The wind howled. The snow flew The fire flickered and faded before coming back to life. Numerous vermin gathered around the fire's edge warming themselves against the winter chill. However, their leader, a fox, stayed inside his tent. He hated fire. Cursed it. Avoided it. Had nightmares of it. For Fire, on the 28th of September, took away a most valuable item in his possession. A ship. Ever since that day, ten, no eleven years ago, he had been searching for the beast that had burned it to the watery depths.
A squirrel.
A squirrel called Silas M. Hawkeye.
For this reason, he hated squirrels as much as fire, both reminders of his loss. Now the fox captain could no longer sail the seas, could no longer collect vast amounts of plunder or any of that. He was now reduced to scrounging about the forest for anything... During this time he nearly forgot his own name, plowing through the trees in search of that squirrel. His name was Zalutar 'Bloodclaw'. And with the allegiance of the Marlfox, Shade, he will have vengance. Even now, he prepared to attack, to finally achieve victory. It was only a matter of time now...
Meanwhile, near their general location, another fox was on his guard, watching the vermin about the fire, trying to count their numbers. He was not an evilbeast like them, despite his species. Having that number in his head, he retreated back towards a far smaller camp, one with no fire and minimal amenities, even compared to the sparse campsite of vermin to the southeast. He didn't want to draw any attention to himself. Walking back into camp, he sat down wordlessly on a dry patch of ground under a pine tree and sighed. His injuries from the fight with the red-eyed ferret were all healed by now, and as such he clearly had more stamina because of it. Even though this was true, he spent sleepless nights looking over his shoulder to make sure no one had spotted him.
((So the otters could be with him, GWS... Just my idea.))
