As she walked side by side with Drask. Callista continued her conversation with Drask. “What if you had someone would could help you with all of that? You know? A friend? An Acquaintance? An ally? Or anything like that? Than would you try such a thing?”
Callista was interested. Her home was destroyed and her family more likely all dead. Her riches and troops gone. She was at the bottom of the Class Pyramid. A low-class peasant… But! If she could convince Drask to try to at lest think about wanting to rule all of wherever he came from. Maybe this would end up being her chance to get back on her paw feet. She might not end up as some fancy princess or something. But she was bound to hit the higher ranks if he took over. To reach up into the higher places of the “Pyramid.“ And if the only way she could make it back from dirty cloths to riches again was to make Drask want to take over the place he served as a general at. She would not care. Heck. He and whatever war buddies he might have could run around and play soldier for all she cared. She just wanted to be in a nice castle or palace surrounded by the finest foods, wines, robes and other expensive things. It was FAR better than this forest…

Drask responded after hesitation, "I never thought about that. Even if I managed to do such a thing I probably wouldn't live it down. And I don't have any friends at Sampetra. Several on Akkladia though. Captain Draygo Inglehorn, he's a free lance bounty hunter and corsair. I don't think he would rule. He enjoys the hunt to much to settle down and try ruling anything. I would like being over Sampetra, but it's loyalty I'm concerned about." The ferret general still didn't consider Callista a friend, ally, maybe an acquaintance, nothing more.

Callista replied “Loyalty? That is a thing to put in mind. None can rule successfully if one of your own beasts is willing to stab you in the back to take over what you rule over. But I’m sure you will find some loyal beasts who will help you. If such creatures like that bowcat Raker will help you. There is always another beast or two out there would will not only help you with what you need or want. But will be a loyal friend too.”
If she was going to become that “Loyal Friend“. She would have to change her attitude. Not too much to make him suspect anything. But enough to make him trust her at lest maybe a little. That would be bound to be the hardest part of her little plot. She had already given him a full dose of her normal “Take nothing from nobody” Personality before so she was going to have to act like that at times. Yet help him when he needed it the most and such. Also. Even if her plot worked. It would not be without it backfires or cons. First and most important of all being that if things went bad. She could not kill him. She was very likely to end up burned at the stake for it by angry soldiers if she did so…

Drask seemed to ponder over what she was saying, "Loyal friend? Yeah that might help. Even if my soldiers would follow me to hellgates if I commanded them to, I don't think any would meet loyal friend. If Draygo was enlisted, maybe. But that would never happen, either way you're right, more besides me would help rule. I couldn't carry the weight of Sampetra on my shoulders alone. Besides I'm not cut out for making friends in high places, I have them in low places, such as a few older tavern owners who would give me free ale of board at their place, but not much else."

Callista was not sure if she should risk it. But she did. “Well you are making a higher place friend right now. Two in a way. You helped me and teamed up with a cat. I bet that when you have contact with Hans. Raker will tell him how much of a great beast you are. You know what happens after that? You got a powerful ally on your side more likely. Someone to trade with and help you in your times of greater need. Like in war.” Callista looked over her shoulder and than back as she kept walking.

Drask raised an eyebrow, "Two? I can see a powerful alliance with Hans Vermeer. But you, what could you contribute to an alliance? As far as I can tell, making friends with Raker was very valuable, but I don't know about you." Drask continued walking, so her plot finally surfaced, she wanted something from him, but what it was he had absolutely no idea.

Callista smiled “Why not? I had lived in royalty. I am of royal breed and most of all. My Family had made a lot of allies. A lot of enemies to, so that means I know who is good for trade and which would try to kill you the second you have contact with them. Trust me. This place I may not know. But there is a whole new type of world in to the east. Not far like into the jungles. But far enough to see all kinds of kingdoms and civilizations. I also know of something else...” She stopped for a few moments and than spoke softly. “What my father was planning to do in the far Western new World…”
The Far West World…. The place were sailor beasts first came back from. Most wounded or dead. But some with insane savage raccoons and other horrifying creatures onboard and chained to their docks. A lot of beasts were too scared to go there. Mainly because of it’s inhabitants and it natives. The Savage Raccoons and the deadly wildlife. Because of this. It was only the Western Islands that were inhabited. But mainly by pirates and other sea vermin... Though they never dare go to the Far Western Land...

Drask nodded, "I can see where you would be of help if I decided to take over anything. Going to the East wouldn't be that bad. I might actually enjoy it. The Far West? I've heard of that place once. The sailor who told me killed himself the next day. I don't see that place as an obstacle, it's an advantage. New resources to use. More land for castles and fortresses. Timber to build fleets. Anything I need would be there. All I need is an beachhead force and a strong standing navy to start with. But all this would take a long time. And I doubt I would be the one to do it. Even with you and Han's helping me."

