The warrior smiled, entering into his room fully, closing the door behind him. Unbuckling the sword from his belt, he set it aside next to his bed in a far corner of the squished room, opposite from a desk and a reading chair, the former holding up various novels obtained from the Abbey library, while the latter held his backpack. Stretching out, he climbed into bed, feeling the cold sheets against his fur. Putting both paws behind his head, he gazed up at the ceiling. And as he did, he let his thoughts wander, not that they required any permission to do so. He sighed, still feeling her lips on his. And with that, he slowly drifted off to the dark embrace of sleep, one that seemed welcoming yesterday did not seem so favorable today.

It took Tamar longer to fall asleep. When she finally did it seemed only a moment before she woke up to the sun streaming in from the room's one window. Saol's bed was already neatly made. Tamar had been having a wonderful dream. She yawned and stretched and then noticed that the sun was awfully high in the sky. "Corks!" Silas was going to meet her for breakfast and here she was having a lie in. She jumped up and dressed quickly. As she tied her apron around her waist, she felt the weight of the knife in her pocket bump against her leg. She was going to have her first lesson today. Leaving her own bed unmade she ran out the door and down the stairs to Cavern Hole and cast her gaze around for Silas. A few beasts were still finishing their morning meal but most had already finished and had gone on to their duties.

Silas, already having made announcements and instructions for the training of the abbey defenders, was finishing up his meal, wondering silently where Tamar had gotten to. In his announcement he had informed everybeast to meet outside on the steps to the main building, and that they would be divided into four groups to begin a 'sampler' day, in which each group would rotate from station to station to see which weapons they preferred. Taking the last few bites of a scone, he reached for his drink when he noticed Tamar rushing down the stairs. He waved to catch her attention, feeling sympathetic for the squirrelmaid. He himself would've slept in until noon after staying up last night, but was rudely roused by Tom, who seemed to be in some sort of fistfight with the squirrel's bedroom door.

Tamar's face lit up when she saw Silas's wave. She didn't think that any other beast might be watching she just ran towards him and slid in on the bench beside him. "Hello," she said breathlessly. "Did you sleep well? Saol didn't wake me when she got up."

"Ah." Silas said in understanding. "Yeah, I had a good sleep." He adds, remembering his dream with fondness. "I suppose you'll like some breakfast?" He suggested, glancing over to the buffet table, which was at the moment mostly empty.

"Yeah," Tamar looked over at the buffet table and then back at Silas. She had actually been so excited about seeing him she had forgotten that breakfast involved eating food. "I'll just go . . ." She got up from the table reluctant at having to leave his side again so soon. "I'll be right back." There wasn't a lot to choose from but she picked half a cold pasty and the last remaining plain scone and some warm berry juice. Then she hurried back to the table. "Did you get everything organized for the training today?" She asked him forgetting her food as soon as she started staring at him again.

Silas set his drink down after taking a sip from it. Looking back at the squirrelmaid, he nodded. "We're all ready to go." He informed her, gazing into her eyes once again, the eyes that belonged to, literally, the squirrelmaid of his dreams. After blinking once, he found his tongue again. "When you're finished, we'll head out to start it off." Having said that, Silas realized that he said 'we' in pure reflex.

"Finished, yes," It took her a minute to remember what she had to be finished with she looked down at her plate and then smiled back up at him sheepishly. She started to eat only glancing down at her plate when absolutely necessary so she could feast her eyes on something altogether more pleasant. She didn't even taste the food going down, which was probably a good thing since it was cold and rather bland and on any other day she would have been complaining about it all morning. But what was there to complain about when a creature was in love like Tamar was.

Silas patiently waited for Tamar to finish eating her food, he himself sitting calmly, sipping his drink. He eyed Tamar with equal favoritism, only looking around if he had to set his glass down or something of the sort. Without many beasts in Cavern Hole, it seemed quiet. But the warrior didn't notice anyway, not even when Tom came rushing down the stairs.

Since Tamar wasn't looking at her plate it took the grating sound of her fork scraping against it for her to realize that there was nothing left to pick up. "I guess I'm finished," she smiled a little sheepishly and glanced down a second so she could pick up her beaker of juice to wash it down.

"Alright, then..." Silas replied with a grin after another second's pause. He set his glass on the table, after having drained it of water. Checking his weapons under his cloak, the squirrel got up to leave. With Tamar, of course. He held out a paw towards her. "May I, miss?" He asked, meaning to accompany her outside to the center of the grounds.

"Yes, sir, if you please?" Tamar smiled playing her part. She took his proffered paw and once again felt the electric shock of physical contact with him. Rising from her seat she said, "I'll just find a seat out of the way so you can do what you need to do and then when you're finished. . . I brought my knife. You can teach me a thing or too. That is unless you think it would be good for me to learn some of the other skills. I could try my paw at archery or slinging as well. If you think I should."

Silas nodded at the mention of the knife, then replied, "Well, it all depends if you think you're ready to give it a try." He explained, meaning the four stations outside, the door which led to themin sight. He forced himself to step forward a pace and get everything organized before sundown, because he was sure he was going to stand there all day if he didn't. "I think you'd take a liking to archery, though." He added to his last comment, discreetly eyeing the squirrelmaid up and down.

Tamar was actually excited at the prospect of joining one of the learning stations. Not only because it would give her something to do while waiting for her personal lesson with Silas but also because it was another chilly day and just sitting and watching would have been very cold and boring. "Alright, I'll try it if you think I should." She looked around and was very impressed to see the work that had already been done under his supervision. She saw where the archery station was and nodded. Then she reluctantly let go of his paw and walked in that direction, turning back once on her walk across the lawn to wave at him.

Silas waved in reply, then stepped towards the group awkwardly shuffling about, designated group two. He himself would take partial leadership over the archery and paw-to-paw areas, which were fairly close. he cleared his throat, taking in a breath of the brisk, clean air. "Group two! Stand ready!" he yelled out.
The major assemblage stood straight as ash trees upon the command, all looking towards the squirrel. "May I be the first to welcome you all to Archery and paw-to-paw combat." He strode about, eyeing each beast as if they actually were in the military. Most looked capable, he thought. "You have chosen these stations for a reason, my fellow beasts. That reason, is to defend this Abbey in your own way, whether with ranged combat or close-quarters fighting. I ask you to consider this as you are taught." He adressed them, but then his expression softened a little after a second or two. "You may go." He said, hoping thatt he wasn't too harsh. Well, he wasn't as stern as Kyle over in the quarterstaff area. Nodding to the hedgehog directing Paw-to-paw, he stepped over to archery, where half of the group gathered. He noticed that he would have to walk about from station to station, as the mentors were few and far between. it was sure to be a busy morning. He stood next to Tamar. "Was I too rough?" He hasked, again half-jokingly and half-serious.
