Vortex nodded. "My thanks." He turned and went slowly, painfully down the stairs, opened a wallgate, and went through. Soon the black fox had vanished, using his skill of camoflauge to blend in.
He smiled as he saw a fledgeling woodpigeon, and shot it quickly. He didn't even bother to pluck the feathers off, just tore right into the warm flesh. Delicious. After burying the remains, he found a small stream to rinse the blood off himself. The fox washed off his arrow too - it wouldn't be smart to leave a perfectly good arrow in the bird! He wandered the woods awhile, then, near dusk, headed back towards Redwall.

OOC: Meanwhile...
Silas did watch the fox leave for a moment, but then turned to face Selesa and Alarrin again. "Well, when do we head out?" He repeated his question, also speaking for Alarrin. He then awaited an answer from Selesa, adjusting the collar of his tunic.

"Whenever your ready, me and Allarrin can go with little provisions." The black wolfess replied. Pulling her black tunic closer to her body as the next breeze blew in, this one with a obvious winter chill. The hot days were soon to end, it was best to get the travelling itch gone now. She didn't want to be antsy during Redwall's winter, who knew what she would do to amuse herself.

"Alright... Lemme get my stuff first." Silas replied, turning to descend the wallstairs and retrieve his belongings. Minus his tailring, of course. He moved at a hurried speed, also anxious to get outside, maybe do some real tree-hopping instead of performing countless laps around the orchard...
Soon, he returned, his backpack laden with the usual effects, and the generous helping of Redwall fare donated by the cooks. Walking back up to the walltops, he waited for the wolves to start off the journey, or get their own belongings if needed

Allarin had followed shortly after Allarrin and had come back. His sisters bladed staff held loosely in one paw, and a simple, homemade haversack in the other. It was obvious it was old. Almost every paret of the bag was fraying, and the stitching was coming out. The arrangements with the abbot were made, a otter named Binki would take bth of the wolves shifts. There was no reason to expect dangerous after all.
"LETS MOVE OUT!" The female wolf half howled, grabbing her staff from her brother before pushing on the door with her free hand. He could carry the staff, he wouldn't be providing entertainment with his voice after all.

OOC: Lol! Binki?!
Silas grinned as Selesa yelled, falling in stride with the wolves as they set out. To any outside observer it would appear rather odd that a squirrel was travelling with two wolves, but then again nearly nobeast was out in Mossflower woods... save for Vrelt, Kolia, and Vortex. He shifted the backpack upon his shoulders and marched on, glad to be outside the walls once more.

"So what shall I--" Behind her Allarin had already stuck both of his paws in his ear. Not to mention scrunched both of his eyes closed. Embarassed his sister shut her mouth, fine she had been practicing with the dibbun trainer as well. She would howl later, nothing wasm ore beautiful then a wolf howling, especially a off key one. t was lonely when one had to howl alone, maybe she could teach Silas.
"So where to?" Hoefully the squirell had figured out the fact that most of it was a ruse. The only part that wasn't was the need to get outside, the abbess had understood of course and willingly let them leave. (Yes.I almost named him Bikini----XD)

Silas of course picked up on the fact that the idea was indeed a cover story, but at that point in time it didn't really matter to him. He answered the female wolf, grinning slightly, "Well, wherever ye want to go, I guess." He looked back at the towering structure of Redwall abbey, as if to say goodbye to the place he called home for about a few weeks. Looking up at the walltops, he thought he saw something.

Selesa looked to the north. She wanted to get a little bit closer to home(where she and her mom had lived), or go in the opposite direction, south. Yet her mind was set on one place, nowhere near either. "Ever been to the sea Si?" The black wolfess turned her head to her brother, he hadn't and i f they asked what had taken so long they could claim that Sala had insisted they stay. of course the last time they went for a visit they almost looked like pincusions on the way out.
Allarin was smiling from ear to ear. Which was odd, seeing as it was slightly painful for him to stretch the muscles in his neck that far. The sea....come on si!

