Age: 25 Years (Ragnar) 20 Years (Caden)
Species: Wildcats
Gender: Male
Allegiance: Evil
Appearance:
Ragnar is your typical wildcat, having grizzled fur. It's of an orange tabby pattern, and his body is covered in scars, the most prominent one being directly across his face, from the base of his left eye to his right cheekbone, caused by doing battle with his father for control of the horde of ermine and foxes.Belongings:
His eyes are that of a pale yellow and green mixture, which prominently protrude when Ragnar is angry, clearly showing his expression to those around him, though his range of sight is quite large because of the placing of his eyes, which makes his appearance all the more fierce. His teeth are unkempt, being yellow from plaque as well as eating any beasts that the horde or Ragnar manage to find.
He is always seen covered by a white fox mantle, dyed purple when not in battle. And when entering battle or leaving the confines of the camp, he can be seen with a polished steel helmet with a steel spike on the top, and a chainmail neck guard hanging down from the back of the helmet. He also wears a steel cuirass, polished just like his helmet, and a moleskin cloak clasped by the skull of a falcon.
Caden is the epitome of beauty for a wildcat. She has a glorious figure, and her skill with a blade is unsurpassed. So much so that she does not carry any scars from battle. Her sable fur is always neatly combed, and she wears a royal blue cloak, however she has no need for armour due to the finesse in her fighting style.
Her eyes are a pale blue, shaped like almonds, set in the middle of her face, and like Ragnar, giving her a good range of sight because of the shape. Her teeth are not like her husband's due to her having a fetish for keeping things clean.
Ragnar has four main things which he considers his prized possessions. They would be his armour and helmet, his steel broadsword and kite shield, the banner he had made so that all would know he was approaching and that death would be the only outcome, and his tent, like his cape made out of moleskin.Job or Position:
Caden only has one possession which is her own, that being the keen blade of her sword. It was made in a blast furnace in the wastelands of the icy north, it leaves a wound which feels like ice, and so she properly named the sword "shard". Other than that, her and Ragnar share the tent and standard.
Warlord and Lady of the White HordePersonality:
He is a commander through and through, and only speaks to those within the command circle in the horde. Otherwise he's irritable, and those who get too close or tell him things he does not want to hear, he'll tear them apart, limb from limb. He has no regard for other's feelings, Ragnar himself has no feelings other than rage, though he does show some affection to his wife Caden, who he lovingly cherishes, as well as protects, though her need of it is rate.History and Background Information:
He does not care what others think as well, not to mention he has no regard for life, except for his own and his wife's. His commanders, if they cross him, or die in battle, he'll eat them as though they were specifically meant for food.
Caden is almost the polar opposite of Ragnar, in that she has a caring motherly side. Although she is feared just as much as Ragnar, perhaps even more so, since she is so caring, her angry side is like hell unleashing it's inferno. She dislikes things being messy, and it has led to more than one argument between her and Ragnar, due to his breath, resulting with him sleeping outside the tent until he cleans them. Though the troops would never say anything to Ragnar, knowing that they would be snapped like a twig if they ever ticked him off. And while Caden is a fierce warrior, she treats all of her opponents with respect, and if severely wounded she'll bring them into the camp to be healed. Much to the chagrin of Ragnar, but she has a hold over him that lets her get away with anything. Though it is somewhat helpful because by her helping those she's fought, it fills up the losses for the horde.
Ragnar had been born at the far north, in the land of Ice. It was an area where you needed to be strong to survive, and Ragnar's clan was the strongest in the entire area. Well it wasn't when Ragnar's father Kire was the leader. See Kire was getting old, and while he was still physically strong, his mind was worse than that of a cub. It lasted for a number of years, starting when Ragnar was only in his teens. However out of respect for his father, he didn't challenge any of his decisions. That was until his father ordered Ragnar's execution.Any other details:
Though it was right after his wedding to Caden when it happened. Kire had arranged for his son to marry the daughter of the high king of the north, Otias. The wedding was one of pomp and grandeur, and it was only agreed to because the White Horde had holdings which Otias wanted. He was essentially the lord of the realm, but the only one that held out for so long was the White Horde, and even with the ailing leader, Otias could not make any gains into their land. He believed that the marriage alliance would allow him to gain the precious resources in the south. So the marriage happened, though through the many years prior, Caden and Ragnar had already known each other. They had met as little ones, and because of their opposite lifestyles they couldn't stand one other.
However Ragnar was attracted to her beauty, and eventually his grim appearance began to grow on her. They began to go and see each other more and more. Being fond of simply basking in the other's presence. So while their parents believed the marriage was political, they knew it as love.
But then came Kire's order for Ragnar to be executed. Thing's happened so fast, and before he knew it, Ragnar and Caden had planed to overthrow both their parents. Kire was the easiest, since he had no authority, and Ragnar on the night that the order was given for the headsman to be called, he made his way into his father's chambers. He carried his trident, and was determined to kill his dad. Entering into the room, Kire was sitting by the fireplace keeping himself warm, when he heard his son enter. Arising from his chair, he drew the good sword at his side. He then spoke to his son and said "I know why you're here, so let us be done with it." They fought for many hours, and while being old and senile, Kire was still a hearty warrior. He even wounded his son across the face, during a deadlock between the weapons. Ragnar ended up getting two things to remind him of the fierce battle; the notch in his trident, and the grizzly scar across his face.
Though it was youth which was able to withstand, and Kire knowing his energy was spent, put down his sword and let his son spear him through the chest. Afterwards, he gave the corpse to the horde to feast on. But the old flesh was tough, and so it was used to make leather belts for the officers.
The next plan was for Otias to be taken out. And it was Caden who wanted to do it. It was alot easier for her though, considering that she was an expert with the bow, despite it not being her main weapon. Waiting for her father to sit on his throne in the main hall, she waited on the balcony above with her bow. As soon as he sat down, she let loose an arrow into his chest. He slumped into the chair, looking down at the arrow protruding out of his body. Though quickly Caden made her way down to the throne room, and her father gasped out words "You... would do... this... to your.... own.... father..." Though another arrow was loosed, and embedded in his chest. By now Ragnar and his horde had already entered into the northern palace, the coup d'etat, now complete. The body of Otias was flung from the parapet, and the subjects of the empire feasted on his flesh, for he was a large beast. They did not mourn for him, since not only was he hated, but to get himself killed so easily proved he was weak. And the Lodbrock dynasty had been formed, the weakness of Kire had passed to the strength of his son Ragnar. With Caden his queen, they set up a rule that was just, though ruthless as it was. However the beasts were used to oppression, and honoured strength so what others would say is evil, to them it is merely something natural. So the empire was established, all that remained for Ragnar and Caden was to eliminate their political enemies from the land.
Hope it's alright that there's two of them. But as I started to think of Ragnar's personality and mentioning his wife, I felt that it wouldn't be right for her to just be mentioned in the application, but not played as a character. So I built on it to include Caden as well. (I think she balances out Ragnar quite nicely, otherwise he seems a bit mary-sueish.)
