The old vole shook his head, "I was hoping it wouldn't come to this, but I suppose if it's the best way to prevent the loss of lives it must be done." He turned around and hobbled back into his room that served as bed chamber and office. His arthritis was bad and every creature knew he needed a hip replacement but he always claimed to be too busy with Abbey business. "Come on in," he instructed Tamar and Garret and he smiled back over his shoulder at Tamar but spoke to Garret, "I suppose you're going to let the sweet voice of our archivist be the bringer of the bad news?"

"Yes. As I'm sure you can understand, it'll likely go over better if Tamar is the one to do the announcement. I mean, all things considered, the beasts of this abbey don't want to see me around. They don't need to have me on the loudspeaker system, telling them things they dont want to hear." Garret said, looking at Tamar, and smiling. He turned back to Johnathan.
"It's the best thing for the creatures of the abbey. For their safety, we're asking them to leave. It is their choice, but if you could give them an imperative to go, somehow, I'd be thankful."

Tamar looked back and forth between them and then went to the desk and sat down. She pulled over an old olive green, hard plastic, reject from an elementary school P.A. mike. The whole system was actually donated to the Abbey by a school when they updated their own system. It was a bit static-y but it served the purpose.
The squirrelwife flipped the on switch on the control panel and hovered her paw over the call button, "What exactly do you want me to tell them?"

Jasyn sighed when Garret left. "This is new, a search and retrieval mission, without the search...." The mercenary fox started towards the door, then stopped a passing sister. "Where's the attic?" The squirrel mutely pointed in a direction then scampered off, obviously scared of his appearance. The fox clicked his tongue. "Geeze. It's not like I'm gonna kill anyone here..." He went off to the stairs and climbed. When he emerged into the dusty attic, he looked around. "Heloooo." He called. "Is there a Silas up here?"

"Tell them that, due to unfortunate circumstances, we have to suggest they leave. Anybeast who wants to leave, to feel completely safe, should head out to the grounds, and speak to the soldiers waiting there. Anybeast who wants to defend the abbey, find me in great hall. All others, just go about thier buisiness." Garret droned. He rubbed his shoulder, having a sudden chill.
"Well, something along those lines, anyway. We obviously don't speak the exact same way. That's why you're doing this." The soldier joked.
"Leon is going to give me a count of all the families and indeviduals out there, so I can call an exact number of choppers. I hate mass evacs. They make one feel so... well, bad."
----------------------------------
There was a clatter, a thud, and a noticeable cloud of dust erupting from a door to an attic room. Silas stumbled out, covered in dust, coughing.
"Wha'sat?"

Tamar smirked at him and then looked down at the desk trying to figure out how to how to word this 'announcement' in the best possible way.
"I'll say a word to my creatures as well if you think it will be helpful," Abbot Johnathan reached forward and placed a comforting paw on her arm.
"Yes, I think they would find that comforting." Tamar nodded at him and then turned back to the microphone and took a deep breath. Then she pushed the call button and began, "My fellow Abbeydwellers, it is my unfortunate task to inform you that under our present circumstances our wise leaders feel it would be best for our civilian members to leave the Abbey for a time. Just as in days of old our home has come under the attack of those who would wish to breach our walls and harm our creatures. Those of you who wish and are in a position to fight for our dear Abbey should gather in the Great Hall for instructions. All those who cannot or do not wish to fight and those with families are urged to pack your things and gather on the front lawns so that you may be relocated to a secure location until such a time as this trouble passes. . ." At this point Tamar's voice broke the PA went off with a squeal.

The cloud reached Jasyn, and the mercenary fox had trouble not breathing in the stuff. The dust settled on his trenchcoat, and he tried to get it all off without coughing. No such luck. The fox began choking and hacking. Jasyn snarled then beat his chest with a clenched paw. "Are you Silas? Garret asked me to find you. He wants to know if your in an agreement with him."

"Please, Father Abbot. It'll put them at ease, and maybe cause more families to leave, and be safe." Garret said, heading toward the door.
"I have to meet up with the Redwall Militia, if anybeast shows."
-------------------------------------
Silas had been about to ask what Garret wanted to agree upon, when the announcement went out.
"I agree with the decision. It's the best course of action." Silas wheezed, coughing up the rest of the dust from his lungs. He patted himself down, the dust rising in plumes where he touched his jacket.
"Let's go down to Great Hall, we'll do more good there. Besides, Garret'll probly be in there anyway."

Tamar sniffed and wiped a tear from her eye. Hormones, she blamed silently. Then she nodded to Garret, "Si and I will be there and I can think of a few others." Then she got up from the desk and held the chair out for the Abbot.
Johnathan took the chair, "Thank you, Tamar. You can run along. I can take it from here." He took a moment to gather his thoughts before he began his own announcement.
Tamar followed Garret to the door. "I hope that was alright. Sorry I kind of lost it at the end."

