The weasel nodded, heading down the left hallway towards the barracks. The medbay was next to the armoury, across the hallway and in front of the barracks themselves. The hallway was bare, save for some newspaper clutter and a few empty vodka bottles in one corner at the far end of the hallway. Alcohol and guns mixed so well, the weasel thought dryly, with some contempt as well. (< ) he stopped at a heavy metal door, with a red wooden cross hanging upon it. The door itself was dented in one or two places, probably from the occasional fight or squabble that ironically landed a beast or two into the medbay. As soon as they arrived at the door, he waited with the rat for Anna to open the door.

Anna leaned hard against the heavy door to push it open and then ushered the other beasts inside. The stench of blood and disease and decay was barely covered by the reek of medicines and cleaning solutions. She still hadn't quite gotten used to the smell. Every time she entered the medbay it hit her like a hammer. She made a face and gestured to some hard plastic chairs for the weasel and rat to sit in while they waited. "Ashlyn, I've got some fresh meat for you," she called back to the healer in a joking voice and then smiled genuinely at the patients, "She'll be with you in a mo." You had to keep a sense of humor in a place like this, otherwise you'd go insane.

The weasel allowed himself a thin smile in return as he helped the rat sit down. However, the weasel himself kept standing as he heard a voice from an alcove to his right. "Who's it this time? Did Vlad shoot himself again?" That same humor was apparent in Ashlyn's voice as she emerged a second later into the room, a slim vixen of average height, wearing a bandana and two bracelets in addition to her normal healer's outfit. She stopped upon seeing the weasel. "Bane! Since when did you get here?"
The weasel shrugged. "Just a few minutes ago." The vixen's brown eyes wandered to the rat. "Oh. I see Robert here is injured." She said, the rat grumbling in response to his formal name being useed in public. Stalkers as well as their associates preferred anonymity, as the military liked prosecuting people in the Zone left and right. It helped to have an alias or nickname. Ashlyn walked forward, still wanting to talk to Bane and Robert about what happened, but healers were meant to heal, not talk. "Here, just move your head some..." She set about examining the wound.

Anna kicked her self mentally when Ashlyn asked her who had come. She hadn't thought to ask their names. But she obviously knew them. Anna wondered if she would ever be as familiar with the locals as the healer was. It was important for her to know the ins and outs of the society, almost as important as the medical knowledge she had studied so hard to gain. Bane, odd name. Probably a nickname. Most beasts went by names other than their own. She knew this at least. But it meant she had to learn twice as much about each of her patients. Healers were often questioned by the authorities and doctor/patient confidentiality was generally governed by cash or the muzzle of a gun staring you in the face. Maybe it would be better not to know somethings. That way she could claim ignorance if anybeast came asking questions. "Can I get you anything, Ash?" she asked knowing that the healer would need her instruments to work.

"Yeah," She responded, leaning forward to examine the bite marks on the rat's neck. "I'll need the disinfectant and some bandages. Looks like you two ran into some zombies."
Bane exhaled through his nose. "Wasted a good magazine on 'em." Ammunition was scarce in the Zone, as it was being used up every day. And what was left was often pricey. Having said this, the weasel took out his 1911s, remembering that they were nearly out of ammo as well. Their silver finish glistened in the fluorescent light, the split slides locked back in the 'empty' position. Bane set about reloading them, taking out two magazines from his vest.

Anna stood for a moment, dazzled by the light reflecting off the guns. There was no real reason for them to affect her this way. It's not like she'd never seen a gun before. They were everywhere in the Zone. She had two herself, well, three if you counted the old hunting rifle that had belonged to her grandfather, but it was more of a museum piece than an actual serviceable weapon. Suddenly she realized that she was staring and looked up into the face of the weasel that Ashlyn had called Bane. She mumbled something unintelligible, spun around, and went to get the things the healer had requested from the other room. Returning quickly she laid the objects on a table within Ashlyn's reach and stepped back out of the way.

Bane himself raised an eyebrow at Anna as he put each magazine in the pistols, hearing her mutter something. He himself wasn't one to whistle at the pretty females, or take any action towards 'hitting on them'. He had his teenage experiences, though, as any normal beast would have. Those times seemed far behind him now, as he is plunged into a sort of debt. He saw the Zone as an avenue of escape, by selling rare items to vendors for enormous sums of money.
"Thank you." Ashlyn said, taking the supplies off of the table, using the disinfectant first. "Are you sure you won't sit down, Bane?" The vixen asked, turning towards the weasel. "I'm fine." He responded, holstering the weapons.

