Conan open the throne doors open moments later with the goods, food that is. Carried by a few servants. Conan held his paws up "I promise i didn't touch any of it. I remember that last time i did and Hislek threw a fit about it. Speaking of which. Sorry about the chair, i got the coins now for a replacement if you want it now." A few days ago. They were having a feast and Conan, who was a stranger to such things. Mistook it for a "all you can eat" buffet and ate most of it. This caused the fox to become pissed at him and he literally attacked him with his scimitar. Which Conan fended off with a chair until the others restrand him.
Such a funny day that was....

Jayne waved at Jimmy and for a brief moment didn't realize that the captain had already started walking off. She hurried to catch up nearly crashing into him with the momentum of running down the gangplank. She did a funny little dance of following him trying to stay close but not too close, rushing at one moment and then holding back for a step or two. She hoped she wasn't being an annoyance to him. Finally she fell into step behind him closer than any normal male crewbeast might have hovered; as if she were an extra shadow that he couldn't rid himself of no matter how hard he tried. There were two reasons for this. First, because she didn't want to loose him in the crowd. Secondly, she really just liked to be near him.

Vrelt would have smiled at the arctic fox, but in order to keep up his reputation of being cold and heartless to everyone, including servants, he kept his expression cool and even. He nodded in response and gestured to a small table, on the other side of the throne room, "Set the food down there and leave us, servants." The servants made haste to obey their warlord's orders, placing the food there and bowing quickly to the ferret before moving out of his chambers quickly. Vrelt now addressed Conan, "Next time you talk to me in front of any other beasts besides us, use a title to address me. It helps keep face here."
Draygo, of course, noticed Jayne clinging close to him, and the captain was inwardly relieved that she stuck so close to him in the crowd of hardened pirates and other vermin as the made their way to the fortress. Her safety had been a priority to him ever since he rescued her from Akkladia, and it was especially important to him now, when they were surrounded by all sorts of scum. Hayes followed at a slight distance, watching his captain's back in the crowd, prepared to help should anything happen.
As they were closing on the gates to the fortress, a squad of twelve of the Elite Guard headed by none other than Darren Hislek stepped in front of them. The fox spoke up to the three beasts from the Venture. "Welcome to Riftgard. Warlord Darkfang is expecting you. Follow me, my guards will escort us to his chambers."
The Elite Guard immediately formed around Draygo, Jayne and Mr. Hayes. Draygo nodded in responce to the fox, "Take us their, Commander." Hislek headed the squad as they entered the fortress, on their way to Vrelt's Throne Room....

"Me apologies your mightiness." The arctic fox said with a slight bow, than rising himself to his normal posture. He pointed his ear up in alertness. "Do you need me fer anything else?" The fox had screwed up once. It always better never to do so again.
The Ferret/Mink knew it right than! HE WAS CHIEF! She was the daughter of a mighty and powerful chief! Though of course, it was a bit obvious because of the massive stone house he has. Though she wondered if he had to win many wars with other tribes to win it....

Jayne was glad when the escort finally arrived. She had felt the eyes of several of the beasts in the crowd on her but she had tried her best to ignore them. Her sea legs had made her feminine gait more noticeable but there wasn't anything she could do about it. She was glad at least for her rather baggy sailor's garb but she heard one beast in the crowd whistle and call out something about how another beast would fit into her oversized shirt and wouldn't he love to be that beast. She blushed under her fur and kept walking.

"No. Just remember what I said, captain." The warlord was satisfied with the results of that correction and turned back to his daughter, with a smile that was reserved for beasts like her; those that he viewed as close to him. Vrelt gestured to the food and back to Tallula, "Time to eat." So far his daughter had understood all the gestures he used to communicate with her, which made the impression on Vrelt that the mink was quick-minded, easily more intelligent than many of the vermin he employed here at Riftgard.
Hislek lead the group onward at a brisk pace, his paw rested on the scimitar that was at his side. He was familiar with this Captain Englehorn, he always managed to bring back something that Vrelt was willing to pay a high price for. It was mainly vital information from around the islands, which was always correct, unlike the reports of the various other pirate captains.
Draygo went through the routine same as always, following the fox commander. Though the captain never did trust Vrelt, he saw working for him above the other rulers; Herrick and the newly appointed Queen Moll. That would be great news to share with the warlord, for Vrelt never planned on aiding Teague while he was in power. But now that some other beast took control, Draygo knew that the ferret would more than likely send an diplomatic party to the island, possibly even going there in person. Englehorn saw the ambition that ran through the veins of every Darkfang, and this news might just prompt another act of that ambition.

