First thing the ratmaid grabbed was the cheese. Rats and mice almost always loved cheese. What are Mice and Rats without cheese? She started happily eating the cheese. " I hope there IS alot more where this came from!" She giggled.

Toboe laughed and nodded. There's definitely a lot more where that came from. I'm glad you like it so much. I made it myself. I make all of my food myself, actually, or nearly all of it. It's more work, but it's safer in the long run.

"Hehehe... I should give you a bit of my cooking someday. See if you like it. I make a mean pike dinner!" The rat burst out laughing. If the cat got the little joke he might laugh too. A Mean Pike Dinner. Mean Pike. Well........ Not the best little joke anyone could hear but anything to lighten the mood of the area they were at. A Dark, Damp Dungeon.

The ratmaid giggled a little before she spoke. "Well... I kinda just thought on that one a little and i thought it was funny. So i thought i should tell it to you. I don't know how i could teach you. But lets try. Go on. Come up with a joke of your own.

At that instant, a piece of parchment slid underneath the door noiselessly, and shortly afterwards muted pawsteps walking away from the cell door. The scent upon the air, if one's nose was very sensitive (Or one of the beast's species), they would discover that that scent was of a fox.

Toboe pounced on the note as soon as it was pushed under the door and he paused as he litstened to the pawsteps fading away. Reading it curiously, he froze again as he caught the scent of a fox on the paper.

The note read thus:
Dear ratmaid,
For whaever reason they have locked you up, I apologize if it was due to my handiwork. Perhaps I might be able to arrange an escape, if you so wish. And whatever your decision, know this: I have not completely abandoned the water rats to their fate under the rule of Hans the imposter. Keep this note hidden if at all possible. There is still hope yet.
And the message ends with a ink pawprint on the paper, as well as an illegible cursive signature.

Veva looks at the cat as he reads the letter. Getting a little more nervous every moment. Suddenly feeling a cold chill in her spine. As if a ghost had been here and than gone. She was finding herself actually dreading what the letter might be saying. But she was forced to choke out her words. "What does it say Toboe?"
Savlador had finished his meal and was about to head to his chambers for a long sleep when he caught the scent. The fox had just pasted here! He thought. He ran to his chambers and came back out with a hauberk on and with his large battle axe in hand along with his rathide cloak. He ran back to the spot and started to follow the fox's scent...

Toboe looked up at her surprisedly and then read it to her. It says, "Dear ratmaid, For whaever reason they have locked you up, I apologize if it was due to my handiwork. Perhaps I might be able to arrange an escape, if you so wish. And whatever your decision, know this: I have not completely abandoned the water rats to their fate under the rule of Hans the imposter. Keep this note hidden if at all possible. There is still hope yet." That's all it says. There's a signature at the bottom, but I can't make it out.

The scent wove through the dungeons, stopping at a door that led to the wine cellars. The door itself was left open, as if it was an invitation to enter and investigate the room. No one was about, not even the quartermaster rat, Bilhar, who was usually near the wine cellars 'checkin' up on everythin'.'.

The Ratmaid shook her head and finally spoke. "Hans the Impostor. Well. He had us going when it came to the Marlfox thing. Really to tell the truth. I'm not sure if what i believe is a Marlfox is really a Marlfox anymore. If A creature like Hans was a Arctic Fox and he looked alot like a Marlfox. Than how is it possible that they are really two different species? As for an escape. Now I'm even more scared than before. Salvador is mad enough. If he ever found this letter or even worse. Caught me trying to escape. He would maul me!"
Salvador stuck his big scaly head through the crack and looked first from side to side than upward at the ceiling. All the wine had been taken out of this place and put into the dungeons. So finding the fox should be very easy. He took a step in with his axe in his clawed hands.

The absence of torches made the room rather gloomy and dark, adding to the emptiness. There was one barrel left in a corner, an unmarked one, that smelled of foxpaws, and strangely, cooked pike. What little light coming through the doorway gave no help whatsoever as to what was inside.

Toboe shoook his head and threw a reassuring paw around her shoulders. Salvador won't get anywhere near you, Vera. I won't let him touch you or hurt you, and he can't do anything unless I say so. Hans left me in charge so I have the final say around here until he gets back.

"You should be worrying about Hans right now! When he gets back and hears you let the Marlfox escape. He might have you fed to the Teeth of the Deeps for treason! Those pike rip apart anything that even sticks their toe in their waters! That Marlfox might try to kill him! You do know this right?" The rat looked at him as if confused about if he is loyal to Hans or on the MarlFoxes' side.
Salvador cursed himself. He had not brung a axe or any throwing weapon. He was also mad about the fact the so-called "Marlfox" had made this his "Base" the whole time! The last place the monitor would ever look! He waited there. Seeing if there would be any movement...
