So, for no apparent reason, I'm re-reading the whole series all over again. I'm reading Redwall right now, and I just realised that there is a un-named Beaver mentioned multiple times......why are there no other beavers in the other books?

I think they were supposed to be a rare species that went extinct... or ol' Brian Jacques just FORGOT...(he forgets a great deal between books...)

Lol, so he does. That beaver bugs me a lot......the part that bugs me most is that it has no name and is only referred to as "The Solitary Beaver".....

Let me guess....Redwall? the beaver that helps Constance set up her giant bow to shoot Cheesethief?
Maybe Brian just doesn't like beavers too much.

There are a lot of things in Redwall that don't appear or happen throughout the rest of the story. Take for instance the horses the pull the cart that Cluny rides to Redwall, horses are not mentioned again. Redwall is kind of by itself in the series(which what makes it one of the best in the series to me) so the beaver was just one of those unique things.

We should be able to play as beavers... and chipmunks.

I know beavers used to be a playable creature, but they were limited. And no to chimpmunks, besides not being in the Redwall series I belive there are no chipmunks on the British Isles.

Yea! but to make it more realistic, it could be from the ferret kingdom or something and the slaves revolt and free themselves, causing America (or whatever you can think of)

Just to clear this up.
I think the reason that there is only that 1 beaver in the redwall books is because they are so rare in the british isles. You dont see them much. Could explain it. As for why it has no name i guess that would be simply because it was only mentioned briefly and many chracters are not given names they are just mentioned by species or rank if in a army.
Anyways that is what i think. Could be wrong only Brian Jacques can say for sure.