Tallula was quick to grab the nearest fish by it's tail in her webbed paw and start devouring it. It was the closest thing she was used to as food in this faraway land of Riftgard. It tasted different from the fresh water fish she ate mostly in her young life, but she liked it anyway. Fish was fish and fish almost always tasted good to her.
Conan was already feeling a good connection with Tallula. Kinda like an uncle relationship with her. She was a lot like him. A fighter AND a lover of the taste of fish. She could go places with her attitude and fine taste....

I shouldn't have come, Jayne thought to herself. I should have volunteered to stay aboard the Venture with Lumpy and Choi. I'm undermining his authority just by my presence here.
((sorry that was super short. There isn't much for me to say at the moment and i got called away to go grocery shopping. I'll try to come back and modify if i think of something but if i don't get the chance just go on without me and i'll come back in on the next round))

Though the ferret planned to eat the meal with his daughter, she seemed like she needed all of it, so he left her to devour all the fish she wanted. Vrelt picked up an empty chalice that laid on the small table, which he had no idea of how it arrived there in the first place. That didn't concern him as he picked up a half-empty bottle of damson wine, left over from the same night he used his favorite chalice. The warlord poured the rich wine into the chalice and took a deep drink out of it, savoring the beverage. One of the few things, if any, that he and his half-brother had in common was their liking of that particular wine. After draining the chalice he set it back down, and lifted one of the dishes that his servants brought in, finally deciding that he needed some of that fish as much as Tallula. The warlord didn't bother with table manners now that it was only Conan in his chambers, and he tore apart the fish with his paws instead of the gold silverware that was provided. Vrelt ate the fish in almost the same barbaric manner that Tallula did, which may have made them seem like they were both from the primitive Western Lands.
The group made it to the "Royal" hallway, which had another squad of twelve guards stationed there, just outside of the Throne Room. Hislek lead the three beasts to a huge door that guarded the massive chamber that Vrelt Darkfang called home. The fox halted there, and held his paw to the three beasts following him. "There are three rules while you're in there. One, Never address his Majesty with his name, only with a proper title. Two, Don't make try anything funny, my guards will have your heads on pikes if you do. Finally, Three, Don't forget the first two." Though the fox commander had already stated those rules to Draygo before, he did it again, just to make sure that his two crewbeasts that accompanied him would cause no trouble.
Draygo remained silent as Hislek went over those rules for the twentieth time, it was getting old to have to listen to that fox. The captain wished he could disobey that third rule, and forget all the rest. But Vrelt Darkfang's loyal supporters were always extremely cautious when it came to allowing other beasts to enter with him, with no guards. Everybeast knew what happened to the last Darkfang to sit in that throne....

Tallula had dealt with the first fish she picked out well, leaving little left but fins, some scales and bone. Though this time she picked up two fishes at once. Holding the one in her right paw up, she offered it to the strange looking fox. The reason?. She thought he was a good creature. A loyal warrior under her powerful chief father.
Conan looked around and that at Vrelt for a few moments. As if he was wondering if it was ok to take the fish Tallula was offering him, but he reached out to take the fish from her and while the ferret/mink turned her attention to devoir the other fish she had picked up. Conan, being one from the Land of Ice and Snow, swallowed the entire fish whole by merely sliding it down his throat head-first and swallowing. In the Land of Ice and Snow. Food was very scarce. Even with the ocean to go to. So the survival instinct that made Conan devoir the fish so quickly was still pretty much strong. Because if you didn't eat quickly in the Land of Ice and Snow. You would likely lose your food to somebeast just as mean and hungry as you...... Or worse. You'd end up as the food.....