Anna watched closely while the healer worked. She wasn't so proud as to think that she knew everything about treating wounds. She could have done a serviceable job on her own but studying a professional would only make her better. For this reason and others she wouldn't admit to herself she kept her eyes focused on the rat Ashlyn was ministering to. She didn't look up when she spoke to Bane or when he answered. When Ashlyn needed her help to hold a bandage in place her paw shot out ready, without having to be asked.

Ashlyn nodded in silent thanks to Anna as she bound the bandage to the rat. "That should do it." She informed him after another minute or two. The rat looked up at her. "So do I get my sucker now?" He joked, though his voice was flat. The vixen smiled, showing her white teeth. Ashlyn always strained beasts around the base to be healthy (By example or otherwise) so they didn't wind up here again. "I'm afraid we're all out of suckers, Robert." She replied, picking up the disinfectant and bandages to be put away. "Now just rest up, and you should be fine." She adds, storing the materials away in a drawer.
Bane, meanwhile, looked around the office. Well, there was Ashlyn's desk to his right, where he knew to be a SPAS 12 shotgun hidden underneath, various cabinets to his left, and straight ahead were small cots for patients to rest upon. The rat, after conferring with Ashlyn a little, walked over to the cots, picked one, and laid down upon it.
"Now, Bane," The vixen said as she saw him reaching into his pocket for more currency, "You know things like these are free of charge." The weasel sighed, withdrawing his paw from his pocket. "I know. I forgot."

A wildcat limped into the hospital clutching his right shoulder. He was tall and powerfully built. His fur was scruffy with a dark brown color. He had black lynx pattern stripes and had a large black ring around his left eye. He wore a white t-shirt with a red flannel overshirt and jeans and had a black cowboy hat on tilted over his face slightly. The larger of the two otters looked up at him and grinned wryly. Yer gun backfire on ye again, Ringo matey? The wildcat raised an eyebrow and nodded lightly. Aye, 'Tori. That it did. What's it to yer?

Anna skipped over to the Wildcat, glad of the distraction, and smiled, "Come on, Ring. We'll get ya fixed up." She led him to a cot and nodded for him to sit. She prodded the shoulder gently, checking for broken bones or dislocation. It seemed to be sound. The fur was singed a bit and the skin beneath was red from the heat of the blast but it wasn't a terrible burn. "You're gonna have a nasty bruise but I think you'll live." She worked deftly to clean the spot so it wouldn't become infected. While she worked she glanced back at Bane out of the corner of her eye. He'd practically carried the rat here for treatment and then offered to pay. Not many beasts would do a thing like that.

Ringo stood after she had finished working and bowed politely. My thanks to ye, Miss Anna. I greatly appreciate your help. He picked up his .44 revolver and put it back in its holster before picking up his hat and putting back on his head, tipping politely to Anna.

"Mind if I rest here a bit?" Bane asked Ashlyn. "Oh, sure." The vixen replied, sensing that Bane wanted to talk, either to her, or Anna, the latter of which being a strong possibility in her eyes. In all the days she has known Bane, Ashlyn has picked up on a few things. Like for instance when he sits down, he slumps forward instead of leans back, and he fidgets with his paws, a sign of a wandering and systematic mind. The weasel finally took a seat, after removing the AK74 off of his back and setting it aside rather carefully. He looked at the wildcat curiously as he sat, listening to the conversation as he did indeed fiddle and fidget with his paws.

"Oh, it's alright, Ring," Anna smiled. "That's what we're here for." She could feel the weasel's eyes turned towards them but she tried her darnedest to ignore it and focus on her patient. "If the burn starts bothering you a lot, come on back and I'll put some more salve on it." She had developed a soft spot for the wildcat. He was so polite, just a big kitten really. She left him and went to wash her paws at the sink with the strong smelling antibacterial green soap. He would be back. She wondered if he got hurt specifically to come and see her. She didn't really mind. Now some of the other creatures who came calling she could do without. Sometimes she thought she feared the normal flesh and blood males more than the mutants out in the wild land. It was about a 20/1 ratio of male to female out here. Anna had to be on her guard constantly.

Sev stared down the sight of his sniper rifle. He was targeting a group of zombies headed in the direction of the medical facility. He lined up the first zombie and disintegrated its head with a head shot. The second one had its chest blown away. As he reloaded, he said to himself. "Gosh I love these Sabre rounds!" ((Saber rounds flatten out in flight to become a spinning disk roughly six inches across.))