"I understand Tamar. The message has been sent throughout the abbey. Well, I somewhat uderstand, anyway. I don't completely understand certain stresses you must be expieriencing. I don't understand them at all, in fact, but..." Garret trailed off, this conversation obviously being awkward for him.
He suddenly put a paw to the BlueTooth headset that was on his right ear.
"There are already beasts appearing outside."
"You might remember Skyra,(I don't think Blackie would mind, if she was here.) I'm pretty sure you met her once."

"Yeah we've met." She smirked at him and mumbled the word, "Paris." as if that should have some meaning to him. But then she became serious again. She fiddled with the copper sea-sickness bracelet on her wrist which thankfully up to this point had warded off any morning sickness.
She wanted to say this before they were surrounded by other beasts again, "Garret, thanks for keeping this quiet. It's not that I don't want to tell Si, or that I think he'll be mad. I really think he'll be thrilled even though we didn't really plan on anything like this happening so soon. I just . . . I'm afraid he'll want to send us away."
When she said the word 'us' her paw went reflexively to her stomach. "I'm staying," she announced defiantly, "and I don't want to fight with him about this. I know they would just love to get their paws on me to use me against you and Si. And he may think that by sending me away he would be protecting me but. . ." She shuddered. "You and I both know that they could find me if they really wanted to." She gave him a meaningful look. Even though she didn't know as much about the enemies they were facing as Garret and Silas did, she knew enough to know that they were to be taken seriously. (she could still be kidnapped at some point if you want)
She was about to say more when she heard hurried paw steps coming down from the attic stairs behind them. "Silas," She went to him. "Was my announcement okay?"

(Actually, that's the thing about Skyra. She's uh... being held captive.)
Silas smiled at her. "It was fine, dear(IDK, I cannot do couple nicknames). It's... unfortunate that things have come to this. Garret, do we even know if Regulas is coming? Or are we just causing a panic for nothing?"
"There's no panic... Well, I had gotten this message on my phone earlier:
'Nice try... This time you and all your little friends are going to die, Mr. Strife, and I will personally make your death as painful as possible. Oh, and by the way, I know where you are, and if you leave, I'll still demolish Redwall. You can't expect any help from the government, either, as they're going to be a bit busy. One more thing... Ms. Jet is doing fine, in case you were wondering. We're being very hospitable to her, after all, she is a guest. =D'
And there's a little smiley face. So, yes... I think he's on the way, with a very large force, most likely. We'll be ready. Lets head to great hall, it's time to prepare for war.
Oh, and yes, we can expect help from the government. The American one, at least. They won't do much, but the whole of the EU won't do anything, so any help is good.
Jasyn, if you could head out to the chopper and get those containers that were strapped to dolleys in the back, I'd be much obliged."
"Garret, thanks for getting these beasts out of here. We don't need any innocent deaths."
"No, we don't. Oh, wait..."
"Garret, It's Leon. About two-thirds of the abbey is out here, around 100 creatures, about 17 familes, with 17 lone beasts."
"Thanks."
He switched the Channel on his headset.
"Jonas? Yeah. We're going to need 20 choppers. Mmm Hmm, more are leaving than I expected."

When he told them about the phone message Tamar gasped and covered her mouth with her paw. "Garret, I'm sorry. I really had no idea." The situation was becoming more real to her every second. She moved closer to Silas and put an arm around him as she felt his arm go protectively around her shoulders. She was distracted by a disturbance at the front doors.
"No, I am not leaving so you can get your d*** paws off me!" Conium shook off the guiding paw of one of the American soldiers. She spotted Tamar and Silas and walked over towards the familiar faces. She looked at Garret and nodded. Even small for a badger she was a good head taller than he was but she still sensed his leadership in this situation. "I might not be the best fighter if it came down to it but I think I have something you might be able to use." In her short time at the abbey she had come to love the place and think of it as her home. If her discovery could help these creatures than maybe just maybe it was not in vane.

Garret looked at Tamar. "Don't worry. I WILL get her back. And I swear if has done anything at all to her I'll rip his heart out..."
At Conium's words he turned. "And what might that be, Miss? Any help would be appreciated, but unless you can design a bomb or operate a weapon, it won't make an overly large difference, I'm afraid."

Conium looked around suspiciously at the soldiers. Her hand went to a cord around her neck but she was hesitant to remove the object that hung at the end of it. "Do they have to be here?" She nodded towards the nearest soldier.
Tamar looked from the badgermaid to Garret and back again. She had been curious since the young American female had come to the Abbey about who she really was and what she was running away from.
