Vrelt kept his tone strictly neutral, "So what they say about the Northlands is true. Do wolverines still hold power up there? Or has it completely fallen apart?" He wasn't at all interested in the great stupid so called 'Warlords' of that land, Vrelt considered them fools to remain up there, fighting against each other instead of coming south or uniting. They were just like young creatures bickering among themselves. Vrelt wished to create an empire that had the colors of all the great islands, Riftgard, Sampetra, Terramort, Green Isle, and all the small ones in between. That was his greatest ambition, and he was steadily moving toward that goal, and he showed no signs of letting up. Conan's ships joining in his 'Royal Fleet' gave him an added boost in that direction.

Conan shook his head. "Not really. The wolverines had been havin' massive battles with the Wildcats. Though they had lost some big fights, they are still managin' to keep a hold. But since King Richard killed Goremaul and his army lon' ago. It may become more apparent that their rule might come to a end. Goremaul was the best wolverine warlord you could have on yer side, but that wildcat Richard was yer worst nightmare. He and his son Phalanx."
Though it has been a long time since Richard tore into the Northland to deal with Goremaul's savages that had attacked his kingdom. After the wildcat killed Goremaul. He expected that it would cause other tribes to fear him more than their wolverine chieftains. Which would give him time to spread his empire to the south and out to the seas. But after visiting many islands and taking a few smaller ones under his control. He met his end when he attempted something that only the Wildcat Warlord Ungatt Trunn was able to do. Take control of the mountain fortress Salamandastron. Where he was finally killed. But his son, Phalanx. Survived. There is not doubt in any beast's mind that the cat may be looking for revenge now...

"So the more cunning species seems to be winning." Vrelt murmured this half to himself, though he wanted to laugh at Goremaul being called a warlord, he might have had a good sized army, but that wolverine was lacking in other areas, namely, the cunning he had mentioned. The ferret kept his thought to himself, which was another tough thing to do. He hated all this diplomatic junk, the acting like a proper ruler, and showing manners, it was all just plain boring to him. Romsca on the other hand, was skilled in the art of speaking and diplomacy, but she had nothing further to add to the conversation. She simply listened to Vrelt and Conan speak, as pointless as it was. Vrelt spoke up again, "Do you bring any news of changes in power in any of the nearby islands?" He knew if one of the other island empires were having trouble, that he could easily strike and take one of them for his own growing empire.

Conan shook his head. "Not really. As far as I know. The rulers of certain islands are still in power. Except the far western Islands. Either full of savages or drunken' pirate towns and bases. Though I’m not sure about the New land. Only can be watched from a distance and its too dense in jungle to see what lives there…. Let alone rules there at all….”

Vrelt flashed Conan a wicked grin, "Well then captain, who do you think is going to set paw in this 'New World'? I know who it will be." The ferret continued to smile as he spoke again, this time his blue eyes seemed to glisten with the ambition of his Pure Ferret ancestors. "The mighty Warlord of Riftguard, Vrelt Darkfang, will not only be the first there, but I will conquer it. One blood-stained plot of forsaken jungle at a time. Mark those words, Conan. I will do just as I say to you now." Vrelt wondered if indeed he would lead his horde to this New World, but of course he planned to. Once his forces were strengthened even more than they were know. He guessed that Conan would view his words a simple boasting, but any who looked into his eyes would realize he was going to one day sail there, and the bloodied flag of the Darkfang family would be blowing in the wind, proclaiming Rftgaurd's rule over that new land.
