Silas frowned, depositing his cumbersome backpack on the path, swiftly climbing the wall to come face to face with his accuser. For a moment, Silas went quiet, able to see Tamar much better than at a distance. His deep blue eyes took on a serious characteristic several moments later as he clung to the battlements, his footpaws pushing against the wall. After a second or two he got over the initial pause in his speech and adressed her. "Miss," He started, pausing again, "Pregnant or not, that creature made a choice. It's not my job to make decisions for otherbeasts, or command their actions. I can only help." He tried to explain, looking back at the huffy squirrelmaiden. After a few more seconds passed, he added, "And might I know the name of the beast who so accused me?" Silas was not one to let his honor be questioned, especially by somebeast he didn't even know.

"Don't you talk to me Selesa. You didn't try to help her either," Tamar yelled down at the wolf, and as she did she hardly noticed Silas climbing up the wall until he confronted her with those blue eyes. "Oh, I suppose," she fidgeted, rolled her eyes, sighed with resignation and then said, "I'm Tamar." She blushed, ashamed of herself for calling him out, now that she saw that he really had been trying to help.

Silas' gaze seemed to soften at this, saying mostly to himself, "Tamar, aye?" He then offered a paw towards the squirrelmaid, the other still gripping the battlement. "Nice to meet ye." Oddly, the words came from his lips of their own accord, despite the situation that caused the squirrel to climb up the wall in record time to converse with this Tamar. Blushing a bit as well, he wondered what she thought of his clearly strange mood change.

Tamar couldn't stop staring into those blue eyes. It took her a moment to realize that he had offered his paw and then she put out hers as well. She swallowed hard, "Oh, yes, it's, er, nice to meet you to, er . . ." She knew his name. What was it?

Silas felt Tamar's paw in his, hardly noticing her stammering, for he was looking back at her. He almost forgot to shake his paw and offer her his first name, "Uh, Silas..."

"Silas," she repeated quietly and then uttered a very unTamar-like giggle.
Saol had made her way across the grounds following her friend but as a mole being wary of heights she did not climb the wallsteps. "Wat you'm be doin' to tha' poor gennlebeast, Tamer?"
At the words of her friend Tamar realized the precarious position of the male squirrel. Not that he wasn't an excellent climber. He obviously was but. . . "Lack a day," she cried, her eyes wide, and she tightened her grip on his paw as if she, in her own strength, could stop him from falling if he lost his grip.

"It's okay, miss." Silas reassured Tamar, seeing Selesa and Alarrin out of the corner of his eye, wincing minutely as she gripped his paw tightly. "I've done this many times before."He added. He wondered silently if Tamar has actually had the time to climb rather tall objects at all...

"I'm sorry," Tamar withdrew her paw rather quickly and clasped it with her other one behind her back. "I'm sure you have." But as she said these last words she wondered if the thing he had done so many times before was climbing so expertly or stealing the hearts of young squirrelmaids. She nodded curtly. Well, it's not as if he's stolen my heart, she lied to herself. "Umm, didn't you have somewhere that you were going, Mister Hawkeye?"

"Yeah..." The squirrel agreed, still itching to roam, but yet... "Best get goin'." Silas replied, climbing up onto the battlement and suddenly leaping from the wall onto an oak branch. Hauling himself up onto the bobbing limb, he made as if to leave, but turned about and said, "Tamar?"

Tamar was torn between believing that he was just showing off for her and being very impressed, as she watched him leap from wall to branch. She wanted a reason to be angry with him again so she didn't have to like him so much. And then he said her name and she answered a bit too eagerly, "Yes?"

"Next time I think I'll stick to wavin' to ye as a greeting." He, said in his usual half-accent, and indicated the paw he shook her paw with. "Ye got quite a grip..." With that, he made a slight gesture, perhaps a nod of farewell with his head, and descended towards the two wolves and the fox.

"Enjoy your walk, Mister Hawkeye!," she spat venomously at him. Then she spun around and stormed down the wallssteps when she was near the bottom she glanced back over her shoulder to see if he was still watching her but she didn't get a good look because just at that moment she tripped over her tail and bounced down the last couple of steps on her rear end. Looking terribly disheveled and feeling humiliated Tamar thought, Sweet Martin, please don't let Silas have seen that.

"Come on you squirell! We have places to go!" Selesa was already farther up the path then when Silas had left. That squirell was easily distracted. Not for one second did she think him lovestruck. Of course she didn't know the feeling, and Silas didn't seem the trype to fall head over heels for some femme he had just met, especially someone like Tamar.

Vortex, too, was impatient. He tapped his foot and took out his dagger, examining the blade for dirt and small flaws. It was fine. He was almost dissapointed, for he had been hoping for it to distract him for a while. He sighed and put it back.

Silas descended the tree rapidly at Selesa's comment, and bent to retrieve his backpack. He glanced back at the walltop one last time, seing that Tamar had already left. Well, of course she did, after making a sour and venomous remark like that after he left. It was almost like she expected him to say something else... But was... disappointed... Ah well, He told himself, I can worry later.
Jogging to Selesa and Alarrin, he finally said, "Alright. Lead on."
