Deep in the woodland forest. A creature was making a run for her life. A creature that was one of the survivors of a large battle. She had been a "Amazing Strategist" until the aftermath of this battle. Her lord dead along with what might be the entire army. She was a creature that was not running to save her own fur and flesh from death that was in the form of Long Patrol hares. But unfortunately for her. She was also a Albino Fox...... And she stuck out like a oversized sore thumb and she knew it. Even her dark gray tunic and Pine Green Cloak could not completely hide her in these woods. If she was to escape capture and death. She would either have to make it back up to the Far North Lands, or find a vermin group to join in with for protection.
When she finally ran as far as she could without falling over and dieing from exhaustion. Rabisat started to slow down to a walk while holding her right side with her left paw and dragging her bloody sickle sword on the ground in the other paw. She was not suffering any severe wounds. But from a distance it did look like she was badly wounded.
She was wondering how the other survivors where. But more importantly. Which ones of those who had died in combat got to go to Dark Forest or Hell Gates or which ones will wonder the forests as spirits without rest and peace. Spirits that will find not rest and will become angry and never find peace. Being Sensitive to the presence of spirits. She could not help but to wonder on such things.....

A short distance away from the area Rabisat was trudging through, Virek Darkfang slowly made his way across Mossflower Wood. Like the arctic fox, Virek had survived a battle, but one that was much smaller, fought between a small force from Riftguard and a large group of the primitive Flitchaye tribe. Seemingly an easy victory for the better equipped and trained squad of beasts from Riftguard, but Virek forgot one key advantage the Flitchaye had, and that was knowing the surrounding land, giving them the second advantage of an ambush. During that short and bloody battle both the force from Riftguard and a large part of the Flitchaye tribe were killed. Virek was the only survivor from the Riftguard side of the battle. The young ferret was leading that group in order to prove he was a skilled commander, so far though he was failing, he knew that Vrelt wouldn't be pleased when he learned of the collapse of Virek's squad and of their defeat.
Virek was still armed with his bow and his dagger, along with a short sword he picked up from a dead soldier, which he wasn't particularly skilled at using. Surprisingly he had made it through the night without any further entanglements from the Flitchaye. He made his way through Mossflower, unaware that he was moving parallel with Rabisat, in fact, he was clueless as to where he was going at all. Virek kept moving, hoping to find the river so he could follow it back to sea and return to Riftguard, but it wasn't going to be that simple. Virek realized some other beast must be near by, guessing from the sound of something dragging the ground. The young ferret was afraid to start with, soon he got over his temporary fear and decided to show his face to this unknown beast. He stepped out from the tree he was hiding behind and rested his paw on the short sword he had stuck through his belt, and with the most courageous look he could muster, Virek addressed the stranger. "What are you doing out here?" Virek tried to make his voice sound gruff in he face of this potential enemy, he wasn't sure what to make of the arctic fox that he confronted.

Rabisat turned to face the beast or spirit that has questioned her. She didn't know which one it was but she was quick to turn to the sound. "Why do you wonder spirit? Do you need rest-......... Hey... Your not a spirit. What right do you have with interrogating me in that tone of voice!" She lifted her bloody sickle sword up and pointed it at him. It was true that she was an arctic fox. But now Virek could see she was strangely albino. Her fur had stayed white even at this season and her eyes were red. Albinos had either red or pink eyes. Other than her sword. She had a long dagger and a few daggers she managed to make off with along with a battle axe and a bow with a few arrows.

Virek swallowed hard, he wasn't prepared for a fight against Rabisat, she wasn't the wounded looking beast he guessed she was. What the ferret lacked in skill in battle he made it up in intelligence and of course a smooth even way of speaking that could strike fear into the hearts of most enemies or inspire soldiers to fight harder in a battle. He was skilled with his bow at long range, unfortunately that wouldn't help him much in his present situation.
Virek decided to try and talk his way out of this one, that seemed to be the less life-threatening course to take. "I have no right to interrogate you at all. I was just asking a question." If it boiled down to a fight, Virek knew he probably wouldn't make it out.

Rabisat had her ears back and her teeth bared with red eyes glaring. Looking like a demon. But in a matter of seconds, she relaxed and lowered her sword down a little.
" Who am i kidding, Better a vermin questioning me than a Long Patrol Hare or a Woodlander. I'm trying to get as far away from the battle a horde i was in and Long Patrol had fought out as i can. Seeing me now. You know who won. I'm making a run for the far North...... If i'm even going North in this forest!"
She looks to the sides and than quickly behind her as if to guess which direction she should go, than faces Virek again. "Who are you anyway? Your the only living thing i had seen other than a few insects. I had seen a few........ Not living things too....."