Callista shook her head.
“No no. That’s not what I mean. My father did not plan to try to take over parts of the New Land. That would be far too dangerous. No beast has managed to take even an inch of land from that horrible jungle. Let alone even wanted too. You see? My father had tried to see what was said about the place was true. So he sent two large ships full of explorers. Not soldiers. Explorers, to find out. But only one of the ships came back and it was quite damaged. And before they were all killed along with my family. They had told him of riches that the Raccoon Savages have. Huge amounts of it. My father had a different plan in mind than. Too bring his military into the lands to take those riches. But he never had a change went a massive horde of beasts managed to defeat and kill almost all of us. Well… I still expected two of my brothers survived the attack. But I’m not sure. I bet those beasts had already killed them too.”
She looked at the ground. The Idea her father must have planned was to get in the jungled lands, Cause quick war raidings on the Raccoon Savages, Take as much as they could and then get the hell out!

"It would take thousands of beasts to conquer that place, and most wouldn't live long. If what they say is true. I still don't take myself a ruler. I can put in a good word for you at Sampetra, maybe you could help Moll. If you were talking with me brother, he would go gallivanting off with you to conquer these Eastern Lands. And he might even pull it off." Drask knew his brother well enough to know he would without hesitation attempt conquest of any place. Even places like Redwall. Vrelt had a lot of pride in himself, unlike Drask who wasn't as ambitious. "I'm sorry about your family. I know what it's like."

Callista's temper was starting to flare. But she didn’t show it. What kind of IDIOT is he!? WHY would he NOT want to rule at lest SOMETHING!? ANYTHING!? Her plot was starting to fall into pieces because of this ferret’s now apparent inferiority and stupidity. But she was quick to think up another plot. A plot to have this “Moll” beast have an “Accident.” Drask would be too stupid to rule in her place. But she herself certainly would be ambitious and smart enough to rule! All she has to do is number one. Have this inferior idiot lead her straight to this “Moll” person and than second. Catch this beast while he or she was alone. Either poison her or throw her out a window or something.
Callista suddenly pointed. “Hey is that one of your troops?” It was...

Drask was inwardly smiling, 'Callista thinks I'm not ambitious. Score one for the boys back home.' He thought to himself. Drask was a lot more cunning than Callista assumed. A lot more. Of course he would love to rule Sampetra. Which vermin general in their right mind wouldn't? Drask had kept up the ruse for long enough, "You underestimate me Callista."He silently murmured. Drask spotted a movement is front of them, "That is one of them." The ferret general strode through the foliage. The fox nearly jumped backwards. "General Drask? I thought you were dead!" Drask smiled, "Do I look dead? Take us back to base, Sergeant."

Callista was mainly silent as the ferret and fox chatted away with their ridiculous minds and mouths. She was too busy thinking anyway. She had calmed herself down and started to clear her mind. A beast like this one not wanting to be a ruler? Is that even possible? If she knew one thing. It was that almost all pure ferrets were power hungry and always wanted to be at the top. But of course. They had to be cunning and clever to do so. She was starting to realize it. No! It was NOT possible for a pure ferret to NOT be such. Even those who were not completely “pure”. This ferret was playing her at her own game and he is more than likely a few steps ahead of her. She might just have to do away with him. Along with that “Moll” Creature. But if she was to do so. She was going to have to quit her over reacting and bad behavior. Otherwise she’ll be too hotheaded to think correctly or straight. If she became more calmer and simply come up with new ideas and twists. She might just get the upper paw...

The fox smiled broadly at Drask, "Aye, sir. You'll be happy to know we lost less than a score of men, and routed those ambushing scum back to who knows where." Drask turned to Callista, "I told you my troops were the best. Lead the way, Sergeant." Drask was right. The scorpion assault succeeded as planned. Maybe even better. The fox lead them to a large clearing where dozens of tents were set up, along with several heavy siege weapons, past the clearing was the coast, where more of Drask's army was waiting, along several corsair ships. The ferret smiled with pride at the army they were formed to position in front of Drask and Callista.

Callista was not impressed. Having been in kingdoms and seeing all kinds of different armies. She was a slight critic. This army was ok. But she had seen better. A lot better. “ So Drask. What are you going to do? Are we going to be involved with the battles at the Great South Stream? Like Raker had talked about? Are we going to help them take that territory?” The Pure Ferret wondered. She was fine if he wanted to sail straight home or maybe to a different place. But she was quite interested in what Hans was trying to do. Whatever he chossed. As logn as it was AWAY from here!
