Callista had gotten herself a bath and finally some fresh, clean cloth. Even though there were not anything made of silk or with golden lining. It was just a plain white shirt with a gold colored sash. Nothing at all special about it other than the fact that it was a shirt and not a tunic. Oh well though. It was better than nothing at all or something dirty. The bath had did wonders for her. Nomore sea smell, nice beautiful white fur that slightly shined, nicely groom whiskers and trimmed claws. She may not look much like a princess, but she sure looked at lot better than most other beasts do. Opening the door, she stepped out of her room and made way to the feast!
Kruaser didn't mind his bath much. He thought he didn't need one, but everyone else said otherwise. The nasty dirt, dried blood, sea smell and Dark Forest knows whatelse on his fur was gone now. Now his Dark Red fur was much better seen and decent. One thing that had been gone since the ship trip was the dark circles around his eyes from lack of sleep in the past. They were gone now and may never show up again for a very long time now that he can get the appropriate amount of sleep now. So all and all. He looked a lot better with the sleep and the now recent bath. Don't get anything wrong though. He was still scary as hellgates. If not even just a little bit more because of the now see able dark red fur. But now he looked decent. Even his eyes were starting to get they're color back....... Though very slowly.
He had to get rid of his tunic and he did it by simply throwing it out his window. He had simply grabbed the first thing that he thought would look nice. A clean simple white tunic with a yellow sash. He growed lowly. What the hellgates is it with everyone in this damned palace and sashes? He thought. He has seen everyone wearing these things on this island. Even the palace guards had them. When he was in the Royal Ferret Army. They didn't have sashes, they had belts and the reason? Scabbards! THATS WHY!
The stoat put on the tunic and sash angry mumbling..... "Damn backwards ass animals...." When he finally got himself all nice and dressed. He realized he would be a blade. Just in case something went wrong. Any of his blades are either not too good looking or would be too distracting. So he would need a simple sword...
As he left his room. He noticed one of the palace guards and "kindly" asked for his sword. Which he easily got. Now with a sword thrust into his sash. He made way to the feast. (Chuck Norris Stoat strikes again! xD)

Moll looked into the mirror at the unfamiliar queenly face staring back at her. She was still unaccustomed to this creature they managed to turn her into. Oh they had taught her to speak like a gentlebeast and how to sit up strait and which fork to use at dinner but deep inside she still felt like a tavernmaid from dockside. "So am I ready now? Can I go to the dining room?"
"Not quite yet, m'Lady." The voice was that of Larka who had come in through a hidden door that was made to look like part of the wall and connected the Queen's chambers with that of her trusted bodyguard. "Protocol dictates that the other guests be in their seats so that they can stand when you enter to honor your presence."
Moll turned around in her chair to look at Larka incredulously. "Let me get this strait. They have to be sitting down so they can stand back up again?"
"Yes, m'Lady." The stoatmaid smiled at the honest question. "I agree it doesn't make much sense but that is the way things are done."
Moll sighed and slumped down in her chair.
"Posture, Majesty." One of her ladies intoned.
She sighed again this time rolling her eyes as she sat back up strait.

The General had rejected the rich clothing he often wore, including the crimson armor he always had on. Like Callista, the bath had made his pure white fur look like it almost shined, it must have been a trait shared by all Pure Ferrets. Instead of his usual clothing, he wore a simple black shirt, a crimson belt that held his scabbard, which in turn held his deadly saber, and he was also clothed with his black corsair pants. Drask cut his whiskers shorter, they were a little to long for his taste, for they resembled his brother's.
Drask started off to the dining room, with slow strides. He entered the room several minutes later, finding he was the first there. So now all he had to do was wait on the rest of the beasts attending the feast. The general poured himself a glass of damson wine and took a seat at the long table.
Alexander was also quickly dressed. He wore light crimson armor like the kind Drask favored, and forest green pants. The Pine Marten left his chambers, but not after putting on his brown belt that held his saber proudly to his side. Alexander walked at a leisurely pace toward the dining room, wondering if Renak and Krauser had fought to get of their baths. A smile came to the major's face as he walked through the hallway.

