Age: 2 1/2 seasons (developmentally like a 3 year old child)
Species: weasels
Gender: Male
Allegiance: Neutral
Appearance:
The twins look like miniature versions of their father minus the scars he acquired over the seasons. Dark brown fur covers most of their bodies save for their creamy underbellies and a patch of light brown that each of them carries over one ear. Roasky's is on the left and Redak's is on the right.Belongings:
Now that they are starting to loose a little of their dibbun fat they are shaping up to be long and lean like their father was. They show all the signs that they will be strong when they are older. Thunder is slightly shorter and stockier than his brother.
Their eyes are the one feature that obviously comes from their mother: green/brown and sharp like an eagle's.
Their clothing is made up of whatever scraps their mother, Kolia can manage to put together.
To make it easier to tell them apart Kolia uses yellow vegetable die to paint the shape of a lightning bolt on little Rosky's cheek.
they each have a sling that they are learning to use (Mum doesn't trust them with sharp objects yet) and they like to collect interesting stones both for throwing and just to look at.Job or Position:
Sons of Kolia and RoaskPersonality:
The twins are what their mother has made them: crafty and suspicious, especially Lightning. He has an innate sense that Kolia is almost afraid of he and his brother and he is learning to take advantage of this. He is moody and manipulative and gets really sullen when he can't have his own way.History and Background Information:
Thunder is not quite as bright as his brother (no pun intended). He is more of an average dibbun, the brawn of the duo, and his mute brother's mouthpiece.
Thunder may speak for them both but Lightning is definitively the brains behind the operation.
The twins' father, Roask, was the leader of a mercenary band. Their mother, Kolia was his second in command. They were careful to hide the fact that they were mates from the rest of the band. It was Roask who decided he wanted to go for bigger prey when Kolia, who was a tracker, brought back news of Redwall Abbey. She had only just found out she was pregnant when she went into the Abbey as a ruse to get the rest of the band inside. How could the abbey-dwellers resist an ailing pregnant creature? It was almost too easy, but she hadn't counted on the her hormones which through the extremes of tender nurturer to her unborn child and murderous anger at the one who had done this to her and left her here with these beasts. In a rage she threw a dagger at the back of her mate who fell over the Redwall battlements never to be seen again, at least by Kolia. Her sanity was still in question as she settled into the infirmary and was finally broken when she had this dream:Any other details:
And then she was back on the battle field where her father had died. There was the figure lying on the ground, but as in her other dream it was not her father but Roask lying there dying. There was another figure bending over him as she had once bent over her father. It was a young weasel. It looked like, but no it couldn't also be Roask. He looked very much like Roask only a little younger. And then the young weasel turned to face her. His eyes were like her own. She knew she was looking into the eyes of her own son.
Then a curious thing happened. This young weasel, who looked so much like his father, split into to identical weasels. The first was silent and quick, with a mark like a lightning bolt painted on each cheek. The face of the second was unmarked but he was screaming like thunder.
Kolia now began to wonder about her point of view. If she wasn't the child looking down on the father as she had been once upon a time, where was she? She was lying someplace warm and comfortable. It was a bed, peaceful and inviting.
Kolia looked up again at her twin sons from the comfort of the bed. They were coming towards her. Their father was dead. They were coming to take their revenge on her.
Suddenly Kolia recognized the bed in which she found herself. This was the bed where she had found her own mother in the arms of the Warlord who had killed her father. Her mother who had sold out she and her father for the warmth and security of this bed.
But Kolia hadn't sold out Roask and her children, had she? She hadn't run into the arms of a great protector. Kolia was afraid to look but she couldn't stop herself. Whose bed had she chosen over Roask's? She screamed when she saw him: the warrior mouse from the picture on the tapestry. Kolia had run into the arms of Redwall.
Kolia fled Redwall determined to find Roask and bring him a hostage from the Abbey. Which had been the original plan. The creature she took however was not an Abbeybeast at all but instead a young haremaid from Salamandastron. She lost her hostage when she was forced to stop and have her babies delivered by a healer fox who was part of a band of strolling players.

They were born on a stormy night as their names suggest. Little Roasky came into the world silently as he would always remain, during a bright flash of lightning. His brother came next, as thunder always fallows lightning, howling louder than his namesake.
For a season Kolia continued to look for her mate wondering still if he was dead or alive but as the twins grew she knew they could not keep up with the transitory life and they were getting to heavy for her to carry. So she found an abandoned shack in the woodlands (well it was abandoned after she slit the throat of the previous owner and sent him on his final journey down the river and to the sea) and settled in with her sons. Here she waits impatiently for them to grow big and strong enough to go searching for Roask once more.
Kolia also fears retaliation from the Red Horde. The group she and Roask were a part of before they left to start their own mercenary band was an offshoot of the Horde. They also know of her prowess as a tracker because her father Redak Quickeye was a well known tracker and he taught her everything he knew.
