"Outcast" and "Pearls" were both very good. I haven't read a book I haven't liked, but my favs are Redwall, Mossflower, Salamandastron, Lord Brocktree, and The Long Patrol. and I'll update the rest when I read the whole series.

Brian should have expanded on Swartt more. He was a really awesome character.

Hey vrelt, I've been wondering about this for a while. Do you like Swartt by any chance?

That was a rather stupid question. Of course! That's why I have that picture of Swartt! lolz

Like Klitch and his dad, and Swartt, Bluefen and Veil. I've always been a fan of the vermin, mainly ferrets, weasels, stoats, and foxes. Out of all the good guys, I like the otters. And moles are cool too. They have that awesome accent.....

Daniel, have you read Mariel and/or the Bellmaker?

yep. those were good. Liked the Bellmaker better myself. Finnbar Galedeep was simply an incredible character. I liked how the Urgan Nagru had a mate, too. It added more depth to the bad guys than usual.

So what do you think about Mariel and Dandin? I actually wrote a college level paper on my views. What do you think was going on between them.

If you ask me, they seemed more like just friends. Almost a brother and sister relationship.

Hey it's still up there. My essay is in the Tallents board. It's titled (believe it or not) Mariel and Dandin.

They were great characters. Now this is a real Redwall topic! Well, considering that Mariel once yelled out, "My Dandin!" I think that they definately were more than friends. That's not to say too much, because Redwall is based on morality. I think it was a relationship that would bloom into something more. I mean, you see the kind of care they instill in each other, and at the same time, they aren't afraid to banter with one another. Dandin kind of appeared out of nowhere at the beginning, and he was nowhere mentioned in Mariel of Redwall. I think the two of them shared at least a very special bond. At very least.

Read my essay. I think Dandin ended up marring somebody else with Mariel's blessing. I think he had more of a capacity for romantic love than she did. just look at Treerose. Grant it she was a squirrel but he was mad for her.

I read her essay a while ago. There is a large amount of logic to it.