Krauser didn't fight when he had his bath, but the slaves giving him the scrub down were so scared that they did it as fast as possible while still making him clean as to avoid him suddenly lashing out and hurting them, but he never laid a paw on any of them. Now he was walking down the hall when he suddenly noticed Alexander and smiled wide. "Hey Alex! Wait up for me! We can have a chat while we walk to the dinning room! Bahahahahahaha!"
Krauser just wanted to see if Alexander would walk a bit faster in a attempt to avoid him. When Krauser was not pushing Drask's buttons. He was either scaring or annoying others. Well really it went scaring beasts first but eventually they just start to get annoyed by him.
Callista finally made it into the Dinning room to see Drask already there. "Hello Drask.... Wheres Krauser? You all didn't take him out while i was getting my bath huh? " Smiling as she said it. She also liked pushing Drask's buttons. It was always fun to do and there were few funnier things than seeing and hearing how Drask reacts when he gets his buttons pushed too much.

In the dining room standing a few paces behind the queen's chair in the shadows was her second bodyguard. The monitor was hooded and cloaked and watching for any reason not to let the queen enter. So far only the general and a member of the other party had arrived. He may not have been all that fond of Drask but he knew the ferret was no threat to the queen. This stoat with the sword it his sash gave the guard reason to straighten up and take notice.
Moll looked down at her dress. It was navy blue fitted at the bodice with a full skirt. It wasn't too bad, she decided and at least they had let her keep on her own favorite black leather boots. Those 'slippers' they wanted her to wear were just too much and nobeast would even see them under the long skirt she war. So that was one battle she had won. The sash on the other paw they had forced her to keep. It was silver in color and she was sure it would get in the way while she was trying to eat. Still they had sewn into it a sheath for her dagger, the one her father had left her. And it made her feel better just to have the old weapon close to paw.
She tried to think of something to talk about to pass the time. "Did we ever hear back if Walon or Trug had accepted our invitation?"
"Not that I know of, m'Lady," Larka answered, standing patiently by the door ready for word that it was time for her to escort the queen to dinner. "But the messengers were sent of at very short notice. I'm sure they will come if they are able. Neither of them would take a summons from the palace lightly."
"Of course," Moll answered but she bit her lip in agitation. She wished it didn't take a summons from the palace to get Truglim here. She wished he would just come to see her on his own. Maybe she needed to tell him it was alright with her if he did.

Unlike many of the other beasts, Alexander had learned that Krauser wouldn't try to kill him. The Pine Marten slowed down to allow the Stoat to catch up, wondering why he liked to bother everybeast so much. "What is it, Krauser?"Instead of being scared, Alexander was annoyed, having to put up with that crazed stoat was not something he enjoyed.
Drask looked over to Callista as she entered the dining room, and she sure looked better than the miserable ferret he found in Mossflower. A good bath and clean clothes had changed her appearance enough that Drask couldn't find the proper words to say, until he took a sip of the damson wine. "Oh, I should have done that, it might have stopped him from bothering me so much." He wasn't about to play her game and get irritated with her as easily as he had in the past. Drask smiled slightly back to her, "It seems as if you cleaned up much nicer than the smart mouthed, miserable, soaking wet ferret that I found in Mossflower."
Renak entered the dining room next, he walked in stiffly, clearly uncomfortable in his new, clean uniform. The weasel took a seat on the other side of the table, and looked over to Drask. "I take back what I said about wanting to wear one of these uniforms, General."
Zahn came in seconds behind Renak, looking confident and clearly more comfortable in the crimson colored uniform he wore. Before taking a seat at the long table, he bowed to both Drask and Callista, "Greetings General Darkfang, Madam Callista." With that the short fox took a seat next to Renak on the other side of the table with a broad smile as he noticed how uncomfortable the weasel beside him looked.

Callista made a quiet gasp and than pointed a threatening finger at him without her arm leaving it's side and whispered through gritted teeth. "Don't you bring that part up." Though she said it with a hint of a humoring even playful tone. Her mood was much improved since her bath and a change to clean cloths. When she heard Zahn come in to greet them both. She smiled. "Hello there Sir Zahn. Ready to enjoy the feast?"
Krauser smiled at the Pine Martin and wrapped a arm around his shoulders so he could not escape him. "So your looking forward to the feast? Ya think you'd get a reward from Drask? You know? Like a slave? Wonder if there even is a pine martin slave around here. Maybe that is why you don't have one right now right? Hahahahaha....." There it goes. That scary chuckle of his.

