The first thing another beast would notice about Zahn would be his small stature, for the fox is below the average height for males of his species. Despite being short, Zahn cuts a handsome figure. What he lacks in height the fox made up for in his constant training, which built up lean muscle on his small figure. Zahn has bright gray-blue eyes that seem far too warm for a vermin to have them. Almost always, the fox is clothed in his uniform. As an officer in Riftgard's Army, he wears black stained armor that has crimson highlights on the shoulders, elbows, and a single jagged bolt of crimson lighting on each arm, the colors of Drask. His rank of corporal is indicated on the right side of the breastplate; which is a simple yellow bar that has a green dot in the center. When Zahn is not required to where that armor, he still sticks to Drask's colors; wearing a crimson red tunic that all the officers wear when they are off duty.

Zahn owns a saber that he keeps sheathed at his side at all times, as well as the standard issue dirk that all officers carry. Besides his weapons and armor, he has nothing.

Personality:

Zahn is quick on his paws like his mother was, with intelligence that the majority of vermin lack. The fox shares the ambition that moves beasts like Drask onward, and he puts his duty to the ferret general and to Riftgard in front of all else. His loyalty is undoubted by all of his superiors, which has helped him to remain among Drask's personal division of soldiers. Zahn is cool under pressure, and is a natural leader. But the fox has a short temper whenever somebeast makes mention of his height, which has triggered more than a few fights.

History and Background Information:

If it wasn't for Drask and his call for recruits, Zahn would still be stuck in Mossflower, but before we get to that, we'll start at his beginning.

Zahn was born in deep Mossflower Woods, to a fox in a traveling band of vermin that attempted to raid the woodlanders. For the most part his parent's group were unsuccessful, often being chased by the beasts they tried to kill. Somehow, Zahn managed to stay alive in the vermin band, with no help from his father, who, unlike him, was tall and broad shouldered. Zahn took more after his mother, a short fox who was quick on her paws.

When Zahn was sixteen years old, the band was contacted by a bold Pine Marten that was wearing crimson red armor. The beast asked for volunteers to join with the army of some beast named Drask Darkfang. Zahn was eager to escape Mossflower and find a better life than the one other vermin lead. Out of the band, he was the only beast who went along with the Pine Marten, a beast named Alexander. Alexander told him all about the military genius that was Drask, that only increased Zahn's desire to join up.

When Zahn arrived at Riftgard, along with several hundred other beasts from Mossflower and the Northlands, they all underwent rigorous training. Zahn managed to catch the king's eye when he bested one of the more experienced captains in a saber duel. Drask put Zahn through several various drills to find out how intelligent the fox was. Zahn passed them all with flying colors, and Drask promoted him to corporal. After being promoted, he was taught to speak properly as well as the skill of writing, both of which were required of all of Drask's officers.
