"We're alright, a little itchy to go somewhere but alright." Selesa replied, looking to her brohter for confirmation. the grey wolf let his shoulders droop, showing that while he was alright his attitude was going downhil. Lately he had been a little depressed, due mostly to the lack of people here who could udnerstand tail speak. Kolia was able to, and the skipper had just left on a summer trip to the south. So that left him with Selesa andSilas to talk to. Or that talkative maid in the library. THE HORROR!

Silas nods in acknowledgement, still looking out over the horizon. "I know how ye feel now." He replied, wanting to leave himself get out for a little while, more or less to think.

Selesa sighed, and laid her torso across the russet ramparts. Both of her black eyes closed in thought. Slowly but surely her tail began to wag across the back of her legs, a obvious sign of a idea. NIf the smirk wasn't sign enough. "All we need is a reason. I think that unless you have a idea Silas then I am ready to tell you mine, and we wouldn't be leavin' Redwwall defenseless after all." her voice was obviously expecting something fro mSilas, of course whther it was a idea or not was very hard to tell.
Beside her Allarin felt his spirits soar. Maybe they coud pay a visit to some relatives!? Of course he neglected to remember that all the ones left were insane, or vermins of excellent standing in a army, or corsair legion.

Silas turned his gaze to Selesa. He himself did not have an idea, a reason to leave the Abbey. He was happy here.
Was.
Now, something was eating at him, growing slowly over the past few weeks, gnawing at him with questions, most seemingly with no answer. He spoke.
"Well, let's hear it, then."

Selesa looked slightly crestfallen. It was obvious she had wanted a reason from Silas. 'Well--I have heard rumor of a small vermin encampment to the west of here. Sala hasn't got around to them yet, and they are in no other creature's jurisdiction." The wolfess hoped that was enough. The reason was true enough, its validity on the other hand was almost impossible to ensure. But just like Allarrin and Silas she wanted out of te peaceful commmutity, tension was building over their heads and she needed a cance to disperse it. Shaky paws caused misaimed arrows after all.

"I see." Silas answered plainly. Another hunt... he thought as Selesa told him her idea. He then asked a question. "When do we head out?" Though he wasn't exacty eager to fight vermin once more, he did want some time where he could get back out into the woods. He liked it out there as well as in the Abbey, but what was better was that it offered him a quiet spot to think, one in where he wasn't asked to perform a task every thirty minutes or so.
OOC: Blech short post... BTW, whadda ya think of my writing? Wonderin' what other peeps think.

(well that post needs to be at least 3 lines....) "Never said we actually had to go fight a bunch of stupid vermin." Selesa mubled, as her brother laid his hand on his sword hilt. They were not actually going to fight, unless provoked. The Sali recruits needed training after all.
"It will be fun Silas. Of course we can always let you go off by yourself if you want." The black wolfess nodded her head. Hoping that all the depressed squirell needed was some time to think, she couldn't provide him with nothing more then that.

((It's good!))
Vortex put on his weapons and found his way through Redwall, toward the gates. He heard creatures talking... It was that squirrel. And a few wolves. The black wolf had just called the squirrel Silas. Was that his name? He approached them, using all his skills to stay camoflauged, until he was standing not ten paces away. He was still a bit wobbly, but he was tired of fish. Birds, raw bird meat, that would be what he needed. He coughed to announce his precence and stepped out of the shadows.

"Oh look more ver--" Realizing her comment would have been very rude she stopped. Selesa couldn't help but get a odd feeling from this fox, the same one she got from a certain fox uncle of hers(Allarin and Selesa were 1/5 fox). He was a flirtatious corsair, but above all he was cruel to anyone he didn't adore. Of course he did love his neice and nephew.
Beside ehr Allarin had tensed. What was his problem today!? He was axcting like he wanted to rip anyone who came t near to shreds.

"Oh yeah..." Silas said as he heard Selesa's half-sentence and Vortex's cough. "You got better fast, Vortex." Silas said as the fox drew near. "I assume you want to leave the abbey too?" of course he did! He was a fox, one with bloodwrath at that, and probably felt at least a bit uncomfortable inside the abbey.

Vortex winced as he leaned against the wall on his hurt side. "I'm not better yet," he said. "I'd like to go outside this Abbey to hunt, though." He awaited Silas's reply, unsure what the squirrel would think of his going to hunt. He needed meat, though - too long on a diet without raw meat and he got indigestion.

Silas, being a squirrel, did not fully understand the fox in what he meant. "You mean, to hunt for food?" he guessed, having past experiences with foxes before. If Vortex wanted his 'food', he would have to have a weapon of some sort. And if things got out of paw, he might attack them.

Vortex nodded. "Birds, I hope, but rats and snakes are good too." He was immediately sorry he had said so much. Silas didn't need to know all the gory details of what he ate. He retreated a few steps, and tightened his grip on his bow.

Silas stopped himself from flinching in disgust. Snakes? Rats?! He knew the latter were mostly vermin, but, you couldn't just eat another living creature, one that talks and thinks and can defend itself more readily. Seeing the fox put a paw to his bow, Silas did not move to do the same with his dagger, but instead nodded in remote understanding. "If you're well enough, you can go hunt." Besides, it's not like he could go back inside and attack the abbeybeasts... Silas' worst fear was failing them... again.

"You act as if meats horri--you didn't hear that." Selesa finished ith a growl turning her face towards the approaching breeze. She had never eaten a bird, but a few snakes, and one or two frogs had made it onto the list of food, she needed the meat unlike Silas. Her brother only had fish once and a while, but Selesa didn;t consider that enough. Her stomach growled for somethng with a litttle more gore, and a little more work to catch.
Allarin shrugged. Slowly but surely his ear twitched forward twice, military/animal sign langauge of 'when?'. Meaning nothing more then when did they leave?Alll they had to do was find two creatures willing to take their place for a while.