Moll heard a scurry of footsteps in the hallway and then the mumble of a whispered conversation as Larka poked her head out the door to see what was going on. The stoatmaid guard then turned back and informed her, "The guests are nearly all assembled. It is time to prepare for your entrance." Moll nodded and stood and there was another flurry of activity as creases in satin were smoothed and fur was checked for perfection. She had declined wearing the tiara they offered her. Instead the only jewelry she wore was the necklace Teague had given her when he pronounced her to be his queen. This, she felt, was more a statement of her royalty than any crown. "Let's do this thing," she sighed resignedly. ((I seem to remember Teague giving her a necklace but I'm going to have to go back and look in the old threads. If it wasn't already written, I'm making it up now so )) The queen would not be entering the dining room by the same door as the other guests. There was a hidden door behind her seat that she would wait behind until all was ready for her. She and Larka traveled there now but a secret passage and Moll tried to strike up a conversation to ease her nerves. "Larka, did they say if Truglim had arrived yet?" "They said he had not," Larka smiled at the queen's interest in the subject. "But I am sure he is on his way." Moll nodded and thought about that for a moment. She would feel much more confident in the presence of guests if she had a friend at the party. Then she changed the subject. "Will we still do our sparing in the morning?" The queen and her guard woke early most every morning to practice with blades. It was an exercise they both enjoyed but Moll was sure that having guests would mean a late night of wine and talking and wasn't sure if either of them would be prepared at sunrise for the ritual. "I believe we should keep in the habit if at all possible, m'Lady." Larka stopped in front of the door they were to enter and knocked twice with her claw to let the Monitor guard on the other side know that they were there. He in turn would knock to let them know when it was time. Now Larka took the time to make sure that her own uniform was in order.

Drask smiled, with a hint of playfulness in his voice as well. "I might have to tell them that." The general turned away from Callista and nodded in acknowledgment of Zahn. He took another sip of his glass of damson wine and leaned back in his chair, looking much more laid back than normal. Perhaps it was the wine that made him feel relaxed, he wished Moll would get here already.
The Pine Marten elbowed Krauser, "You know, if Drask gives you a slave, she'll kill herself before she even gets to your room!" Alexander put his arm around the crazed stoat's shoulders, and he laughed at his attempt to annoy Krauser in turn. The dining room was just a few dozen feet away, and all the beasts there could here Alexander's booming laugh echoing through the hallway.
"I'm ready for it to begin, Madam." Zahn politely answered the Pure Ferret, remembering his manners though the beast sitting next to him never did. The short fox poured himself a glass of the wine that Drask was drinking, he took a long, slow sip, savoring the rich flavor in his mouth.

Krauser didn't miss a beat. He smiled "Thats why you always choose the brave ones. They are often too wond up with honor to take a coward's way out. Drask said the reward was ANYTHING we wanted. So really. I choose which beast becomes my slave! Besides. It's worth the shot. Beats having to go to traverns and bars to PAY for the types of services slave can give ya for free and who could kill themselves over a pretty face like mine? I got it all cleaned up and all pretty like everyone else's now did i? Hahahahaha...."
Second Drask turned his back to her. Callista caught him with a quick playful kick. "Oh shut up and go sit down and be drunk!" She said. Yeah. She was in a great mood. Drask had always been a great rival to have when it came to word-to-word warfare, but strangely they had also been getting along. Not having vicious arguments or trying to kill each other. Mostly these arguments were simply clashes with words that had no real hurtful meaning to them. Was this a sign of some weird friendship to come? Only time will tell.
She turned her attention back to the short fox as she sat down in her own chair. "Indeed. Me too. Feels like a LONG time since i had anything that was NOT sea food. Plus it feels great to be on solid land. Where giant sharks and other sea monsters can't eat you at." She also poured herself some wine and took a short sip from it.

