The foxes reply to Skyra told her the information she needed. "My name is Hans Vermeer! High King of a Hidden Island! I came to Mossflower Woods. Looking for beasts to recruit and places to trade with! If you are a warrior. Maybe you might be interested?" The fox gave a large smile. Maybe he might add two more beasts too his forces. Maybe. If the Ferret can turn him into a civilized creature....

Raven leapt out of the tree restlessly, strode boldy between the bowcats and started working on building another fire. He gathered dried wood in the immediate area and struck a piece of flint against one of his daggers before coaxing the tentative embers into a small roaring fire.

Skyra's eyes strayed to Raven as he got the fire going, but always keeping her ears pinned to Hans and the bowcats. Finally she faced him with narrowed eyes. " What sort of group do you lead? I am not willing to join if yore kingship only extends over a horde of bandits."

"You do not know who these Cats are? You must be a madbeast. Anyway. Why bandits? The Cats always had the bows that outranged even the most biggest longbow. I could force Tribute from any creature with them alone. But i think the act of Trade is better. It makes allies and keeps riches and resources constantly comming. There is no need to rob peasents..." The fox looked a bit insulted by the vixen's horrible manners and disrespect. This savage might need to be even more civilized than the ferret!

"Hmmm...So you are not bandits." Skyra's gaze was no longer a glare as she retreated towards the fire. "But I'm afraid my path leads elsewhere. At present I can't join yore warriors." She sat down beside Raven and added wood to the fire, musing about what could be causing the white fox to look so disgusted. Was it something she said? She pushed it out of her mind and waited for Hans's reaction.

*The fox and his bowcats sat down next to the small fire. "It is a shame. But i am not a cruel beast. Whatever you must do. It must be very important. Anyway. Who is the ferret?" The cats were warming their paws and pulling their fur cloaks close to them. Although the winter chill did not effect the White Fox. The cats were well cold.

The ferret stared hard at the fox. My name's Raven. I can speak for myself, you know. I'm not some primitive savage like you keep treating me as. He growled in dislike of the fox as he sat next to his new friend Skyra.

The black vixen nodded slightly at Raven's statement, backing him up silently. She then reached back and rummaged in her pack, coming up empty."Botheration! I just resupplied three days ago! Where'd all my vittles go?" She turned to Raven and pointed at him."You have anything to do with this?", she said jokingly.

"There are supplies at my camp. If you are interested." The fox said when he noticed this. Heck. It had anything a beast would want at his camp. Not only food. But weapons, clothing, wines, and the such. Though wine supplies where low for now. But still they had other drinks.

Skyra had mentally accepted Hans, and was hoping that her ferret friend felt the same way. Food and water supplies were critical in winter; without either the season would surely take its toll on the both of them. "How about it, Raven? Shame we can't join, but stayin' at their camp awhile'd be a lot more comfortable than bein' out here in the middle of nowhere."

((Just so everyone knows; something will happen when the foxes, cats, and ferret go to Hans's camp. Something I've been thinking about for quiiiiiiite a while... Something to do with a horde...))

Garret had been wandering around for quite a while, unsure wether or not to head to Redwall. The winter in Mossflower was far more harsh then where he'd come from. Then he saw the fire. Garret stole silently up to the little camp, and then climbed a nearby tree just as silently. He wanted to hear what these beasts were talking about.

Raven nodded grudgingly in aceptance. He knew his friend wanted to go, and he was hungry himself so he may as well concede to go. He stood up and stretched the stiffness from his muscles as he waited for everyone to get ready.

Skyra smiled gratefully at her friend. Then she stood and slung the nearly empty pack over her shoulder. The black fox looked hard at the white fox and spoke:
"I thank you for lettin' us come so readily, even though we greeted you kind of harsh." It was then, when Skyra turned to Raven to speak to him, that she saw the shape in the trees. She didn't get a good look at it, but she could definitely make out a brushy tail, like that of a fox. "...S-so Raven, I'm ready when they are..." Skyra trailed off, staring intently at where the black, fox-like shape was.

So, she's spotted me. She's good. Most beasts would have been oblivious. Garret thought, as he dropped down from the tree. "How goes it? Don't be alarmed, I mean you absolutely no harm. That is, of course, unless you attack me first." The warrior said calmly, his paw on the leather grip of his massive sword.
