Mari winced at the memory of the ferret's unfortunate fate, but she nodded anyway. We did meet up with a ferret a good few days ago. He had weird red eyes.

"Really?" Silas became interested. he was asking about the ferret they had just met, the one with brown eyes, but this was even better. "Was he carrying-"
"...This?"
Ghost held up the tailring for Silas' examination. The squirrel stepped forward and peered at the thing, in surprise and joy. The fox handed it over to him, and the warrior read the inscription to make sure. he first looked at Ghost, with his numerous cuts and scrapes, to Mari, asking, "How... how did you..."

Mari tilted her head in curiousity. She didn't understand what the astonished squirrel was asking. How did we what, Silas?

OOC; Just checkin'.
"How did you get this?" He asked, feeling the familiar weight, the smooth, cold texture of gold upon his paw. He never thought he would see the tailring ever again. Ghost, his throat still being choked somewhat, looked to Mari for explanation, as did Silas.

Mari scratched the back of her neck and shrugged slightly. The ferret we found had it with him so we took it from him. We'd figured it was stolen from someone and we were going to give it back to whoever it belongs to.

Silas paused for a second, looking down at the inscription. "Takemeruu..." He murmured.
"Eh?" Ghost swiveled his ears in the squirrel's direction.
"Takemeruu." He repeated, louder. "It's a saying." "...You know what it means?" Ghost inquired, suspicious yet curious, his voice retaining a layer of sadness to it. "It means, 'Take care, love.' "The squirrel admitted sheepishly. "In the old language my parents tried to teach me along with the common one. As far as I know, this is my tailring."

Mari nodded in understanding and stared up at the sky thoughtfully for a moment. Well if it's yours, then you're obviously more than welcome to keep it, Friend.

"Thanks." Silas replied, fitting the object back in its rightful place on his tail of bushy fur. Another few moments of silence pass. "So, where are you headed?" Silas asks, curious as to where they were going, a fox and an otter travelling together seemed unlikely.
Meanwhile, on the path a ways away, the small group consisting of two lupine creatures, one vulpine, and one hare would notice that the ferret and the rat had disappeared from sight. They were confronting a camp of vermin not too far away. A scout reported back, seeing Mari's friends in a group around the fire. They were to raid them for supplies today, possibly take a few prisoners. They were in desperate need of both, since the horde has lived off of the woods for the past four months. The ferret entered a tent, bowing respectfully as he did so.
"Welcome, Ringtail." The beast sitting at the other end of the tent grinned. "Make your report."

Mari bowed politely in reply. You're welcome, Silas. Back at camp, meanwhile, Tarian had seen the vermin scouts and was telling the others so they could prepare for the trouble that was inevitably to come.

OOC: I believe Silas asked a question as to your destination with Mari and the rest in my last post.
"Captain, there are two wolves and a fox on the path nearby. The fox has Bloodwrath." "Another fox, aye?" The captain, a vulpine as well, stroked his chin in thought, his tail flicking back and forth at the excitement this new challenge brought. "Take ten beasts and meet them. Poison your weapons." He ordered. "The rest are to attack the otters."
"Uh, Captain?" The ferret lifted his head.
"Yes, Ringtail?"
"There's also a squirrel here..."
"What?!" The fox leapt up and grabbed the ferret by the neck so swiftly a beast would miss the action if they blinked. "What squirrel? What does he look like? Tell me!" He was furious at his lieutenant. Why would he leave that information out until now?
The fox hated, despised squirrels. Instead of the wolves or the fox, they were a whole new variable entirely. Able to climb trees and fight in the most unexpected places, they were devastating combatants if in a group. The ferret choked, but managed to reply, "It's him, sir..." "Are you sure?!" The fox growled, gripping the ferret's throat tighter. "Yes! Yes!" Ringtail replied. The fox let go of his lieutenant with a sigh of frustration. "Get everyone ready," He said, his voice changing to one of determined lethality, "We move. Now."

Mari thought for a moment before deciding that telling the squirrel where they were bound couldn't hurt any. Well, now that Ghost's wounds are healed and my friends found me, we're headed down to the coast. Rio suddenly ran over to them panicedly. Vermin've spotted us, Ghost. They're comin' fer us soon.

Ghost grew serious, trying to look his best as he adressed Rio. "Which way did they come from?" He asked.
Silas looked at the new arrival with concern. "Vermin?" Ghost nodded. "Heard there was a horde about here." "...Hold on. I'll need to tell Alarrin and Selesa." He paused before jumping off again. "Uh, they're my travelling partners." He explained. A silent 'Oh.' was evident from Ghost as the squirrel hopped off to inform the lupine creatures of the imminent attack.

Rio placed his hands on his knees as he fought to regain his breath. I'm not sure where they came from, but I knw they was vermin fer sure. A ferret and a rat, I think they was. They looked like they was near the path when they ran off. They don't know we saw 'em.

Silas stopped, perched upon a low branch. "A ferret and a rat? We saw them a few minutes ago... Thought they were travellers." He said, the reality setting in. That's why the ferret felt familiar. He was. A name entered the squirrel's mind, putting the ferret's name at Ringtail.