Alexander nodded in agreement, "You're right there, Krauser. Know let's go to this feast, I'm starving." He shrugged the stoat's arm off of his shoulders and entered the dining room. The Pine Marten surveyed all the beasts at the table; Renak squirmed uncomfortable in his chair, Zahn looked calm and cool, while Drask and Callista seemed to be smiling a lot more than normal. Maybe his initial prediction was correct about those two. Alexander took a seat on the other side of Drask, with a nod to Renak and Zahn as he did. "Madam Callista, General Darkfang, greetings."
Drask didn't ignore the kick he received from Callista, "Do that again, and I'll have to tell them everything." The general smiled mischievously at her, and pulled out the chair on his other side for the Pure Ferret. Drask seemed not to notice the new arrival to the dining room and kept his attention on Callista, but he caught himself and turned to acknowledge the major. "Welcome, Alexander." Drask regretted taunting Callista in front of all these other beasts, it might have reduced his reputation of being cold to all beasts, now that they saw him joking around a little to much.

Krauser was quick to take his own seat. He tried to take the chair closest to Callista as possible and than start to pour his own glass of wine. Unlike most of the other beasts. He drunk his down. He often ate his food and drank his drinks very quickly. A traumatising second nature reflex he had learned to employ almost all the time during his times in the Far Eastern Jungles.
(Shortness. XP lol!)

"Damson wine," Moll burst out after a short silence. "That's what I forgot. It's Drask's favorite. I should have remembered to ask them to have it at paw."
"M'Lady, I believe General Darkfang requested his own favorite drink from the kitchen staff."
There was a quiet knock at the door but it made Moll jump. "That is the signal. Are you ready, Your Majesty?" Larka asked her.
Moll fidgeted, "Oh yes I suppose."
"Be calm, m'Lady. Just as when we practice our exercises," the stoatmaid encouraged her. "That is all this is really: another exercise of your throne. Take deep breaths and . . ."
Moll interrupted her with a nervous laugh, "I think I'd rather be going in there with my sword."
"You'll be just fine, m'Lady." Larka nodded and pulled the door open towards her allowing Moll to enter the dining room ahead of her.
The Monitor lowered his hood and made the anouncement, "Pleaze rize to greet Her Majezty, Queen Moll!" It was not a request and he waited a beat for them all to comply before ushering in the Monarch of Sampetra.

Major Alexander was the first to stand, apparently he was the most alert of the group as the rest seemed to go through a delayed response. The Pine Marten held his shoulders back, looking every bit the officer he was; he appeared to be more general-like than Drask himself. At least one beast from that army would look properly trained.
Zahn rose a split second after Alexander, he wanted to make a good impression on Queen Moll from the start, because her favor was the path to advancement here on Sampetra. Though he also wanted to behave so he could possibly receive that reward that Drask placed out for them. It wasn't his first priority, but it sure was up there. The short fox kept his face straight and calm just as he was before the arrival of the Queen, this was a pivotal evening for him if he was to raise through the ranks like Alexander had.
Drask stood last out of the three beasts that were enlisted in the army. Before he stood he took one last sip from his cup of damson wine and drained last of his first glass, he knew he would have to watch he consumption of the beverage from now on. The general wondered what Callista would think of Moll, he hoped the former barmaid had dressed up much more regal than normal in order to make an impression on the Pure Ferret.

Callista, like Krauser. Was hesitant at first. Unsure if she should do it, but out of confusion and slight fear for what would happen if she DIDN'T do it. She stood up also. For all she knew. She had no choice anyway. Even if she didn't and some conflict happened. She and Krauser could not fight they're way out of this palace without getting killed themselves. Really it didn't matter. She was just a mear Princess. Like her two only brother are only princes..... Well one is prince now maybe.. or now. According the the laws of the Royal Pure Ferret Family. Only the oldest and still living pure ferret sibling could be queen or king. Being one of the youngest siblings of the three. She was likely not going to be queen and never will until she could prove them dead. Which is not likely to happen. Knowing how tough her brothers are and how deep Mossflower Woods was...
Krauser only stood up because Callista did. Really. He didn't get why she had to do it. Not like anybeast will say anything about it and even if somebeast did. They would have him to answer too and it would take more than a few creature to stop him for making his points clear, but for now. Callista had stood up. So he had to also.
