long ago.

Moments after the head of the servants left the dining room, he was back, carrying two plates for the new arrivals. Following him was another servant, who brought the drinks for Mako and Walon. Geoffry placed the plates in front of each of the beasts, with a look of disdain on his face. He considered making some kind of disrespectful comment, but the stoat reasoned it wasn't the time or place right now. Geoffry took his place near the door, holding his head high, and standing proudly as he always did.
Renak failed to show his support of either side in the near conflict, but the weasel knew where his loyalty lied. He calmly ate his meal, just as he was before the arrival of Mako and Walon. The weasel would have aided Drask and Walon if a fight broke out, not only to prove his loyalty, but to secure that prized reward for himself.
The ferret general straightened his posture from the slouching he was doing before the two beasts arrived, this wasn't the time to relax. The feast was no longer a simple one in honor of the returning beasts, but perhaps a dangerous situation. Drask was inwardly fuming that his enjoyment was forced to end, with a dark expression replacing the calm one his face; the general was more than willing to start a fight with Mako.
Truglim appeared to be the least fazed by the possible threat; he was only concerned that Moll would be injured, but her two bodyguards looked capable to deal with any danger that the Queen might face. He still was tense, thankfully Moll had skillfully defused the situation before it escalated into a fight. Truglim met the Queen's eyes and shot her a quick smile; despite the seriousness of this feast, he still felt it necessary to reassure Moll of his support.

Callista also knew which side of the fight she would have taken. Just because Krauser would have taken Mako's side. She may have appeared weak, but she was a master sabre wielder in her own right, and dispite the pure ferret's closing friendship with Zahn and Alaxander. She would not hold her blade back from them, after crossing blades with Drask though. Krauser said he would fight him if he attacked Mako. She would not want him too, if anyone was going to cut Drask down to size. She would want to be the one to do it. Just mainly due to curiosity. She had never fought a fellow sabre user before....
Krauser was in survival/war mode and was having a hard time shrugging it off. He was as tensed up as a spring. He almost looked like he could jump all the way up to the ceiling! If a fight had gone off. He would have shot like an arrow right across the table and be on Drask in a second.
Dispite this though. He cursed himself. Having only this lowly palace guard's sword instead of the large BaGua Broad Sword he had left back in his room. He could easily clear the room with it. It was long, large and surprisingly sharp and light for it's size. Though of course. It IS a martial arts weapon!

At Truglim's smile Moll's heart skipped a beat. The rest of the meal and her guests became a background annoyance in the light of that smile. She only wished that she could escape to their regular meeting place and leave all this mess behind her.
And she could see from that smile as well that he was even more uncomfortable being here than she was. He wanted to be out at sea. Sailing, that's what Trug was cut out for. It wasn't fair for her to keep him here on the island, but she hated the thought of seeing him go. And yet that was exactly what would happen tomorrow morning when the ship she had arranged for him set out on its journey.
Moll looked down at her plate sadly. She had completely lost track of anything else that was going on in the dining room. Her mind was on tonight. One more night. She would tell him tonight and then she would let him go.
Larka was far less distractable than her mistress. She was scanning the room constantly. She could almost literally see the battle lines being drawn and she was on high alert.
(ok Kal probably does need to post now and when is Krauser going to bring up the subject of rewards again. I'm getting bored)

((Yea. I can post believably now))
Walon lowered himself down into a seat and began quietly eating his meal. His eyes payed attention not to he food in front of him, but to the beasts around him. You could never tell when trouble would start. And he wanted to be ready for it. The Queen must not be in danger.

The feast was nearing its end, with the beasts finishing off their meals, and some conversation went on during the time since Walon and Mako arrived. The head of the servants returned to the dining room after a brief absence, followed by several other servants that brought in various desserts. Geoffry stood over to one side as the servants placed the dessert on the long table, once they had completed the task, the stoat stepped forward. "Enjoy the dessert. There isn't that much poison in it." With that, Geoffry left the dining room with the rest of the servants.
The general was not quick to grab for the fresh deserts that were placed upon the table, for the ferret had his mind directed to other matters. He pondered over whether any of the beasts he promised a reward to deserved it; Zahn did of course, as well as the always loyal Major Alexander, but what about Renak and Krauser? Krauser did openly side with that Vincent beast, which Drask didn't like, but other than that, the stoat may have earned a reward. Now there was Renak, he did nothing to prove whether he deserved one or not, but the tough looking weasel did act dignified at the feast. It appeared that he would allow all four beasts that reward he promised. Drask started to reach for his wine bottle again to pour yet another glass of wine, but he was already feeling slightly intoxicated, so the ferret wisely avoided it.

Krauser was without a doubt a bit intoxicated, maybe even a little more than that. After downing 6 chalices of wine. Though surprisingly he must have not been a stranger to it because he showed little signs of full blown stupid drunkenness. He leaned forward and whispered to Drask with a slight slur in his voice. "So errrr.... Now that the feast is at it's end... Does that mean we get our rewards now?" A big sharp toothy grin on his face as he said it.
Callista was a bit surprised on how short and small this feast really was. It was really no different than peasants having a big get-together at the nearest family house during a certain time of the season. Though of course, this was really just a small island off the coast of Mossflower Country..... Maybe she had expected to much when she shouldn't have....
Mako was uncomfortable in this environment. Outnumbered and surrounded like this with the Princess without any kind of walls of stone or shields. Sure, the royal family army was very used to being outnumbered. They were outnumbered almost all the time during war, but as long as they were more than ten, they could knock down forty or fifty before they would go down. But no more than four against hundreds? The odds made him feel slightly sick to his stomach, he bearly drank nor ate during the entire end of the feast. The half breed just sat there with bearly any emotion on his face just hoping the time would suddenly fly by so they could leave....

Moll took a bite of her desert and smiled. She looked around at the other beasts who seemed more hesitant. "Dig in, please. It really is very good." She scooped up another forkful and mumbled to herself, "Yes that vixen is definitely going to get a promotion." Moll was pleased with the way the feast had gone: the food was good and nobeast had been killed. She was also glad that it was nearly over. Now she could lay her mind to rest and concentrate on what was to come after.
Behind the queen, her guards did not relax. They knew that until everybeast left the table that there was still a threat and they would see their duty through till the last guest was seen to their quarters.