Jayne was dazzled by everything about the palace. She had never seen anyplace that was so big or so empty. There were places along the hall that looked like they might have once held some sort of priceless object but now they stood barren. There were the shadows of tapestries on the walls and tables that held nothing but a layer of dust but as they came closer to the throne room she began to notice a painting here and there. She almost missed hearing 'the rules' because she was so busy staring at a particular paining of a pure ferret. After the fox finished speaking however she knew she had to acknowledge his words somehow. She nodded.

Hislek turned away from the group and faced the door, he knocked several times to allow Vrelt to prepare to have guests in his Throne Room. The fox commander would wait for nearly a minute in the proper drill so it would give Vrelt time to get ready, for the warlord never stayed sitting in his throne for long.
When the knocking sounded at the door, Vrelt was close to panicking; he forgot all about Englehorn showing up, the brief meal distracted him. The ferret wiped fish scales away from his mouth quickly and hastily took his seat at the throne. Vrelt then pointed to Conan, "Get my daughter out," He changed his mind and spoke again, "No, just watch her, find out how to tell her to stop eating." Vrelt put on his "Ruler" face, which was distinctively different from the smile he just had. They would be entering any second now....
Hislek finally opened the large door and stepped into the vast chamber, calling out to Vrelt as he did. "Warlord Darkfang, Captain Englehorn is here to see you know." Vrelt responded to the fox in a cold voice, "Bring him in, commander." Hislek stepped back outside the chamber and spoke to Draygo, "You're clear to go in now, Captain. Proceed with caution."
Draygo nodded in reply to the fox and boldly walked past him into the Throne Room, which, unlike the rest of the fortress, was well furnished with all of the tapestries, sculptures, paintings, and remaining valuable items that survived the revolution. The captain paid no attention to the surrounding and instead directed his attention to the throne, where Vrelt Darkfang sat. "Warlord, Pleased to see you again."

The Mink was about to pick up another fish when Conan's paw caught her's. "Uh missie. Mightiness has got some importan' things to do right now so maybe ye better stop eating and maybe stand next to me." the fox carefully pulled her away and forced her to stand next to him out of everybeast's way.
Tallula was slightly surprised at the suddenly change in attitude, but when she noticed the beasts coming in. She realized that her chief daddy may either be getting reports, or about to execute somebeast. Either way, she knew she had to move out of the way and was willing to stand next to the fox. Besides, the foxes' strong paw kept her from moving away anyway.

Jayne entered the throne room silently and almost reverently. It was so beautiful she didn't know which way to look. She quickly took in the paintings and sculptures and other works of art, the stern looking ferret on the throne and then after a small scuffle in that direction alerted her, the small mink being pulled away from her supper.
Jayne was moved almost as if she knew the fellow slave on sight. And it reminded her of something: long ago she had rowed beside a mink in a galley. It had been hard work made harder by the fact that they couldn't communicate with each other that is until they started teaching one another their languages. Without thinking if it was right or wrong to do so, Jayne took a few steps toward the child and held out a friendly paw. "Greetings." she addressed her politely in the Mink tongue.

Once the three beasts were in the Throne Room, Hislek closed the large door behind them and took his place outside along with the two squads of guards. The fox knew this would more than likely take a long time, he planned on waiting outside to ensure Vrelt's safety personally.
Draygo turned his gaze sharply to Jayne as she started greeting that Mink. They were here to see Vrelt, not make friends with some small child. He ignored her and stepped closer to the throne, to start on his report, but he did not speak once he noticed that Vrelt was staring straight at Jayne from across the room. The captain was growing tired of this, he had a job to complete and these two beasts were making it near impossible to complete.
Vrelt had not laid eyes on a more lovely beast for such a long time, for he never considered Romsca in that way. The warlord couldn't help but stare, until he caught himself and turned back to Captain Englehorn, "Well, what are you waiting for. Report, Captain." He did not much care to here those reports right now, when there was a chance for him to meet that ferret on the other side of the room, one that just spoke in his daughter's language! The ferret leaped from his throne and shoved Draygo aside, moving over to Jayne's side, "You can speak her language?" Vrelt couldn't stop himself from seizing this opportunity now, this ferret was not only lovely, but she could speak that language that no other beast had been able to learn!
