Gingerly Rithuan picked his way through the high brush, beckoning the others to do so. With great care he approached the wolf, before realizing that the strangebeast was unconsious. Staring oddly at Moonlight, the seer called the followers forward. "It is a wolf: The one who follows the moon. Quick now, take him back to the camp and get him a healer." The vermin obeyed, the grey fox hoisting up the wolf's shoulders and the two rats each supporting a leg.

Moonlight came to after a little while of being carried by the others. Immediately, He started struggling. Dropping to the floor, he got up and started running Northeast, towards the Abbey. In his exhausted form could go no further. He succumbed to the inevitable and waited for the vermin to kill him.

The grey fox, being younger and fleeter of foot than the ancient seer, reached the crumpled form of the wolf first. Wisely he circled the wolf with his long dagger drawn, searching for weapons and any suspicious movements. The two rats, a bystanding weasel, and Rithuan joined the fox and made a ring around him. Staying a few paces away from the wounded creature, Rithuan knelt in view of the wolf and tried to reassure him. "Be still, wolf. We mean you no harm, and you are in no condition to fight.", he motioned to the others, who moved closer and took out lengths of cord in case the wolf got unruly, "Please allow our healers to treat your wounds. I give you my oath as a fox that you will not be harmed."

Moonlight spat at the fox's feet. "Huh, a fox's promise. That doesn't amoung to a spit in a river. I'd fight you, but my weapons were taken away by the Bowcats about a hundred yards that way. Where are the rest of them? Aren't you a part of them too?" he snarled, trying to get enough energy to stand up and run.

The old fox's eyes glittered as he absorbed this new informmation. Bowcats--that was who the Lethal Ones were. If there were bowcats here, then the White One was sure to be nearby as well. The seer shook his head slowly. "Before now we did not know of the bowcats. We are Juskarang." He tried to edge closer, "And trust me: though the word of any fox may well be worthless to you, remember that I am not just any fox--I am Rithuan Farsight, Ancient Seer of the Juskarang."

Moonlight rolled his eyes. "Great. A Seer. Hallelujah. And Juska to boot." Moonlight was having trouble concentrating and was slurring his speech. His vision was growing dark again, and he fell sideways and hit the ground.
((Oh, by the way, Cole, a claymore is not a two handed weapon. If you have it, look at the pictures at the top of each chapter in Rakkety Tam. In one of them, you'll see Tam with only one paw in a hilt that can only fit one paw.))

The old fox sighed heavily. Standing up he ordered his Juska with a wheezy groan: "Pick him up and take him back to the healer's tent. And Gullask," he looked oddly at the grey fox, "make sure he's tied tight this time. And don't let him wake up again." Obligingly Gullask and the other tribebeasts hoisted up the knocked out wolf at carefully trotted him back into the camp. Superstitious Juska scrambled out of the way and did not let their eyes meet with the limp wolf at all costs. Very cautiously the rats and Gullask laid Moonlight on a broad stone table outside the healer's tent. Quickly they tied cords onto each of the wolf's paws and tied them together under the table. As the healers rushed out Rithuan turned on his heels. He felt he was needed at his master's side, searching for the army of the White One.

Hans and his bowcats were already starting to pack up and leave. Mainly because Hans was too paranoid to stay here and find out if the wolf would come back with a horde of insane beasts or not come back at all. One of the bowcats aimed upward at the sky and fired a special made arrow known as a “Arrow Whistle.” Which made a loud sound as it flew through the sky, which alerted scouting cats of their packing and leaving. Any cat who heard it was more likely rushing to get back to the camp. ____________________________________________________
Yoatl Rang was searching in the woods when he heard the sound. Interested in what it was. He and some of this warriors went off to look. Yoatl was hitting top speed and he shot through the forest to the source of were the sound begain. Maybe it was them! Maybe it was The White one!

Well past his prime, Rithuan ran slowly in the direction Yoatl had taken. At intervals he would come across Juska warriors, whom he wildly questioned about the whereabouts of his master: "Hakkla! Have you seen the Cheif anywhere???" "Er... I saw 'im run off that way over yonder--"The ferret answered, but the seer had already taken off. Nearby an arrow thudded deep into the soil and bracken of the forest floor. It's fletchings were pointed straight up to the sky, so it was unlikely to be fired intentionally at him. "Let that be a sign..." He whispered hoarsely to himself, and continued tracking the golden fox.

Moonlight twitched as the arrows were removed from his body. The memory of being caught by vermin brought him into full wakefullness. He opened his eyes. Realizing he had ropes around him again, he thought 'Oh great. I can't even cut them this time.' Realizing that he had nothing to do but let himself get treated, he started a conversation with the healers. "What's all this about then?"

There were three healers working on him, and every one of them was an older ferret female. The one Moonlight had spoken to soaked a cloth in some green herbal bath, and then dabbed it on one of the wolf's wounds. She spoke dryly and with a hint of sarcasm: "Hmph! 'All this' is about keeping these holes in yore hide frum gittin' iffected--But forgive me, I jist cain't abide by poor liddle foolbeasts who git cut up then run about in the dirty woods!" Haughtily she continued applying herbs to his wounds and bandaging them. The other healers tried not to get in her way, understandably... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Rithuan spyed his master ahead and put on an extra burst of speed. Within a spear-length of Yoatl he came to a shaky halt and rasped out new information: "Master, we have an injured wolf in the healer's tent. I spoke to him and found that there is an army of bowcats coming through--I think these are the Lethal Ones." The old seer waited behind his master and tried to catch his breath.

Moonlight snarled savagely. "Well next time, I won't let those bastards hit me. I'll dodge all fifty arrows and chuck them back at their faces." He regarded the ferret in utter contempt.

The ferret healer wrinkled her nose and returned the favor: "Oho, so now you think you're SO tough an' brave an' fast, eh?" The other healers cringed and whispered rushed apologies to the wolf: "Ooh, don't ye lissen t' 'er. She does this with everybeast." "Many times sorry, sir. Please don' git offended." The grey fox Gullask watched the ferrethags fussing over the wolf and snorted, playing with his long-dagger as if it was a new toy.

"Oh then, why not just let me go and fend for myself then! Since I'm not good enough for you to treat, I'll treat myself." he snarled, straining his muscles against the ropes, but it still wasn't enough to break free.

Gullask chortled, sheathing his dagger. "Oi, wolf, I'm tempted t' do as sich jist t' see if'n Old Vaxdrea gits wot she deserves!", he said good-naturedly. The fox nudged one of his companions, a rat, and they went into a fit of laughter. The healer at the butt end of the joke scowled nastily and bared a single broken fang at the malebeasts. The other ferrets looked at each other and blinked.
