OOC: Continued from 'Previously a Corsair Fox'.
Silas, still fidgeting with his backpack straps, regained his balance as he nearly fell flat on his face after tripping on a small rock protruding out of the path itself. The impact caused his footpaw to feel sore for a few minutes, but at least it brought him back to reality for a few minutes. He turned to Selesa and asked, "So, you said we were going to the sea?"

"Well yes we are, we can't go near Sala though, unless we want to look like pincushions." Her large paws unconsciously rubbed her left arm. A arrow didn't feel to good in between your claws. She had found that out by experiencing it. Earlier when Silas had tripped she had giggled, rather loudly.
Allarin smiled at Silas and jogged up to his sister. To the squirell it would be easy to notice the lovestruck eyes, and kissing motions. Of course the wolves spent a lot of their tiem serious it was nice to joke around once in a while.

Silas kept walking, regaining most of his dignity, and signalled back to Alarrin in Tail-code, [What?] Although it was clear what the wolf meant by his actions. However, Silas did feel something for Tamar. He just wasn't exactly sure what the feeling was yet.

Allarin flashed two of his left figers and swished his tail back twice. [Nothing at all.] Of course there was a smirk perched on his face that turned into a full blown grin as his sister finished talking.
"Come on Silas your lagging again, your heart must ache that bad.." Selesa shrugged and picked up the pace, Allarin decided to let her look the fool and walk ahead on her own Waiting for Silas to catch up his black eyes turned to the treetops.

Vortex walked along silently. He didn't know where they were gong, he had just been walking back to Redwall when he bumped into them. "Where are we going?" His side throbbed, but he didn't show it except for hissing quietly through his teeth and perhaps walking a little more stiffly than usual.

Silas did indeed catch up with the wolves, and kept his pace at Selesa's remark. However, he did not respond, merely walking alongside Alarrin as the walls of Redwall Abbey grew farther and farther away. Still fidgeting, he glanced up at the sky, seeing some sort of bird soar past far up in the sky.

"Thats not Silas--wh said you could come fox?" Selesa replied stiffly. She could still smell death comng off of him, and it had been a while since Selesa had actually ate another creature right after the light had left its eyes. The last time had been when she was hunting Allarin's slavers through the dunes, the toad hadn't tasted to good though.
Allarin laid a paw on Silas' shoulder and helped him remember where his feet all were loacated. Why was he so distracted? Could he had been struck with love as quickly as that, was that even possible?

As Alarrin silently askd those questions to himself, Silas looked up at the wolf as he put a paw on his shoulder. Silas, while being one of the taller squirrels, still fell short of Alarrin's height. Trying to stop fidgeting, he looked ahead a few paces at Vortex and Selesa.

"No one," he said. "But I'm coming." He needed a good fight to get back in shape, and he had a sort of feeling that traveling with the squirrel and wolves would mean a fight - whether with them or with their enemies, he didn't know. But currently Vortex was feeling so depressed that he didn't particularly care if he died in a battle. That was his normal state of mind.

"Thanks for asking--I can't make you ask just yet." Selesa growled. Sarcasm leaked out of her words ,but her annoyance was soon forgotten as she took in another deep breath of forest air. The scents tickled her sensitive orefactories causing a content smile to flit across her face. Besides they would lose him soon enough, he looked tired.
Allarin ever the friendly type shook his head at Selesa's rudeness. he knew how cruel the creatures at redwall could be if you looked vermin. Quickly his tail flashed the word 'song?'. Black eyes glanced at his sister trying to make sure she hadn't seen it.

[Me?] Silas replied, scuffing his left paw across the gravel to make the sign. He hoped half-jokingly that Alarrin wasn't asking Selesa to sing. But in his reckoning, he probably couldn't either. As he awaited an answer, he thought he saw a flicker of motion between the trees to their left.

[no, him? I used to but....] Allarin sighed. His sister had oen of the most beautiful howls on the planet. It felt horrible to not bee able to release his worries like that. Both of the wolves snapped to the flash in the woods--what was going on?

[Oh...] Silas replied, glancing first down at the path, then following the wolves' gaze. Something was out there, but what. He stopped, and called out, "Who goes there?" There came no response, no signs of life nor movement for several seconds. Hmmm... The squirrel thought.

Vortex was alert, and had an arrow on his drawn bowstring and pointed at the movement with a flash. "Show yourself!" He hissed as the movement hurt his wound, but stayed there with the bowstring drawn back, glaring. He was ready to shoot.

Allarin walked closer to Vortex and shook his head at the show of force. They were a group of vermin after all, excluding Silas. So it could just as well be friend as much as it was a foe. So it wasn't a wise idea to shoot just yet.
Selesa sighed, her voice cutting through the woods. "If you do not show yourself you are a foe." Not many wanted to be the foe of two creautres the size of Selesa, and puppy like Allarin who wasn't that dangerous.
