Hans Vermeer had Taken Marlfox Island. But things are going off at a bad start. First of all. There as an accident. Unfortunately some of his bowcats and corsairs were going out into the lake to the other dock when pike attacked the ship. Before any beast could stop them. Everyone was killed and the cog was sunk. Cogs were small trade ships. So unless a good number of bow beasts were on board. The pike usually tore the ships apart. But even with bow beasts the chances of these pike tearing the cogs to bits were high. Mostly because they came on all sides.
So now he was forced to stretch his forces. A lot. Just to keep workers under control and to keep the cavern and castle defended.
And on top of that. He saw that ghost again. And it disappeared before anyone saw it. Only he saw it. Only he heard it. But it seemed to him the most common place this ghost will be at is in the bed chamber. So those doors are guarded from any beast.
Hans put his paws on his face and leaned his head back. What was he going to do? He was going to have to put a lot of thought into finding some way to alert the other 10 corsairs and 30 bowcats over at the other dock of what had happened. If only he had a messenger. Like................ A bird or something...

Toboe walked into the throne room, padding silently across the floor. He sat at his new king's feet and glanced up at his anguished face worriedly. What troubles you, Sire?

Hans looked at the stone ceiling from between his paw fingers and started to rub his head. Than he spoke.
"Toboe. Those woods? I want you to take a small squad of about 4 bowcats and look for any flying creature. I don't care if it's small. As long as it is big enough to hold a damned message scroll... I'm sorry. But after the latest accident my forces are cut short and too far stretched out to spare no more than the number i allow you to take with you."

Toboe nodded and stood. He bowed respectfully. Four bowcats should be more than sufficient to carry out this task for you, M'Lord. I'll get started right away. He bowed once more and left the throne room. He walked straight to the barracks and walked in with a quiet air of authority and stood in ront of the bowcats that remained in there. Right me lucky buckoes, I just got an order from the king. I'm ter take four of you along with me into the forest to find something for him. So, any volunteers?

Four Bowcats that were off duty stepped forward. Willing to do their high king's bidding. The more things they fix here. The more able they would be the move and plunder. If they did not do their jobs. There would be a good chance everyone would be marooned on this island. They knew that in doing their objectives and missions. There might be a chance to get a large boat or more troops to come help them reinforce everything and of course. Be able to past through pike safely.
They got their bows and blades and stood in front of Toboe. Waiting for him to explain the mission...

Toboe nodded approvingly. Good. You won't be needing weapons, though. The king wants us to go out and catch him a bird to send messages with so we're going t use snares instead of weapons.

They obeyed the cat captain and put up their weapons and got snares and lassos. The HellBeast Bowcat were also good with lassos. Often catching unlucky barbarians that try to flee from them. When they came back. They stood at attention again.

Toboe looked around. We're all ready then? Good. Let's head out then. He walked over to the door and opened it, stepping out in the fresh air and sunshine. He stared up at the sky as he waited for the other four cats to join him.

The cats snuck out of the gates and behind Toboe.
"Do what are we gonna do for The Mightiness?"
"Yeah. Whats the King's plan?"
"Will it get us help."
"Yes. Will there be help?"

Toboe held up his paws for silence and waited until they were quiet before answering their questions. I just told you lot what we're doing. We're going to catch a bird for the king to send messages with. You remember the pike incident that happened not too long ago right? Well the king wants to send a message to his forces on the other side of the island to get us some reinforcements. From what I understand, it should bring us help, yes.

The Cats nodded. Now fully understanding why the High King needs a bird so badly. A messenger bird. A cat spoke.
"We are with ya. I'm not planing on staying here forever. Sure. Islands nice but its never bad to go plundering. Besides. Pike give me the creeps. Only fish I'll never wanna catch."
Funny. Cats are always known as good fishers. But when it came to pike. Cats often feel like fishing is more deadly than they thought. Pike can scar any cat's life. If there was one creature in fresh water that could end a cat's love for fishing. It was the pike.

Toboe nodded understandingly. I hate pike too mates, but without that help, we're stuck on this island which means we're also stuck with those pikes. That's why it's so important that we find a bird for the king. He struck off toward the forest and walked thoruhg the tree silently, keeping a weather eye open for birds.

The Cats followed. Keeping an eye out too. Being Cats. They were also good bird catchers. Though most birds are often too big for them. Like Hawks or eagles. But even against them. Cats and wildcats put up a formidable fight against them.

Toboe soon caught the scent of a bird nearby and followed it silently until he came to a stream where a small robin sat drinking and bathing in the shallow water. He snuck forward silently and motioned for the others to do the same.

They did as commanded. They were silent as they moved. Though they wondered if this bird can be reasoned with? No. Better to catch first and ask questions later. Still. The main thing they hoped was that robin was strong enough to fly all the way to the other dock with a scroll...
