Callista was putting on a breastplate when she turned back to look. “Better.” When she had it on. She put on forearm armor and leg armor. She wanted to be well armored and armed for battle. She did not want her plots, plans and most importantly her life, felled by an enemy blade or arrow.

The crimson and black armor that Drask wore was lighter than Callista's. It was one of his identifying marks that made the enemy realize who they were dealing with. In all respects the army was ready to move, but they awaited orders. Drask smiled slightly, "Whenever you're ready, we can move out. My scouts reported an army smaller than mine, and not as well armed. We'll have these beasts defeated in no time at all."

Callista sneered. “Must be toads. They barely wear anything and most have only one or two different weapons in their entire groups. Dumb fools.” Callista never liked toads. They were ugly, stupid and had the most awful sounds of anything she ever heard. If there was one creature in the world she thought should be wiped off the face of the world. It would likely be a toad.

Drask shook his head, "Maybe so, but there are shrews mixed in with them. That's one kind of beast I could never get used to, always arguing and jabbering about absolutely nothing. Taking into consideration that shrews rely on lightning ambushes, they shouldn't be taken lightly." The ferret general knew it would be a tough fight, but numbers and skill would prevail over the enemy.

Callista seemed to not be the lest bit intimidated. “Toads or Shrews. They will cause problems in Hans’ conquest. They have to die or surrender. So I hope your troops are ready for not a battle with them. But to slaughter them.” If there are toads that will have to be killed. Than she wants them all dead quick before their disgusting croaks give her a headache.

"Patients. We will wipe them out. Nothing is stopping me from doing that now. Surrender is never an option for those so called goodbeasts. There's nothing good about them. I take it you wish to participate in the fight? If you do stay out of my way, alright? And don't try to give orders out there. But remember I don't want you to die out there, watch yourself. You're invaluable in this alliance." Drask inwardly slapped himself, he didn't realize what he just said meant. 'Not good', was the thought racing through his mind at that moment.

Callista had a smile on her face. “Give orders? To a bunch of soldiers who barely keep their spines straight? That’s a good one. When braver and more tougher beasts come about. They will be the ones taking my orders. So don’t worry about your troops taking orders from me.” She was not the type to take orders from others and even if she did take those orders. She always had to say something to smack the beast that gave her those orders down. Just to make it apparent that she was not going to be bossed around or treated like a grunt. She was royal Blood. He was not. And that’s her main reason why she will rarely take anyone’s orders…

Drask didn't smile however, "Huh, you'd be lucky to command half a crew of drunk corsairs. And it's not a matter of you leading my men, it's I don't want you in the way. And I give all orders here, no questions asked. When there's a battle going on everyone follows orders; unless they want to leave the battle missing a limb, or seriously beat up." He was growing angry now, "Same goes for you too, your highness. It's do or die when I'm in command. If you don't agree feel free to express your anger before the battle."

Back with Hans's army, Rithuan squinted as he peered past his master. To his surprise, he saw tiny shapes moving about on a scrubby tor just ahead of them. When he looked harder he could see them quite clearly: Pointed snouts, spiky fur, smaller than mice, bedecked with bandanas, and all carrying a short rapier. They were shrews! "Commander, the shrews are over there." He warned, attempting to sound calm,"Though those shrews are probably scouts."

Jasyn looked slighly over to the direction the seer pointed. "I see them. I'd rather send out scouts to dispatch of them, but shrews have a tendancy to repel any attacks. This is annoying, another piece of the puzzle left to fit." Then Jasyn spotted the army further up. "Look there, old one. Ther lies a possibility of help. If I can beat up only 1 of their commanders, I could manouver their forces to mine. Hopefully, they are more than enough to add numbers, and thus overcome those shrews over there. Do you agree, old one?"

Rithuan had not noticed the army poised to attack the shrews until the other fox had mentioned them. Now as he looked at the well-organized ranks of soldiers he understood another portion of his visions. His grip tightened on the glaive-haft. "Indeed this is good news, but it is my opinion that we will not need to wrest control away from their leaders. In my vision it was spoken to me that the Red-Armoured One has come for the purpose of annihilating our enemies."

Jasyn looked back over at the seer. "You mean that they will anhillate those beasties over there? Whithout us doing anything? Somehow, I think there's a catch. What's to stop those soldiers over there from taking out our pitiful army? Nothing, that's what." Jasyn twirled his scythe thoughtfully on the dusty road.

"It is a tall order to question fate, Commander. Mayhap it is safest to ally ourselves with that army, and attack when they do," Rithuan suggested, "But then I am only a seer--I see the visions, but that doesn't mean I understand them completely." The old fox looked again at the shrew scouts, who were aware of the fact they were now noticed and were retreating into the scrub on the hill ahead.

"I don't believe in fate, old one. Remember that." Jasyn stood up and put his scythe over his shoulders. "I shall try as you suggest, but I'm not willing to get this group anhilated untill I get my job over with. Once we get this territory set for Hans, I'm out of here." The mercenary strode over to the hill. "Take care of the army untill then, old one. I SHALL be back." With that, he approached Drask.

Drask noticed movement to his left, turning away from Callista he addressed the fox coldly, "You must have something to do with Hans Vermeer. I am General Drask Darkfang of Sampetra. And who do I have the pleasure of speaking with?" The ferret's words may have seemed polite, but it was only an outward front toward the fox. His smooth words and manners seemed out of place with vermin, only making him look more trusting than he actually was.
