These are some basic guidelines on how to get your character approved and save yourselves any hassle.
1. So you have a character in you head that you want to create. Before you go about creating a new thread in the Approvals Pending section you need to check the species list to be sure your characters species is there.
2. If your characters species is there then good, go ahead and click "new thread". However be warned, if your characters species has a * next to it, you need to send a "personal message" (PM) to either carabadgermum or Fred, the admins to get approval for the species first. Once you have approval then click "new thread".
3. Once you have clicked "new thread" you will see a form appear that is slightly different to a normal post form. This is there to help you structure your profile. Begin filling in your profile taking note of the hints down the right hand side of the form. These are clues as to what we are going to be looking for. You must fill out every section except for the last "Any Other Details" which is just for you to use if you have anything else to say about your character that does not fit anywhere else.
4. Before posting your characters profile be sure to check your spelling. Unfortunately there is no spell checker available for the characters form. So either check through it yourself or copy and paste what you have written into a word processing program and use the spell check on there. I personally write my profiles in a word processor first and then copy them into the relevant boxes.
We do check your spelling. If there is a word that you have spelled wrong then we will most likely change it for you. However if your characters profile is riddled with mistakes then we will ask you to change them before it is approved.
5. When you have finished your profile click "post". Your profile will then appear in the "Approvals Pending" board ready to be reviewed by a staff member. If you do not finish your profile for any reason then please put "(Not Finished)" in the thread title after your characters name so that the staff are aware not to review it yet.
6. If you have posted your profile as unfinished, when it is finished please remove the part of the title that says "(Not Finished)" and also post a reply that says finished so that the staff are aware and it does not get lost at the end of all the other profiles. If a profile is left unfinished for more than a few weeks it may well be moved to the archives at which point you will need to PM an admin to have it retrieved if you still want it.
7. When your profile has been reviewed by a staff member it will either;
Be replied to saying "Approved",
Or
The staff member with give you information regarding how to get it approved. They will try and give you some ideas on how to improve the profile but they will not do it for you. They will also not simply say that it is not approved or just say that you need to make it longer.
If you have been asked to work on your profile, when you have finished your improvements please let the staff know by posting a reply quickly saying that you have improved it so that it is brought to our attention and is not just left sitting there.
8. As soon as you profile has been given the ok by one of the staff it will be moved to the Approved section and you can begin to use that character in roleplays.
Hope this helps solve any confusion in the future.