Virek had to admit that Rabisat's appearance was frightening, adding to her already tough looking image. The young ferret considered how much he should tell this arctic fox, eventually coming to the decision to speak a bit more.
"I'm trying to head in that general direction, except toward the coast. Though I have not the slightest clue as to where I'm going. Uh, I'm Virek Darkfang." That name was well known, more so in the north than most places, considering the reputation Vrelt had built up in that area. "You're the only alive thing I've seen in a while, every other beast I've seen was dead." He wasn't planning on revealing why he was is Mossflower in the first place.

Rabisat had pulled out a canteen and took a drink from it as Virek talked. In the Land of Ice and Snow. It would be rare to hear titles like Darkfang. Most of the time you only heard the titles of arctic foxes, or wolverines or the likes of wolves and other far northern beasts. But not a ferret. Unless you happen to hear it from a stranger that had came to the Land of Ice and Snow. Which was almost just a rare.
"I'm Rabisat. The one who can see both the living and the dead. I can see things you can never see in your entire life. The one who's fur is always white and who's eyes are red as Hellfires. Anyway. If you are heading in the same direction I’m trying to go. Maybe we should travel together. If we don't, i fear Long Patrol will both make us spirits...."

Virek didn't know what to make of the other beast's strange talk. He had heard of seers and others that could see or hear things that most couldn't, he believed it was all a bunch of clever lies spun together. Rabisat seemed confident in her words, and though he had no dealings with the Long Patrol he assumed the arctic fox was speaking the truth. "I suppose that would work out well, if we knew where to go. I'll come with you then."
OOC:Horrible shortness. lol

"We walk side by side. No one stays behind and no one stays ahead of the other. I have ran for too long just to have a blade slide into my back and force my spirit out to Hell or Dark Forest...."
She did not trust him completely. Vermin or not. The fact he was young also gave her the right to be paranoid. Younger vermin often do their murders without even thinking much about what might happen later on and sometimes they do it for no reason at all other than to make them feel like they were high and mighty...

Virek nodded in response, he didn't want Rabisat walking behind him either, he didn't trust her, especially since she was a arctic fox, and particularly clever so far. He was much smarter than he was given credit for, and he wanted to keep it that way, so that if she planned some kind of betrayal he would be ready. The young ferret relied more on his mind than anything else, it was his greatest weapon, and very deadly if he used it right.
At first he was going to gesture for Rabisat to start walking before him, instead he made that move. Virek moved hesitantly forward, going slow enough for the arctic fox to move along side him before they started on the march.

As soon as Virek started to move. So did she and soon, they were both marching side by side at the same rate of speed. Rabisat was a little surprised that they have not encountered any woodlanders… Or Redwallers….. Or Long Patrol. This might mean that the neck of the woods they were in might be very dangerous., but strangely she has not sense any spirits at all as she walked along with this ferret that has been the only company she has had since her position in the horde that has been killed off in a battle with Long Patrol.
. “Strange……” She muttered to herself.”

Rizhacka crouched in the brush just ahead, spears at the ready. His teeth were shown in a devilish grin that reached out in an eye gling. "Oh, goody. Vermin. Fresh blood for my spears." he was low, and both spears were on the ground to each side. He curled his fingers over the shafts and prepared to skewer both vermin. "Almost, almost...TASTE STEEL SCUM!" and pounced. One tip of each spear pointed at one of their throats.

Rabisat could sense spirits, but not living things unless she used her senses and in this case. She didn’t, but she was quick to lower herself, spin around, strike the spear aimed at her neck with her sickle sword and jump back a few feet. She pulled her ears back, bared her fangs and teeth, glare at her otter foe with her red eyes and let out a threatening deep growl from her throat. She pointed her sword at the otter. “Scum!? SCUM!? I’ll show you scum! When I kill you for your unprovoked attack on me. I’ll see where your spirit heads! To Dark Forest or HELL!”
She did not care what happened to Virek. She only cared for her own survival. Besides, if Virek had such a powerful title like “Darkfang.” Than he should be able to fight and take care of himself or die. But judging her supernatural sense. She knew the otter had not killed him either……. Yet.

Virek made a move just as fast as Rabisat's, minus some of her style. He drew his short sword and swung wide hitting the spear away from his throat and he quickly stepped back a few feet as well. Unlike the arctic fox, Virek kept a calm expression throughout the attack, that casual way that Darkfangs took 'care' of their enemies was well known; either with a wicked smile on their face or a cold look like the ferret was displaying. "Why are you attacking us peaceful travelers without any provocation? Isn't that a bit unwoodlander like?" His icy blue eyes narrowed at the otter as he calmly stood there, the short sword still in his grasp.

The short, savage appearing otter snarled at the two. He, with tattoos and scars and filed teeth, looked no different from the Flitcheye, but there was a degree of intelligence hiding behind the rage filling his eyes. "Both of you are vermin. It is my duty to stamp all of you out!" Rizhacka seemed nonplussed with the parry of his weapons, he merely held them behind his back. "Come and take me to the Dark Gates if you can filth!" He crouched low, prepared.
