Name: Lord Greysburrow
Age: 40 (human years)
Species: Stoat/Otter
Gender: Male
Appearance: Greysburrow looks to be a tall, stately looking creature, with his fur tinted a dark gray. Despite his approach of middle age, Graysburrow still remains reasonably fit and considerably strong. His clothes are mainly colored black; He wears a black shirt with fine brass buttons ascending the center, tied at the waist with a black belt, and garns a regal black cape which drapes down from his shoulders. His face, while permanently bearing an expression of aloofness, has the ability to convey charm and win over even the most sceptical of beasts. Indeed, from the air of aristocracy his appearance now conveyx, it's impossible to tell that he was once a stoat.
Belongings: a wooden cane topped with a golden ball, and a sabre that is ever present at his side.
Personality: To the unwitting creature, Greysburrow is simply an intellegent upper class being, acting with an air of slight superiority and self confidence that can irritate the common worker; yet, upon further observation, it appears that the otter has a certain reliable quality about him, is rather clever, and can be trusted with most anything. But what the unknowing observer cannot be aware of is that a majority of these traits are merely a front: Greysburrow is indeed intellegent, clever, and well spoken, but underneath his well crafted facade, the stoat is ruthless, ambitious, and desires to expand his power into a kingdom all his own.
History: Greysburrow, despite future appearances, started life as an average stoat dwelling in Mossflower. He had joined a few gangs who claimed that they had the ability to take the great Redwall Abbey, yet the stoat watched and every one of them fail in their attempt. And thus, Greysburrow came to the conclusion that Redwall could never be subdued by force alone; the only way one could conquer it would be if one could get inside the building without raising suspision, and then to steadily expand one's influence so as to be in complete control. Of course, being a stoat of poor class, Greysburrow would be hard pressed to decieve anyone. Therefore, the stoat resolved not only to find a way of gaining entry into Redwall, but to do everything in his power to be removed from suspicion forever.
The first step in his quest was to change his appearance entirely; as a stoat he was liable to be considered capable of seizing power, but as a woodlander he would be free to act without prying eyes. Therefore, Greysburrow employed two skilled vixens, who were able to perform the surgery required to make Greysburrow look like an otter; indeed, they had performed the act so well that the transition was totally undetectable. From there, Greysburrow moved to Southsward, whereupon, after gaining a job amongst the royal family, he learned the mannerisms and actions of the nobles, and was soon able to emulate them himself.
With his class movement perfected, Greysburrow returned to Mossflower, where he manufactured a background of being a partner in a ship-manufacturing company, on an island far south of this country, which he was sent on business to meet a Mr. Farthings (who, of course, was ficticious) and who was reported to be staying in the Abbey. And surely the monks wouldn't turn away a harmless business otter?