Vortex was walking back towards Redwall when he heard voices. He headed over that way, and saw the wolves and Silas. He waved and walked over to them, greeting them all with a nod. "Didn't think I'd bump into you out here."

Saol and Tamar walked out of the Abbey building and in to the sunshine arm in arm. It had been a long night with the council meeting and most of the older beasts had gone up to the dormitories to bed. The squirrelmaid and the new Abbess, however, were young and not about to miss out on the delights of such a beautiful morning. “Just think of it,” Tamar sighed, “My best friend, the Mother Abbess of all Redwall.” “Oi bin doin' nothin' but thinkin' ov et, Tamer,” the molemaid smiled. “It's such an important position, maybe the most important,” Tamar went on. “Think of the power this gives you. Think of the things we can accomplish.” There it was, Saol thought, rolling her small black eyes, 'thing's we can accomplish.' Tamar was always this way. She had it in her mind to rid the world of all its injustices, especially those exacted upon female creatures. As the two friends walked further into the grounds they came upon what the squirrelmaid believed to be one of those injustices. The watched in amazement as the pregnant weasel was being lead out of the gate. “Saol!” Tamar exclaimed. “You can't let them do this!” The molemaid shrunk back quietly. “Oi think Selesa an' Silas got et gurtly un'er control.” “But they're going to throw that poor defenseless female out to the wind and weather to fend for herself and her child in seasons only knows what kind of conditions!” She was in to one of her rants. The only thing to stop her now was her friend's sound mole logic. “Et looked to Oi, loik she was ee one who wanted to leave. We bain't doin' 'er no favors boi makin' 'er stay, burr no.” Tamar sighed heavily, “I suppose not.” But she glared at Silas and the wolves all the same. “That squirrel,” she huffed quietly, “practically pushed her out the gate and without so much as a crust of bread.” “'E did not,” Saol reprimanded her friend. “'E was ee one troien to 'elp 'er. Now,” Saol attempted to change the subject. “Lets go to ee orchard an' pick sum apples fur a gurt poi.” Tamar followed along reluctantly but her eyes continually returned to the gate where she could see Silas and the wolves preparing to go off somewhere. By the time they were opening the gate and actually leaving the grounds of the Abbey, Tamar could stand it no longer. She ran across the lawn and took the wallsteps two and three at a time. Then she leaned out over the battlements and yelled at the retreating backs of the warriors, “Leaving so soon, Mister Hawkeye?”
((“She's being bossy again, mate. I can always tell when she's in that mood, 'cos she calls me Mister MacBurl” - Rackety Tam))

OOC: Heh. *Smiles at the reference in general* It's spelled 'Rakkety' Tam, though I'm bein' too technical today...
Silas, however, had no idea whom the beast adressing him was. He looked back up at the seemingly tiny squirrelmaid on the walltops, calling out to her, "Yes, miss! We're goin' out for a little walk, if ye don't mind!" Of course, that walk might last days, or weeks. But, then again the squirrel has been 'on the move' for years...

Vortex regarded the distant squirrel with a bit of annoyance. What was she doing? Trying to stop them? Vortex touched the handle of his dagger, corsair instincts taking over for a second, but then released it. He couldn't kill the squirrel, or any goodbeasts.

((duh i've got the book sitting right here in front of me *smacks herself in the head*))
Tamar was miffed by his casual attitude. "So you just feel the need to come to Redwall long enough to throw poor pregnant creatures out into the cold and then off you go again, careless as you please?" She had the decency to know to he was, the least he could do was ask her name.

"Ho, I think Silas has a little angry girklfrien' up there." Selesa mentioned cheekily to her brother. Upon hearing te voice a second time she groaned, this wasn't going to turn out well, especially if Silas had no idea who she was. "Kick her out?She would hae tried somethin' if we didn't let her out." Selesa barked back. Nearby a few trees exploded with the beating wings of a few doves. Which both wolves ignored. Hopefully ith another female taking up for Silas the female squirell would back off.
